And with this deck not being legal in any format makes that sorta ok.
Yes, but then you are adding a third card to the mix. With Chain of Plasma and just the swan, everything is simple and sweet.
Then start cackling maniacally.
But if you acted as though every land you played was the best card ever. I want to try this.
Good question, however the card does stat that it deals damage THEN the player may discard a card. Since the swan's ability is triggered when it takes damage, and Plasma Capture's damage and discard ability take place at different times, I think it may work.
If you feel like Krenko's Command can be difficult to find every game, Molten Birth is a fine alternative. Do you think some board wipe cards could help with defending yourself, giving you time to grab Strionic Resonator? If you went all fancy and added blue you could open up cards for easier defense and draw spells.
Im just pointing out that there is one format beforehand, wasn't trying to argue anything. This deck is technically modern already, hell it even falls into legacy!
To each his own.
Stuffy doll wouldn't give you the needed card draw.
How would that rule effect modern differently than standard?
It would actually be extended, not necessarily modern.
That would be nice. Another day, maybe.
I think this may be a standard deck.
Thanks for the back up, good sir!
I has white in its mana cost making it unable to run with a mono-black commander.
I always thought that Ob Nixilix, the Fallen was a great EDH card. He gets very large, very fast. And Im not sure how this deck works, but do you think Xathrid Demon might be a nice addition? I know, you have to sacrifice your other large demons, but it may just be worth it. Again, it may not work with this deck. Just a thought.
This deck looks like a great idea! It seems like you rely pretty heavily on Door of Destinies, though. Maybe you could add some other human synergistic cards. Xathrid Necromancer is useful in the early game to counteract removal spells, and Hired Torturer may find use in a sideboard. If you are fine with splashing white in this deck then High Priest of Penance is a nice defensive card, and maybe a sideboard of Sin Collector would be helpful. If this deck isn't made for post rotation and you are fine with adding cards from Innistrad then Mikaeus, the Lunarch is great for a deck like this, and Skirsdag Flayer is just brutal!
While my earlier suggestion was to replace Titanic Growth with Phytoburst, the creator decided to replace Giant Growth instead. It might not be fast enough to beat TWO specific decks, but i don't think I have ever seen BenWare make a non-casual deck. And you didn't say anything to disprove my point other than saying, "Phytoburst is considered a semi-unplayable card" for the second time. As Dudeface said, "That extra one damage on your own turn could mean the difference between losing and winning" is completely correct. Especially with this decks double strike mechanics increasing it from one damage to two.And to reply to Dudeface's earlier comment. You are right, this deck does run heavy defense using rift and Unsummon. I don't really know what I was thinking.
I do think this deck might benefit from some more defensive creatures, though.
