Hi thGR8D35tr0Y3r, Well I was planning on tuning the land so Moorland Haunt, Seachrome Coast, Glacial Fortress are an obvious adds. You're right Champion of the Parish is superior to Drogschkol Captain. But I can't get rid of it because the whole idea is to get the 4 Captain decks to fight each other. But looking at the non-spirit creature cards most of them are superior to Midnight Haunting. I did toy with the idea of adding Doomed Traveler but Delver of Secrets is superior to it unless I add Sword Artifacts or Runechanter's Pike to the main deck this also will add the protection that Sajomir suggested for Saint Traft. So take a look at the changes and let me know what you think.

Very nice casual deck. If you took out some creatures and added some counterspells and maybe added a couple oblivion rings I think this thing could be tourney worthy. (I heard Oblivion Ring and Venser can make some pretty mean combos ;-))
You brought back sweet memories. My eyes grew misty one of the first combos I ever used if you don't count channel + hurricane to kiill every one turn two in group game :-)). That silly combo truely made every one hate me.
Hi Sajomir, You asked me to look at this deck so.... Wow!!! that's alot of creatures. I haven't see that many creatures in a tourney deck since Green Stompy a ran bunch of single mana creatures with some Land Grant's instead of land. I guess I'm just used to seeing more creature support cards. But all those creatures sort of make sense since you have Champion of Lambholt, Champion of the Parish, and Thalia, Guardian of Thraben in the deck. But I notice you don't have any way to protect the Champions or Thalia so that might be weakness in the deck. Maybe addng Apostle's Blessing or similiar spells might be in order. With so many white creatures I suprised to see no Honor the Pure until I noticed you have both Hamlet Captain and Mayor of Avabruck in the deck. So the only real problem I see in the deck is it has little to handle flyers. Maybe Corrosive Gale in the side board might be of help. As has been mentioned Oblivion Ring in sideboard also might be useful. Hope that helps
Well I was thinking. Sacrifice Full Moon's Rise: Regenerate all Werewolf creatures you control in response to popping of the ratchet bomb But if you were thinking what about the humans? Remember I also have 4 Moonmist to turn all the humans to werewolves. But if you think it still is too risky. I don't know what to say other than some times you've got to sacrifice some of your creatures for the greater good.
Oh yeah, I forgot to mention this deck is deliberately with out any artifacts or enchantments so as to gain possible virtual card advantage if the opponent is packing enchantment or artifact removal in main deck. My local gaming enviroment is packed with artifacts and artifact removal in sideboard.
Hi Sajomir, You know I really never thought about giving Saint Traft evasion, I just imaged I'd Vapor Snag blocker away. Maybe you got a point. I debated in my mind Saint Traft or Dungeon Geists. Saint Taft won due to less mana cost is Hexproof and attacks with 4/4 flying token. I think I'll compromise. I'll reduce Saint Traft to 2 and add 2 Dungeon Geists so now I have 2 more ways to get rid of blockers to Saint Taft. And that also allows me to play Phantasmal Image of a Dungeon Geist as possible play in the deck. Yeah I still need to turne the lands. This is just a quick throw together to get suggestions. Thanks for the input. I'll take a look at your deck soon.
Interesting idea. It is a nice card if you can get it into play, but 7 mana casting cost makes me hesitate.
Hi fluffyweresheep, Thanks for your input. Have made changes. if you'd like me to look at any of your decks post a link here.
Why wait until turn 3? Turn 1 win ancient tomb + lotus petal + show and tell + ashnod's altar + enduring renewal + Disciple of the Vault + memnite Of course you'd have to draw exactly those 7 cards and hope the opponent doesn't have a Force of Will, Mind Break Trap, etc.... :-)) Anyway I really like your deck I'd use Blood Artist over Falkenrath Noble because it costs two less mana to cast but has same ability except it can't fly. I also have enjoy abusing ashod's altar. Here are some Ashnod Altar's Deck I've made to give some ideas. Ashod's Altar of Myr Dementia Deck link: http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=157277 Gain Infinite Life Do Infinite Damage Deck link: http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=170058 Heartless Myr Retriever Deck Deck link: http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=250455 This deck has it all!!! Infinite Damage, Mana, Life, Card Draw etc... Deck link: http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=326923 But the deck I'm currently most proud of that uses an infinite creature death loop is Heartless 1st Turn Kill - No Vintage Power Cards Deck link: http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=326987 This is amazing deck that can consistantly go off fast.
Hi heliosofcows, I've always liked the idea of torpor orb abuse. That you did in standard form is neat. I've tried to spot anything missing in your deck and the only thng I could come up with was I like Bloodgift Demon over Harvester of Souls mainly because it is one less mana casting cost and its ability is slighly more reliable that Harvester of Souls. Sideboard Death Mark, Geth's Verdict and Rachet Bomb are possibilities. If you'd like to look at some legacy abuse of Torpor Orb here's a couple my Torpor Orb decks. Torpor Dreadnought Deck Deck link: http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=211081 Black Sundial Deck Deck link: http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=218152 Sundial of the Infinite Deck Deck link: http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=216189 Again impressive Demon Deck considering its limited to Standard.
