Your mana curve is a bit . . . high. Really high for a rakados deck which is typically aggro.

I'm aware. Though most of the people I know can't afford a 'goyf playset, so what I see most of the time is merfolk tribal, elves tribal, goblin tribal, etc. Also see some whacky control decks using cascade, restore balance , and greater gargadon, and I myself tend to play an effective if un-imaginative izzet control deck. Point being I see a lot in my modern environment. While splitting damage is bad, protection from white red is sweet. However I think we will just have to agree to disagree about crusader.

Actually Both are perfectly playable as 1 drops because with a phalanx leader they can become much more than 1/1's and 1/2's. Atleast that's how it should work.

Myself I would side-board Coat of Arms and Story Circle, with battle tide alchemist and mirror entity.

Well with a rancor Phyrexian Crusader can be a game ending threat, or a sick blocker. Also I think it's only a little weak for modern. It could give most modern decks I know a run for their money. I wouldn't bet on it in an 11 game match, but I would possibly bet on it in a 3 game match.

Putrefy or mortify? I dunno, you have a pretty good smattering of stuff here. Curve looks solid, if a little high on 1 drops.

Also glissa and exicutioner capsule, but that combo is probably for another deck.

seems like someone else knows what I'm talking about. I think What we really need is a gelectrode, as well as a triumph of the hordes. In order to give gelectrode infect. Infect pingers are crazy good fast.
