No, Rancor and Invigorate are really the best cards you could use.

I fail to see how a manaless cycle is "reasonless." 1) It thins your deck by replacing itself (two cards for one) and 2) Knowing what your opponent has has more significant impact than you'd think.
I like the idea of Chandra but I think she's a risky play. 4 mana is difficult to pull off here, especially without spending your Spirit Guides or Opal's metalcraft on a rebirth. You could pull off a first turn Chandra, but at a minimum of five cards used to do so. My main problem is that she's always within bolt range of losing reverberate, unless you use her -2 the turn you cast her but then you need 5 mana. Imo, just hardcasting a reverberate would be more effective in this deck. Also, have you ever noticed that you can pay {R} when you sacrifice Panic Spellbomb to Rebirth to draw a card? I've never noticed that until now O.O For some reason I'd always just assumed the ability to draw a card was inherent to it's ability to self-sac... Check out my Modern Rebirth. I had to "downgrade" it from Legacy, and losing Lotus Petals put a real hurt on the deck, but I think it's adapted well :)
I still think Slate needs to go. It's just too expensive and you'll spend your "free" mana just to cast it, and another turn to activate it. That's two nonproductive turns that you can't afford. More creatures will be your saving grace. Also Lava Spike is unnecessary with Browbeat. That'll free up 4x cards for +1 Mountain and maybe +3 Wardrivers? The battlecry is what really sends the damage potential over the top with Rebirth. Also, I've been trying out 2x Mox Opals and 1x Chrome Mox. It solves the problems I've had with 3x Opals and works a /lot/ better than my just 2x Opals. It's great when you exile a Simian Spirit Guide to it, since it's expected to be exiled anyways :) Just note that Chrome Mox reads "you may remove a card..." so you can cast is without imprinting anything, and it just won't produce mana, but will still serve as 0-cost sac fodder.
D: You beat me to it! I was totally planning on making an unblockable deck once Innistrad was added to the Vault, with Invisible Stalker and 'the kitties.' Invisible Stalker {1}{U} Creature - Human Rogue Hexproof Invisible Stalker is unblockable. 1/1
Cards printed in Time Spiral: Timeshifted are modern legal :) Even though they don't have a modern border. magiccards.info and gatherer both have modern card legalities updated.
This will dominate FNM. "Mulligan. All lands. Mulligan, all lands again. Ah, okay, I'll keep. I play a plains and pass."
I don't think it ruins the deck, just requires a little rearranging. Slate of Ancestry goes for sure, and Browbeat is a must have the more I think about it. That card literally wins games :)
I know which card you're talking about :) It's called Moment's Peace. I excluded it because Flash Back removes it from the game and I want to shuffle my fogs back into my library via Elixir of Immortality. However, in looking for the name of that card I found another "fog" like spell I forgot about ^-^ Tangle, such a good card for multi-player!
Huh.. you know, Skirk Prospector isn't legal :( It was only reprinted in Onslought and two non-legal sets (Vs.)
I agree about the lens, I only run them because of Gaveleer and if I expire my hand and am left with only a few creatures, it's either extra damage to bring them within bolt / grenade range, or it's extra cards. Try Browbeat. It absolutely !murders! with this deck :)
Ah, once again I've underestimated bombing your opening hand XD I don't quite run this much mana accel in my KDR, so I typically consider Bushwhacker to be either a second turn battle cry or third/fourth turn saving grace for a late game Rebirth (because you know, turn 3 and 4 should be end game for this deck :P)
Ah, you're right about that. Kuldotha Red is all about bombing an opening hand on the opponent. Problem I've had is the consistency of the draw, though. I've opened too many times with two Moxen and no Rebirths. Of course, that's a mull, but KDR doesn't like mulling too much -- it already suffers from the boom/bust of dropping a full hand by turn 2 and one less card can make the difference when you're within bolt range of winning, but don't have the card advantage to swing it. I see Gaveleer in your SB. I run him in my KDR with a pair each of Viridian Claws and Skullclamps (it's casual, so /shrug/), mostly because I don't have any Guides :( He is /sick/ with battlecry, though! The claws I add because it adds survivability to my Wardrivers, which I find necessary some games due to the aforementioned boom/bust quality of the deck. Turning Gaveleer into a beast is just a perk :) Also, it's slower but I've been favoring Perilous Myr over Furnace Scamp. Something you might want to experiment with, just personal preference though. Once again, he helps compensate for when I don't get the perfect opening hand and suffer the whole boom/but spiel.
When this drops from standard, add Soldevi Excavations. When it's released, Snapcaster Mage would be a fine addition as well. He provides a chump blocker and is you Treasure Hunt into him, you can always cast him and flash back Treasure Hunt.
Also, Bushwhacker is great for a nut draw, but I've had more consistent success with Goblin Wardriver.
+4x Simian Spirit Guide (-2 Mox Opal, -2 Skirk Prospector) Just my opinion ^-^ Haven't had great success running more than 2x Opals, especially in red which needs useful top-decks. Running more than needed could easily lose you the game when you draw one on your fourth turn.
Viscera Seer is obscenely good in this deck. Consider this: Viscera Seer + Melira + any Persist = "Search your library for a card and put that card on top of your library." Also, Skullclamp is some of the best card advantage in the game. Thanks for the comment, but I'm sorry, I have to disagree on all cases. Except that the mana base could use some tweaking, but if anything then only -1 or -2 forests for +1 Godless Shrine and/or +1 Marsh Flast. As a matter of fact I'm doing that now :)
Aye, that's the painful part. Zoo decks start at $800+, $400 of which are just the lands, the other $400 are just the Tarmogoyfs. So many other decks are like that, too. Like SWN's extractors, $350 of the deck is just one land :P
I just ran a variant of this in casual multiplayer, minus Avenger, Arbiter, Abolisher, Ghost Quarter, and Path, plus SFM, Swords to Plowshares, and a few janky first strike creatures (still working on getting the pieces to finish this). I joined late, sometime around turn 3 against a red deathtouch timmy, black zombies, big green, and vampires. And I /dominated/ ! The red deck could have annihilated me, so part of the victory is due to good politicking.. but still, one of the best matches I've played in a long while ^-^ I <3 this deck!
