To be honest it surprises me that the deck does as well as you claim it does. It might have all the right ingredients but in my opinion it needs a lot of work to be really good (Your rot revival deck will eat this one with ease). A basic principle is not to play every creature 4 times, only the ones in you want in your opening hand and can get on the board within the first 3 turns that or you really need them for some combo trigger.

and 4 armadillo cloaks. The chances that phyrexian arena will kill you are extremly unlikely. What it will do is ensure you can keep up with fast growing decks like slivers or kithkin/white weenie and it will also be your recover from damnation/wrath when facing control. I would not run less then 22 mana simply because with the extra card each turn you want a lot of mana to play everything you can.

I'll check that angelfire deck

Quirion Dryads are very good in a deck with removal, so they can grow while you remove any real threat. But I did not put them into my version simply because I don't have them.
I dropped the watchwolfs, and maximized putrefy and mortify and added one more Doran in my version.

You should not fear a phyrexian Arena in this type of deck, First it's your choice to play it and second with the hitti ng power you have it is way too slow to be suicide. Also don't forget you are running 4 Hierarchs

Doran is obviously better then watchwolf so I would have gone for 4xDoran If I could get my hands on them. Cutting Mortify and Putrefy down by one each hurts but I'm not sure where I can cut to get them both back to 4. Maybe drop 2xSearch for tomorrow or two birds depending on which deck your opponent plays (sideboard adjustment). Against burn the search for tomorrow is the better choice IMO.

I wish I could build this deck myself but I only have 1xDoran and I don't think I'll get my hands on the new fancy 3 color lands easily. Also I would have to tweak the land base. In my opinion 6 shock lands might be too painful even in a lifegain deck. I like the Pillars but I would push the land base slightly more towards forest to ensure dropping birds in turn 1 or turn two. I would also concider Search for tomorrow.

If you like you can throw me a mail at: treedeeman at hotmail...

yeah Doran is a good pick if you have access to him, I had not concidered the synergy with souls. Hierarchs are made for this deck, hard life gaining aggro and a turn 3 drop. Even better, Heirarchs are great if you can reanimate them, I often combo them with Genesis.
The only thing I'm missing in your last build (and I still think you have to many Tenebs) is a draw engine. Concider something like Phyrexian Arena. Card advantage will make this deck killer and fill it's weak spot.

Another place where you can win a few cardslots is to cut a few damnations. As you have 8 removal cards, lifegain and a few early game blockers you won't have to bother with damnation all that often. Only against fast swarm decks or maybe to remove an Akroma the damnations will be useful. This means you can safely move two or even all of them to your sideboard.
I'd use the gained cardslots for mana acceleration/fix on top of the birds. Maybe a deathrender or two would be fun as well.

My kind of deck, I like it a lot. I just don't get why you would waste card slots on 4xTeneb and 2xKnell when both are late game cards, you only play 20 land and you are likely to kill your birds with damnation. I don't see the purpose of Doran either unless you just like him because he's an underpriced 5/5 and allows you to hit with your birds :)

I would love to play my blood moon control deck against this one, lol :)

Yeah, I had the same problem with Horn of Greed but that was because I didn't have trample. If you have a big Vinelasher you'll need a way to give it trample. Ofcourse you use cloacks so it can't be blocked which will do just as well. Milling yourself won't be a problem once that cloak is attached and your opponent doesn't play mass removal.
With your setup, how do you play 7 lands in one turn ?

I play a simular bounce combo but it is build around Tidespout Tyrant which is a much harder creature to remove then a 1/1. If you want to stick to Cephalid Constable you'll need to equip it. I suggest a Sword of Fire and Ice which protects you from burn decks and accellerates drawing cards.

I like it. I don't like Rites of Flourishing that much as land bounce recovery as you will give your opponent an additional benefit on top of bouncing your own lands.
You can accelerate playing land with the following options:

Clear the Land+Scouting Trek
Mulch + Scouting Trek + Summer Bloom
Horn of Greed (nice draw engine for land bounce)
Journey of Discovery

Lure if Pray might save you though, wild pairs are wasted cards. Better to build this deck around mana accelleration and play those swallowers for their cost. Coiling Oracle, Search for Tomorrow, Birds, bounce or blink those Oracles etc... Blue-Green is excellent for getting land fast.
Kavu Lair might be an option although you don't have that many big creatures and it's probably just win more.

Everything is build around 4 pipers, All your opponent needs to do is get rid of the first on you play and chances are good you will be dead before you draw the next one.
Lightning Greaves will not help against counter and will not help against burn because they will burn your piper when lightning greaves equip is on the stack.
4 counter spells won't help unless you want to wait until you have 6 mana open before playing piper and even then it's just one counterspell.

looks like a very slow deck to me. squirrels aren't that fast to begin with and you waste time with silly late game cards like Nut Collectors. Tell us after a few test games how the deck performed and how many squirrels you managed to create uder 6 turns.

Hermits are good, Parallel Evolution is good, Chatter is good, Acorn Harvest isn't bad, Earthcraft rules...

well of lost dreams is excellent in a lifegain deck. Also don't put too much faith in an avatar token, even a common terror kills it. In the games I'm playing I don't even bother with the avatar. An Akroma is way better as finisher for a mono white life gain deck.

you don't have shield of Kaldra ? A darksteel collossus with worldslayer would be an easier combo to form then Kaldra.

go for 22 lands as most of your cards are 3 mana or more you will want to drop mana every turn for the first 4 turns. Drop the Graven Cairns and the Tresserhorn Sinks, 8 duals will do just fine, take basic land for the rest. You can easily drop 1 King, 1 Mob, 1 Harbringer and 1 Commander.
