Alright. I'll definitely have to consider it. Thanks for your help and suggestions! :D

Prognostic Sphinx is usually a good option, yeah. Hmmm....

Hmm...

Although, what I do have right now is not all that bad. I do have a number of lower power/toughness cards, but the only integral ones do have over 2 toughness. If I used Drown in Sorrows, it would also eliminate a number of my weaker cards that have become outdated (and bloodseeker champion who'd just come back again), which would beef me up for a big Empty the Pits dump. I should add a couple of those in, then. Good idea!

Alright. Feeling a bit more confident.

What about throwing on a Phytotitan? He's pretty nice for blocking. Has a habit of returning to the battlefield and everything!

I completely overlooked/underestimated/misread Villainous Wealth. I went back and looked at it and it would be /very/ useful against a lot of the decks I play against. I could easily swap it in and out with something like hero's downfall, and it'd be particularly easy to cast after a few turns because I /should/ have fairly decent mana on hand. Hmm...

Overall, I think most of the decks are just like... really fast decks. Win quick. But then again, most of my other decks I currently possess are a bit slow, so they are weak against those. That is part of the reason I kept to a rather low CMC across most of my cards, especially creatures, so that I could maintain at least a respectable quick defense.

Thanks for your help so far.

I'm not overly familiar with all of them. There are only a couple people there that I would consider actual veterans. One guy is very good and plays a primarily blue control deck in standard. He has been playing all but three years of magic's existence, so he knows what is going on. I occasionally hear some stuff about Jeskai, but I don't think its overly good, or maybe its just the player. There is one that runs a white heroic deck that was particularly frustrating to play against.

I'm a bit too new to put names to their stuff. :P

Also dumped three Despise into my sideboard.

I was on the fence about Empty the pits. The guys at my FNM told me it was really bad so I was like. Meeeeeeeh...

Even though I repeatedly spawned like 15+ zombies with it. It does feel a bit all over the place at first, but I did sort of focus on certain things. Primarily forcing discard and maintaining it. Its something I think would be particularly brutal in my Meta, as no one else runs anything like it and thus would be fairly unexpected. I've heard a few grumble and complain about their disdain for discard decks, too.

I removed a Dictate of Karametra and added another Empty the Pits for you. :)

Surprisingly enough, for how popular whip decks are on here, no one actually uses one where I am from. :/

I agree with Puschkin. It's really difficult to comment or make suggestions on well-made decks other than to say 'hey, this is awesome!' if you're new or unfamiliar with the cards available. I can sort of do okay in Standard because there are less options, but when it comes to modern I just sort of drool on myself and read comments. Maybe like the page if its something I want to fiddle around with later.

Speaking of which... I'm working on making a standard deck (I'm trying quite hard to make a reasonably competitive capable standard deck) and could use a bit of help with suggestions if anyone is bored or interested. http://www.mtgvault.com/fairemont/decks/sultai-deck/

Active decks is probably the best page.

I tend to prefer casual over tourny play where I am from.

The tournaments are fun, but they are also boring. The decks are all optimized to win the same way every time. No variety, no creativity. Just number crunching and such. I've played one guy twenty+ times and his deck game is always the same. Starts the same. Performs the same. Wins the same way every time.

To me, that is not really that fun. I enjoy having a challenge that isn't just trying to win on turn three or stop my opponent from playing an infinite combo or some stupid thing like that. So, I make my own decks, and between rounds of our tournaments I play casual to pass the time and its more fun that way. I get some of both. I place between third and last of ten to twelve people in our tournaments and tend to win in casual.

So, both are fun. Its sort of silly to say one is blatantly inferior.

You should have some Spawnsire of Ulamog... because just... just look at that ability... Twenty mana to totally screw up /everything/!

Not necessarily. Just general concept of self milling to victory.

I played in draft the other night where I milled and delved. Milled the opponent, Milled myself, delved to Mill, and then Delved to play Empty the Pits for like, 20+ zombies.

Bahahaha!

Yeah. I thought it was neat. Only problem is it /might/ be a little slow. I was thinking of swapping out a few enchantment cards with some draw cards to feed more mana, since the Patron of the Moon can throw mana down really fast. Seems like a good thing. Probably side board it. Play more draws vs faster decks to keep up, more enchantments against decks that are a little slower where I dont need to race them so hard.

Ah. My place is thirty minutes or so and there are typically some people to play against.

My best standard deck seems to be a red/white/splash of black heroic deck. Its reasonably quick and throws down some decent damage backed by some burn. I need to find someone a little more proficient than me to help me make it. xD

I don't typically spend more than fifty on a deck. That changes if I am gushing over a particular card and want it in foil. Totally fell for Flesh Norn... Like three hundred dollars in elesh norns...

Yeah. my moonfolk one is roughly fifty five dollars. So not too bad.

I really need to make one really competitive standard deck that I can play at FNM and maybe win once. XD

I don't think I can though.
