Ayup, that's me. I made another account because I have too many goofy decks with this one. Way too many. I wanted an account for only my serious attempts, and build my goofy decks with this one.

Haunting Echos, Memoricide, Cranial Extraction, Surgical Extraction, Counterbore, Shimian Specter, Extirpate, Lobotomy, Circu, Dimir Lobotomist... to a lesser extent, Maelstrom Pulse, Scalpelexis, Leyline of Singularity, Echoing Truth, Chalice of the Void, Hint of Insanity... umm... Pithing Needle, Phyrexian Revoker, Runed Halo...

The bulk of these cards are key pieces to certain legacy decks, which wouldn't even blink at this deck... and there's still many more 1-card solutions that could ruin this. I'm not saying that to put this deck down, it's a fun build, and has explosive results with the right hand. I'm just saying that you, Sagonheart, would be surprised how vulnerable it really is.

To Burnfreak, I'd suggest 4x Diabolic Intent to tutor out your Thrumming Stones. Without them, this deck is just slow and easy to control. So whatever you can do to help get them into play ASAP will make this deck better.

I think I'm going to work on this one a little more, it's still a little unrefined. But the idea was to be able to pick apart any build I encounter, hence the strong destroy spells. It's still a little too slow, though, so I think I want to add a bit more stall control, since the slow part is the center of the deck (Vindicate and Pernicious Deeds)

Just to let you know, whenever I've ever played with my EDH deck in regular casual magic, or similarly played against an EDH deck, the EDH deck was always good competition. Just saying, you don't have to change the deck at all, just use the EDH deck :)

Yeah, I've noticed. I'd literally kill to get a hold of a set of Tabernacles. And since I'd be betting against a life sentence I might as well go after those Nether Voids as well :P

Really though.. to build my other decks, I'll need Mox Diamonds, Rishadan Ports, and Smokestacks, plus maybe another Crucible or two, and a few other cards. Which is why I was considering starting reanimator now, because I'm pretty sure I can get a hold of the Entombs, then it's just a matter of tweaking.

Oh now I dislike you... Another excessively expensive card that I have to get my hands on a pair of /-: Trinisphere, Nether Void, Winter Orb... hmm, Daze too... I'll have to figure something out for that at some point.

Isn't it nine-thousand? Haha. The problem I've been having with reanimator is the sample hands generated by the Vault have left me wanting. I won't know how much I like it until I play it, but it does seem that there's a very fine balance between reanimation components, card advantage, and control, and one card too many in either direction is enough to cause the entire build to crumble.

Also, interesting fact, when I first made this deck it was originally built Reanimator + Smokestacks and other "each player sacrifices..." creatures, backed up by It That Betrays. It was very uninspired, though, so I changed it to this, which I've been contemplating for the past few days.

That's been the quandary, I'm a very fickle player and jump themes often. :)

After that sample hand, I'm considering experimenting with another Lake of the Dead, which has officially joined the list of cards to always run with Crucible. At this pace, if I keep experimenting with it, I'll have refined it to the point that it is no longer a core set of cards to build a deck around, but a deck in and of itself!

The first sample hand I drew after swapping in Demigod: 2x Swamp, Lake of the Dead, Crucible of Worlds, Bloodghast, Skullclamp, Demigod of Revenge.

Turn 1: Swamp, Skullclamp
Turn 2: Swamp, Bloodghast (drew a 3rd Swamp)
Turn 3: Tap a Swamp, Lake of the Dead, sacrifice tapped Swamp, Buried Alive (bury 3x Demigod's)
Turn 4: Play & tap Swamp, sacrifice Swamp for 4 more B, case Demigod of Revenge and return the 3x others.

Boom.

Strip Mine finds its way into any deck I build with Crucible, which finds its way into any deck I build with Bloodghast, which finds its way into every black deck I build... sooo.. It's pretty much mandated :)

Just replaced Nighthawk with Demigod. I'd like to have a beater just for the sake of it, and he's more fodder for the extra Buried Alives.

Also, question for you. I was just gifted 4x Vindicate from my brother. Do you think I should trade them for Entomb to build reanimator, or keep them? Vindicate is super sweet, but I'm pretty much ready to build reanimator too, all except for the Entombs.. quite a quandary >.>

There's some interesting mill strategies emerging with NPH and M12. I'd love to build one around Jace's Archivist, that guy is sick! Counter a spell with Perplex, then activate Archivist to make sure they have a full hand to discard, meanwhile they mill a few cards from Jace's Erasure.

Also, this deck makes me sad :( I still can't find my Circu.. which doesn't really bother me in and of itself, but that deck had all four of my Mundungu in it and I want to run them in another deck.

And you know the best part about it? I'm not using Crucible of Worlds or Isochron Scepter :D It's funny, when I was finishing up the design, I actually thought to myself "Now how can I make Crucible fit into this..."

Thanks for the props! I'm going to build this one, will only take ~$20 worth of cards to finish it off (dropping the Creeping Tar Pits, unfortunately).. I have an older mono blue version of this, which was a lot of fun to play. It made things difficult for the opponent, but not impossible. So win or lose, it was always a satisfying match. I hope this one will play out just the same, I'll even enjoy losing with it so long as it's not to a Tranquility.

Sundial is one of the most interesting cards I've seen, and I'm glad people are paying attention to it. Knowledge Pool was another interesting card, but wound up being left in the dark for the most part.

Good combos built in here, but what will you do when you don't draw a Sundial? There's not really much for you to do without it.. I'd consider adding a bit more creature presence or control in there before you take it to FNM. Gideon's Lawkeeper, things like that.

By the way, I created another account. My other one was becoming too full with silly/random decks I built out of boredom and/or to save an idea for later when I'd have time to refine it.. Instead of going through and cleaning house, I decided to create another account for my serious decks.

My profile should be easier to navigate now :P So feel free to take a look and comment, your (and others) input is always appreciated! Especially since I'll be looking to buy / trade for some of these cards at some point.
