Tbh I wanted the Abundant Growth for the extra card draw, but in reality you're right about the effect.
Hi, so I gave the challenge some thought and came up with this attempt:http://www.mtgvault.com/anon88/decks/mean-and-green/I built it based on most of the suggestions written here. It may need a lot more tinkering but the gist is there I think.
Welcome to the Vault :)For me to help you, I need to know what your idea/plan for the deck is. Ideally, you write a general description (doesn't have to be too detailed) of what you want the deck to do.It would also be good if you point out certain combo/s or card/s you are trying to exploit. My first suggestion though is this, when building a normal deck make sure you have playsets of the important cards in the deck (a playset is normally 3 to 4 of the same card, with exceptions). That way you have greater chances of drawing the cards you want than if you had one of each. When you post what you had in mind, I'm sure we (the Vault community) will try to help you out. ;)
I might look into creatures like: Gaea's Revenge, Lumberknot, Plated Slagwurm, Silhana Ledgewalker and Terra Stomper. The cards DedWards said would also complement your strategy greatly.
I'd play Runed Stalactite instead of Riptide Laboratory, that way you do not need to worry about your wizards.Either that or Amoeboid Changeling for an extra body count.
I'd suggest Lifecrafter's Gift, Forced Adaptation, Gleam of Authority, Hunger of the Howlpack, Reap What Is Sown, Collective Effort, Travel preparations and maybe Increasing Savagery.
Welcome to the Vault :).Here is some friendly advice:In terms of structure, ideally you limit yourself to 60 cards and have play sets of the important cards (3 to 4 cards). Having a lot of singles makes the deck very unreliable and makes combo creation impossible. It would also be ideal for you to add a description or a deck strategy for any of us to understand what the is supposed to do, as well as allow us to better help you.
@Awesome, check the wording of Myr Servitor again. It says: "all cards named Myr Servitor", so essentially he'd bring back all three of them in play if he keeps one alive.
In that case, take out the Grunts and put in the Myr Servitors. You'll be able to get them back for free next turn if you keep one of them alive. Then maybe take out two signets for two Salvos, that way you'd have more options if your opponent happens to be playing an artifact hate deck.
Consider the following: Welding Sparks, Scrapyard Salvo, Myr Servitor, Myr Moonvessel and Cathodion.
Yeah well, I'm used to such underhanded cheap tricks in my community. Besides, I was expecting him to do that since he is an Elf fan and he ALWAYS beats my beast decks with his Elf Death Star deck. (Which if had used, I would simply have scooped up everything and just gone home.)Well here is what I think was his deck, he left in quiet a hurry after losing that badly to me. http://www.mtgvault.com/anon88/decks/elvish-pauper/
Quick update on the outcome of the challenge... 2-1 VICTORY and against Elves NO LESS!!!!The rascal thought to pull as fast one on me and created a Pauper Elf deck that was very fast. My only saving grace was Beast Within, I used it at the right time and destroyed his entire combo.First match: I was taken by surprise by his Elf deck, had no chance at keep up with him and ended up having to concede the loss. I took the opportunity to watch his moves and got the gist of his combos.Second match: Was going to turn out just like the first save for a surprise Beast Within move that essentially crippled his entire combo and left baffled at the comeback. Swung for a quick assault in my turn followed by a Thundering Hooves.Third match: We were both wary of each other's hands and played the stalling game, it was hit and miss, but a Beast Within followed by a Destructive Revelry gave me the win. (he had lost a lot of life to double Impact Tremors and a couple of attacks)I can finally say I managed to beat an Elf Deck with a Beast Deck. Will post his deck online as soon as possible.
Yeah, hence why I opted for the Ravenous Baloth and Fresh Meat combo.
Well he told me creature type Beast only, hence why I avoided Changelings as they are all creature types. In terms of cost, he didn't specify so I was aiming below 25 dollars if possible. (since I'll have to buy it and wreck him with it to prove my point)
Yes in theory that's how it works. The cards will keep in checking if there is any life lost/gained and the cycle continues. All he/she would need to do is use a simple Alms of the Vein or Blood tithe. As a quick suggestion you need card drawing/searching to get the right cards out fast. Try looking into Beseech the Queen or Diabolic Tutor.
I was going to suggest Tunnel Ignus or even Zo-Zu for opponent land punishment. Was also going to suggest Undergrowth Champion or Scute Mob as blockers and finishers.
Sorry for sounding stupid, but why are you playing Eidolon if the majority of your spells are 3 mana or less?
Looks way better than the first one :)Also check out the following:Draconic RoarSarkhan's Triumph
Added three extra lands instead of the Sculptors, seems better now thanks.
