Shadow of the Grave, a card that will definitely bring this deck to new levels of awesome!!!
Interesting choice of cards for an Affinity deck.I actually like the Ravager - Faith's Reward combo, it actually makes Ravager usable for a change.I don't know what I would suggest as I don't know how you're planning to play the deck.Looking into cards like Tempered Steel and Ruthless Invasion.
Had been thinking of doing a similar one, but wanted to exploit the new warriors and go with a little more variety. Thanks for the share though.
Thanks, added them to the horde.
Like the idea.Look into:Brute Strength, Dragonrage, Dynacharge, Fists of the Anvil, Balduvian Rage and Borrowed Grace.
It will actually be 24 damage on your turn not 23, but essentially Phyrexian Dreadnought is pretty OP in this deck.
Brilliant deck!!!Possible cards to look at:DichotomancyMimeofacturePsychic SurgeryStream of Consciousness
I'm afraid the rule for the card has changed a little: http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?multiverseid=8808There is the added clause that another creature should be on the battlefield. As per the query you've been asking, from the wording on the site, it will be 16 damage the first turn followed by 8 damage in the opponent's end step. (as the wording changed to "at the beginning of the next end step")But still a brilliant deck.
Don't know why, but I am thinking Cinder Pyromancer and Prophetic Ravings might work in this deck. (though they'd take up valuable space)Btw Lava Axe FTW!!!
Try Goblin Wardriver, I think he'd make a fine addition to the deck.
Coldersoul, I said that for the time when they actually banned the artifact lands. On another note, Arcbound Ravager is not an effective card for an affinity deck. I have personal experience playing Affinity and trust me, that card is a joke. Arcbound Crusher is a way better card as it grows with every artifact you throw out, which is faster than Ravager's ability without losing your momentum or your artifacts.I have beaten even professional Affinity decks that had Ravagers in them and still they wouldn't remove the card after a sound 10:0 loss. (we both had 4 copies in our decks and still I get out the Crusher first)I agree with you on the rest of the comment as now there are just too many ways for Affinity to be played, I just like focusing on the old method. (just the way I used to play it back when it started)
While it is true that most artifact lands are banned, as Necrumlsice said, Affinity has found a way to by-pass this hurdle and come out strong. The main emphasis now is on low mana cost creatures, such as Signal Pest, and heavy hitters, such as Master of Etherium. Of course there is always Cranial Plating (which to be honest was what I would have really banned to stop Affinity completely)
Hi mate, I've been busy and unfortunately had to put aside magic for a while. Now that I'm back, I decided to start fresh and maybe try to come up with new ideas/combos just for fun.
Long time no see Surewhynot, congrats on your 100th deck. Remember you posting on my old decks when I was under the name ANON.My favorite card definitely has to be Arcbound Crusher, always better than Arcbound Ravager. My favorite deck: http://www.mtgvault.com/anon/decks/the-banned-deck/
Love the deck concept, the only thing I'd worry about is if they manage to snipe or bounce your creatures.I'd suggest side-boarding a couple of Lightning Greaves or Swiftfoot Booths just in case. (2 mana each which slows your deck a little)I know you're focusing on low cost equipment, but can't help but suggesting: Leering Emblem and Cranial Plating.
Pity, I never had the chance to abuse these combos. :(Will have to wait and see how the hew split cards will fair before I give my opinion though.
That's where I am stumped, and hence why I posted the deck for constructive criticism. I was thinking of removing Altar's Reap and Grave Strength for defensive spells like Dash Hopes and Terminate.
Hence why I also added Shattered perception to speed up the process after Gravepurge. I know it is a long shot idea, but that was the only concept where I thought Lost Legacy would fit.
The idea is to play the Apostles at first and spam the big creatures. Then Gravepurge to put them back on top of your library and redraw. Once you have a hand size of around 15 cards just use Legacy followed by Showdown or just Showdown depending on your mana availability. The idea is with Legacy you target yourself by choosing Apostle thereby removing a large chunk of your deck. If you have enough in your hand you can re-draw it as per Legacy rules. Showdown is just a combo finisher as it depends on your hand size, which with the help of the Spire should be fairly large.