Very Nice deck! Congradulations on 250 decks. 1 or 2 Underworld Dreams might have a place in this deck. Sanguine Bond + Exquisite Blood what a wonderful combo it as crazy evil as stuffy doll + guilty conscience painter's servant + grindstone pestermite + splinter twin Bloodchief Ascension + Mindcrank
Yeah, I agree with you it is increasingly hard to get noticed on this board. Unfortunately I started the worst decks trends with my "World's Worst Deck". I'm so sorry, I never thought it would get so out of hand. I just thought I was being clever and hoping to make a few people smile and possibly laugh at the time. While I do have one other Vault account I have never used it to kite up my likes for any of my decks. If fixing the problem means members are restricted to only one account and I lose my one other account I'm fine with that. I'll just repost my all my "Real Decks" to this account. I also have recently taken to reposting what I think are some of my more clever decks and I have attempted to increase the amount of advise I give in hopes the favorite will be returned. It helps a little. The best solution I think is we all should spend less time looking at the main page decks and more time on the Up and Comng and new decks and vote up decks that really look like the user put some effort in to the post. If more decks that included descriptions, explainations, and sideboards and obvious effort were voted up I think the current problem would go away. And like surewhynot, if you have any decks in particular you'd like me to check out just post the link to the deck in reply to this comment or on any of my decks. I check my Deck comments Inbox several times a day and I have never not replied to a polite request for help. May your always make your own good luck, Planestalker
If you add a sideboard then I'll really consider if it is tourney worthy.
Hey Kazzong, Since since you seem to like crazy fast combos. I've just posted a new killer combo that makes infinite life and infinite damage and infinite card draw that can go off turn 1 and even has some built in disruption prevention. Check it out Heartless 1st Turn Kill - No Vintage Power Cards Deck link: http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=326987
Hi Kazzong, How fast is it? It can go off turn 2 with Show and Tell. Normally falls into place by around turn 3 or 4. Emrakul keeps you from milling yourself as mentioned in introduction. Glad you like the deck. I'll look at your cheaper version later. I'm going to post an even faster can do most anything combo deck soon.
Oops I meant Phyrexian Altar instead of Altar of Dementia
Hi Kazzong, General concept I like Gnarlid + enchantments, but it's to simple a concept. If you're going to use Legacy cards try to use the Legacy creatures that really abuse enchantments Argothian Enchantress and Verduran Enchantress. Here's a typical Legacy Enchantress deck. Take a look at it to get ideas. Creatures 4 Argothian Enchantress Enchantments 1 Blood Moon 4 Elephant Grass 4 Enchantress's Presence 1 Energy Field 1 Illusions of Grandeur 1 Moat 2 Oblivion Ring 1 Puca's Mischief 1 Sigil of the Empty Throne 2 Solitary Confinement 4 Sterling Grove 4 Utopia Sprawl 1 Wheel of Sun and Moon 4 Wild Growth Instants 4 Enlightened Tutor Legendary Creatures 1 Emrakul, the Aeons Torn Sorceries 1 Replenish Basic Lands 4 Forest 3 Plains Lands 2 Horizon Canopy 2 Savannah 1 Taiga 1 Tropical Island 4 Windswept Heath Legendary Lands 2 Serra's Sanctum Sideboard: 1 Pithing Needle 1 Baneslayer Angel 1 Choke 1 City of Solitude 1 Ground Seal 4 Leyline of Sanctity 1 Oblivion Ring 1 Seal of Primordium 1 Solitary Confinement 1 Stony Silence 2 Replenish Personally I'd probably play with both Enchantresses and 4 Rancor and figure out a way to keep enchanting a zero cost crearture like Ornithropter then sacrificing it to Altar of Dementia with Enduring Renewal in play to infinitely cast Ornithropter and Rancor and draw infinite cards with Enchantress in play to draw for a combo win. Of if your really want to abuse Gnarlid figure out a way get multiple copies of enchantments using cards like Enduring Ideal, Eternal Dominion, Copy Enchantment using Show and Tell to get them into play fast.
Hi Kazzong, You asked my to look at your decks. While I'm not an expert at Standard I am more of a Legacy guy. Here's what I see. One your mana casting cost is a little high. 93mana/40 spells = 2.3 average mana per spell. I try to keep my decks to under 2 average mana unless I have a special way to cast higher casting cost spells. Recommend cutting 2 Belltower Sphinx and increasing Hedron Crab to 3. Your not running any spells or creatures to redirect damage to Belltower anyway. In reality this deck doesn't have enough focus and it is not running the power cards of Standard U/W just off the top of my head I would change mana leak instead of negate spell pierce instead of turn to frog day of judgment instead of divine reckoning there must be some thing better than vivisection if nothing comes to mind put in Lingering Souls seem everyone else is in U/W ;-)) That's a start. Maybe I'll post a standard U/W mill later. My Legacy U/W mills tend to be 1st turn combo decks. The problem with U/W Standard mill is that it no longer has cards like Traumatize and Jace, the Mind Sculpter. B/U decks might make better mill decks in Standard right now.
