I had brimstone volley as a 2 of, i just never seem to get more than 3 mana, so it just sat in my hand alot. i appreciate the complements!
its just the one miracle for the reason you mentioned, they are bad. i really just need them to print a good 2CMC for 4 damage (aka flame rift). i have tried planeswalkers, im thinking of making a RDW running chandra and pyromancers ascension.

I gotta agree, vexing devil is a filler in burn decks, who dont have enough 1 cost cards that deal 3 damage..

not to spam my deck, but this seems to be the only competitive deck vexing devil fits in. as far as casual kitchen table stuff goes put him in whatever you want, he's a great card for casual...

yea you want 20 tops. i go between 18-20, depending on the curve. i run 3 different variants of burn in modern, and ive done pretty well in tourneys with them.
the only deck vewing devil belongs in is mono red burn. its a bad card in the idea that your opponent picks what it does. they will take 4 damage when you want it to stick, or they will let it stick when they have removal in their hand. you will never finish off an opponent at 2 life with a vexing devil unless they already lost.
basically its good against bad players who dont know what to pick, but you have better options i think

Phyrexian oblitorator is good just because no one wants to block him and sacrifice permanents. he is a 4 turn clock that they have to deal with. i feel i need 3 lands consistnatly, so not sure about messing with the lnadbase too much more. what would you replace the inquisitions with? its probagbly the best discard card they make, and i need removal.

Type your deck name...that sounds good. it was considered, i have the catacombs for fetchlands, and a playset of deathrites. abrupt decay is nasty in vintage/legacy too. im going to keep playtesting, i need to go pick up 2 shizo's, i have the other cards you recommended. what do you recommend for more control

i think sulfer falls x 3 and steam vents x4, or if budget is an issue go shivan reef instead of the shock land. sulfer falls are 6, and shivan reef are 3. that wouldnt be to bad of a mana base. my changes would be -4 vexing devil, +4 grim lavamancer, -2 steam augrey, +2 lightning bolt. -3 guttersnipe, +2 young pyromancer, +1 mana leak. then -1 izzet paragon, -2 steam augery for +2 surgical extraction, +1 electrolyze. I know that changes a hell of a lot, but itll make it faster and more dangerous. you turn 2 bolt a creature, then remove all 4 of them from his deck with surgical extraction? it would surely mix up that kitchen table

I actually made all your changes. i needed more ways to trigger dark depths, literally everything that doesnt trigger it is in here to stall the game long enough for me to get it off. trying to get this deck to compete in a field of $2000+ dollar decks, its a real work in progress.

I like the way this list is looking, how's it running? I would still like to see the vexing devils go way for grim lavamancer x3,, then - 2 magma jet for 2 boros charm
