Skarrgan Pit-Skulk is a great bloodthirsting one drop. May not work the best here as it works best with lots of buffing but it could be worth a look! Enjoy your deck!

Well also, when I designed the decks originally five years ago or something, the original rule I had was "I needed to be able get everything into play with only one land out". I wouldn't exclude creatures if they had an activated ability which cost more that one (such as Llanowar Elite which was in the original design of my green one) so that meant that Equipment with an equip cost of more than one was ok. I obviously didn't want to run a high equip cost because I'm only running 16 lands but I figured two was safe.Anyway that's where my head was at. Thanks for the thoughts, though!
I allowed it because of dark ritual. the Unearth is just a bonus at that point for if you sac it to get out Scion!
Thank you. Also I rescind my earlier suggestion of Crowned Cetorak; I didn't read it closely enough. It's doesn't do what I thought it did so it wouldn't be a good fit.Sprout swarm would, though!
I like the ruleset concept.Question about this deck though: am I missing something about the Mammoth? Giving your 1/1's trample doesn't do anything I can think of and I don't see any buffing soo... Is he just there as a big beefcake? If so wouldn't something like Khalni Hydra be better? Or for more budget suggestions for 4 mana a Crowned Cetorak could help buff your saprolings and give the trample. Or if Commander cards are ok in this format then maybe Creeperhulk for 5. he's a 5/5 trampler with {G}{1} : Target creature you control becomes a 5/5 Trampler as well, and since it's an ability just pay 4 target two unblocked saprolings and BOOM: 10 damage = instant win. Anyway, those are my thoughts, but I like where your head is at!Enjoy your decks!
There it is: I did miss something. :) Nevermind!
Am I missing something?Doesn't your infinite mana combo only produce colorless mana (and the only mana conversion I'm seeing is the 2 Prophetic Prism which also needs to tap to do it...).This leads to the problem that both of Memnarch's abilities require blue mana.Sorry if I missed something obvious.
I like that the fact that Nykthos being Legendary doesn't really matter because you can use it's ability, play another one (if you haven't played another land), lose the first one to the legend rule, and use the second one's ability to add even more mana. Boom.I like it!
He's a fun card, no doubt! In my own deck he was just too slow and mana hungry to be effective. He costs 11 mana for his big form (all told) and six lands out (at least). For that much land I would rather have double strikers and/or fliers swinging for 6-10 damage by turn three. I used to run Daily Regimen as well but it was such a mana sink that I couldn't move from creature to creature it usually turned out to be a waste of mana. I do still run Student of Warfare thought because after dropping him for one he only takes 2 and becomes a 3/3 First Strike which fits perfectly with the first strike/deathtouch theme of my deck. Mid to Late game (if there is one) I can toss more mana at him and make him the beefy double striker. Again, to each there own and every deck is different. I had found that in my own casual games with my friends (one of whom favors an annoyingly fast Goblin deck) Figure of Destiny etc. was just too slow and too vulnerable at the end of the day, but if you make him work: rock on!
Hey there: I love where your head is at on this.I have a series of what I called "One Mana Decks" (six decks, one for every color and colorless, and they all can run with one land on the field). I can tell you from experience: 24 lands is wa-a-ay too many. Seriously, my six decks run anywhere from 12 to 20 lands (depending on the deck). For comparison/inspiration here is my One Mana White:https://www.mtgvault.com/basilicanero/decks/one-mana-series-white/Enjoy your deck!
I feel in a budget landfall deck running 4 Evolving Wilds will do you wonders as it allows for easily dropping two lands a turn. Cheers!
Actually considering the already very low CMC of everything in the deck (including equip costs) I found him to not make much of difference really. If I had some bigger equipment I would agree but in this case I don't think he's necessary.Good suggestion though! Thanks!
While all of those are good ideas, I was going for simplicity and budget above all on this one. And that's a good point on Lightning greaves, I have been using the swiftfoot boots exclusively in this deck now and the hexproof over shroud is invaluable.
I like it. +1
Paradox Haze. Enchantment. {2}{U} Gives you an additional upkeep and stacks with itself (as long as nothing prevents your first upkeep somehow). Epic will trigger on "the beginning of each of your upkeeps". Boom.
Nice! Here is my super budget version for comparison:http://www.mtgvault.com/basilicanero/decks/hardkor-budget-20/Enjoy your deck!Cheers!
Excellent suggestion! Thanks.
If you are using Genesis Chamber in a Soul Sister's deck, then you might consider also using Suture Priest. Remember Genesis Chamber is a world effect and your opponents get token when they play creatures, too. Suture Priest makes them lose extra life for that. Here is my R/W Soul Sister deck for comparison/inspiration:http://www.mtgvault.com/basilicanero/decks/blink/Enjoy your deck!Cheers!
As a budget alternate to the soul sisters (and a great card to boot) may I recommend Suture Priest. A playset is less than $2 and they really are an excellent card. Also I would recommend going for Soul Warden over Souls Attendant first as they are literally half the cost ($3.50 ish for a playset instead of $7).Other thoughts include Maybe throwing in 2 Aetherflux reservoirs. They are about 90c each last I looked and they have solid life gain and an alternate win condition built in. A card which pairs well with both of those could be Whitemane Lion. (15c) It can be flashed in to save a creature of value of yours in a pinch but it's true strength comes from that fact that it can return itself. If you have six mana open then you can play it three times which will activate your triggers three times. For inspiration /comparison here is my budget R/W Souls Sisters deck:http://www.mtgvault.com/basilicanero/decks/soul-sisters-budget-20/Enjoy your deck!Cheers!
Nice solid budget life gain deck! I am assuming many of the choices are made with budget in mind (no Path to Exile for example). However for an alternate Win condition you could run 2 Aetherflux Reservoirs. They are less than $1 each, have solid life gain, and if you consistently have over 50 life per game it can be pretty brutal. Enjoy your deck!Cheers!
