Thanks for the suggestions. I do prefer Searing Blood since it has always been a solid 5 for 2 everytime I've drawn it in the matches I've brought it into. As well I really like Peak in mirror and against the Chained to the Rocks a few people are running in my meta. Eidolon has hurt me so bad in the past, I just don't like it. I know it has huge potential but it it's at a cost which seems to be harder on me then others.

I do have to agree with most of that and I actually did just build a mono Red deck Wins deck last week which took first at my local FNM. I'm currently pondering the splash of green in mine too.

As well Devour flesh is horrible and should not be played in modern. Geth's Verdict would be better. If your actually going for an extended deck from raviica theroes block then disregard the previous suggestions but replace Devour Flesh with Whip of Erebos

I will second the addition of Obliterator. He's a huge power house.

For side board I would def suggest running 2x Scouring Sands and 1 Circle of Flame for the mirror match. they are very effective. I'm also very much against using fetches for a mono coloured deck. there has been extensive research done which proves the thinning effect will not come into play until around turn 12 using 4 fetches. I also second the suggestion of splashing green for Atarka's Command main board and allows for Destructive Revelry SB.

Read the how to play section. There is a infinite mana combo.

There are 0 creatures in many discard decks and the goal is to devastate the hand so you can play nothing. Liliana's Caress, The Rack and Shrieking Affliction can easily get the job done with all the control in it. So when you do make a SB definitely pack some enchantment/ artifact hate, that probably would go without mentioning it. My best suggestion against burn would be Leyline of Sanctity.

I have a feeling this is to slow for modern. You only have 1 way, 4 cards of putting creatures into your grave yard not until turn 4 and only 1 way 4 cards of reanimating them not until turn 5 . If I'm wrong please enlighten my. You do have decent removal/answers for creature based decks but what is your strategy against burn or discard?

At Aaron; something to keep in mind would be. You could dominate a tournament placing 1st and gain no respect from any other player in the room. But a guy that came in let's say 5th who gave advise along the way to the guys that came in 2nd 3rd will be valued as a better player overall.

Great article Jessie! If I had to choose I'd say I'm a Johnny Aggro/Control player.

You could play Swerve instead of Divert then the deck would be modern legal and it's better card mid to late game anyway.

Playing Skullbriar your main win con should be commander damage. Focus on a bit more of pumps like giant growth, Invigorate would be a great one. One card which will never be let down is Bear Umbra it wins games. More removal is gonna go along way, Beast Within, Song of the Dryads, hero's downfall, or even Reclamation sage as a body with artifact enchantment removal as a ETB effect can be good. Birthing Pod! (enough said). Take advantage of the best tutors which are available to you, Demonic Tutor, Vampiric Tutor, Worldly Tutor. Rune Scarred Demon as a body with a tutor ETB effect. Then add more land 36 should be the minimum. More Dual lands.

First off I don't think Dreadbore is worth having in if it's your only red card with no way to cast it other then with Birds or Joiner Adept. It becomes very situational, Perhaps switch it for Beast Within or Song of the Dryads both have more versatility since they can deal with any non-hexproof permanent. Song of the dryads deals with that pesky Indestructible ability as well. Both I think are worth the extra 1 mana. Other then that I think you should play a few more Basic lands, not getting the benefit from being Pathed or Ghost Quartered sucks. I do like the Joiner adept in case of a Blood Moon |resolving but it seems like it isn't adding to much. Maybe try cutting down to 2 of and add 2 Creakwood Liege. I love that card, pumping our free 3/3s every turn plus pumping all your other creatures.

I'v been having a lot of fun playing this deck and has doe pretty good considering it's a brew. I've had more consistency with my Faster Creature Burn deck which made hot page a few months back but any suggestions to this one would be appreciated.

Speaking of Brood Mother I'm always reminded of the time I successfully had a Followed Footsteps on a Brood Mother. It got out of control, Fast. Was probably the first and last time it was ever successfully pulled off for any length of time.

Why would you want to add Fetches? I'm very much against fetch lands for the sole use of thinning a mono coloured deck. Unless you need some graveyard filling or landfall it's a bad idea. My point has been proven here if you care to read a lengthy article on the subject.

BTW good job on the article Gothy. :) I look forward to future articles geared toward a more addicted player.
