You want multiple target spells.Dauntless works. You are looking for spells with "strive" (Launch the Fleet) or rebound (Emerge Unscathed). Personally, I prefer brave the elements, fortify, disenchant, and oblivion ring for instants. That removal is a godsend. If you go with strive, bring battlefield thaumaturge. He makes strive spells ridiculously cheap. As for herioc ... Fabled Hero, Sage of Hours, and 1 CMC heroic dudes (like Favored Hoplite) are key.

That's a ton of card draw. Combine that with green beasts and mana ramp, and this deck is a beast when it gets going. And those pesky counterspells are sure to get it there.Congrats on making a solid U/B that doesn't rely on the Simic Guild! That being said ... a 0/1 flying bugger with evolve I know wants to be here ....
Well ... Mirran Spy is triggered by an artifact and targets a creature.
Speak to the gauntlet! :)
I like it!
Understood. Thanks for the heads up.
Hmm ... dear wizards, we are running out of expensive golems. What should we do? XD!
Does affinity for artifacts stack?
Still a hilarious card though. The look on your opponent's faces in multiplayer would be priceless. If I showed up with this (with all the cards in the sideboard) could I stand a chance in a vintage tournament? Or would I get my butt handed to me?
We have met? Maybe, dark man.Knights have a tendency to avoid familiarity with necromancers. XD!
Whew ... I just barely got the link in that comment before the 30min edit period expired. If convoke and affinity stack .... you could summon a myr overseer WAY too soon.T1 - Seat of the Synod, Memnite, Ornithopter (drat, I misspelled that before!)T2 - Darksteel Citadel, Chief Engineer, Cathedral Membrane (tap Memnite)T3 - Ancient Den, Holy crap; Mycosynth Golem costs 0 mana (11 base cost - 7 from affinity for artifacts - 4 convoke, use all creatures)That's insane. It's also perfectly possible to cast Master Transmuter turn 2 with Chief Engineer's help.Is there something I'm missing, or is chief engineer designed to speed artifact decks up to the point where they can win in legacy tournaments? 'Cause that's what I'm looking at.Oh, and speaking of legacy ... platinum angel is a must. If you could get it out on turn 3 (master trans on turn 2) with a deck like this (with metallurgeon and dark steel citadel floating around) you might stand a real chance against pretty much every deck in existence. One last jest ... who needs tolarian academy? We have Chief engineer now. =)
Plus, you bring adaptive automaton if your wallet allows, and mustache man, and the deadly fortify + brave the elements combo.Speaking of which, it's a shame that last combo can't belong in this deck. ;)
Sadly, no. Nice catch there. So that's NOT 6 damage to target creature or player, because you have to split it up. I'll change the description.
Just as a side note ... m15 is like the most freaking awesome set ever, in my opinion. It throws back to so many old cards, and it looks like magic is turning back into the wild west it once was. Don't believe me? Look at the new Ob Nix, or Circle of Flames, or Act on Impulse (Well of Fortune anyone?), or freaking CHIEF ENGINEER. If there is a card that will be banned in legacy, it's that last one, because he is ridiculously overpowered, especially combined with affinity or his fellow vedalken buddies or token generators.
Man ... I feel just silly. For pure flavor ... I have to say that my favorite deck so far is Northy's Silly Humans deck ... Yup, doomed traveller sucks. So let's find a use for it and all similar white creatures. Oh Pit Lord! :)
Why vaan, yes you are.MUSTACHE MAN!Veteran armorer, I choose you!XD!
At least Cone of Flame shows that they have recognized that lava axe was underpowered. If only lava axe could target a creature, I would pay 6 CMC for it.

Some of the older artifacts make me smile. KnightoftheHokeyPokey:I want to go back to them ... I mean, some newer cards are begging to be broken. Master Transmuter, for example.KnightoftheHokeyPokey:Basically, run Master Transmuter with Memnite or Orthinopter or Phyrexian Walker and Intruder Alarm to play ALL of the artifact creatures in your hand for one blue mana apiece. Turn 4 minimum for shenanagins.ClockworkCopper397:Master Transmuter is so good it gets overlooked: "Target my Transmuter ok thats fine, back to my hand she goes, oh and look a Blightsteel Colossus!"Jessie:KnightoftheHokeyPokey Check this out, for my funny friend: Master Transmuter, Memnite, Ornithopter, Phyrexian Walker. Intruder AlarmNow add Mirran Spy (Brutal with Master Transmuter). I think that is the start to something beautiful. And might I suggest something like Blightsteel Colossus for the win. As was suggested by ClockworkCopper. Maybe Vedalken Engineer for paying for your blue mana that Transmuter requires. Good luck!ClockworkCopper:She could also feed into a Mycosynth Golem, making all those artifact creatures that much more easier to play. Chief Engineer and Mycosynth Golem could go off insane as well.Kazzong:ok, working on this now. should be done shortly. :)KnightoftheHokeyPokey:Hmm ... may I add to this crazy brainstorm ... dark steel forge. Pop it out on TURN 4 (2 Islands + Vedalken Engineer can summon Master Trasmuter turn 3) and laugh maniacally. And don't get me started on playing that damned 3 mana, power and toughness equal number of creatures vedalken artifact creature dude. That's just cruel. In honor of our collaboration, the deck is to be called ... Jessie and the 3 Mtg Vaulteers. ;)Unfortunately, Master Transmuter doesn't trigger mirran spy because her ability does not CAST a card (similar to show and tell). However, it totally works when memnite or orthinopter or phyrexian walker or shield sphere come and play. One last question ... do convoke and affinity stack? If so, chief engineer and mycosynth Golem are freaking insane.Kazzong:hm... you mean master of etherium? that vedalken? oh, he also pumps other artifact creatures too. :)KnightoftheHokeyPokey:Hmm ... I propose we continue the conversation here:http://www.mtgvault.com/knightofthehokeypokey/decks/kazzong-hokey-and-artifacts/I will post our current discussion so far.
