Pillory actually works better. It prevents the creature I don't want to attack, and there often is one, from attacking. It also absorbs and enchantment kill that could have taken out Hissing Miasma.

I'm not a fan of hating out one particular deck, but Eldrazi Aggro has been reaching 35%+ of Modern decks being played (as per MTG Top 8), which is a problem. I'm tired of hearing people complain about it and / or calling for a ban. If you can waste all that energy complaining about it, why not try come up with a solution to the problem instead. This deck is me practicing what I preach.

I had to include some stuff for non Eldrazi match ups. Firewalker help against RDW.

Oops, my bad. (Just reread it now). Still, not a bad card for sideboard.

Ghost Quarter + Surgical Extraction can screw over Tron's land base (and Eldrazi Aggro's lands). This slows them down even more.

Ya, with Voice being so dam expensive, I thought a strong creature would fill the gap nicely, and what better than one that can become indestructible and untargetable on its own?

This deck was first and foremost designed to combat the Eldrazi Aggro decks. Karn doesn't feature in those decks.

Is Karn a problem? I don't see many decks outside Tron using him. Also, no one plays him in my play group, so I have had no experience facing him, so no experience trying to beat him.

If you play smart, Voice isn't that bad. I've had games where the opponent got 2 to 3 Tokens off Voice and I still won.

Thanks :D

I'm just getting really annoyed by all the complaints. And, well, practice what you preach. Sadly, I can't really test this against the Eldrazi. There's no one in my club that plays the Eldrazi decks (too many new / young members), so I can only theorise.

I'm just sick of all the complaints and calls for a banning. I am aware of and acknowledge that it's a threat, but I belive all that energy spent complaining would be better spent fighting the threat.

Here's a rough build of what I might build:

Also, don't Forget that Surgical Extraction can target nonbasic lands, so you can kill an Eye or Temple, pay 2 life and exile all copies :P

Idea *light bulb*
-4 Peer Through Depths
-2 The Unspeakable
-3 Eerie Procession
+3 Long-Forgotten Gohei
+4 Drift of Phantasms
+2 Perplex

Drift of Phantasms and Perplex can Transmute for Tainted Remedy; Thief of Hope; Long-Forgotten Gohei; and Roar of Jukai.

Thoughts?

Sorry, can't help. Blue, and by extension control, is probably my weakest / worst deck type to play with. (However, I do enjoy playing against it.) A description and / or battle plan would possibly help me come up with some ideas.

I don't play Legacy, so I'm not sure if I'll be of much help, but I'll take a look.

Ya, I'm trying to figure out how to fit Long-Forgotten Gohei into the deck. Thinking of reducing three spells to 3x to fit in 3 of it, but which spells?

Unless the rules for Commander changed since I last checked them (quite a while ago), a deck may only contain cards within the colour identity of the Commander. Because Rhys the Redeemed has a colour identity of both green and white, it requires a Commander with at least green and white colour identity.

You can't use Rhys the Redeemed with a mono green Commander as he is white. Thankfully, he is a legend and can be used as a Commander, which opens up a second colour too.

I actually did consider Devour Flesh, but without proper search for Tainted Remedy and the fact that combo'ing the 2 would be turn 4 at the earliest, I chose the arcane kill instead. It also triggers Thief of Hope and can be searched for with Eerie Procession.

I would consider Chord and Mycoloth, but sadly, outside of forking money out for them, I can't get any. This is more a fun idea and any money I spend will go towards my (slightly) more competitive decks. If the chance does come up, I'd gladly trade for them.
