doomdirk: thanks, I really like those option, I'll try them. Do note that Garruk and Elspeth are actually my token generators to polymorph. They do a better job then martial coup as creating a token won't cost me any mana and I'll be casting polymorph a lot earlier in the game.

sealer24: I think my chances against weenie decks are quite good, I just stall by fogging, blow everything up with Day of Judgement and play Iona on their main color or their removal color (most of the time that's white).

What bothers me in this version is the acceleration and mana curve. Khalni Heart Expedition needs fetch land to be effective and even then I can't trigger it before turn 4. I might be better of with rampant growth. That said with 8 fog efffects maybe I don't need to accelerate all that fast. A turn 6 Iona might be just fine. Still I'm going to see what I can change to smooth things out.
I want to play birds and lotus cobra but then I'll have to drop polymorph and it will become yet another deck.

Thanks guys, good comments, I appreciate that and I totally agree with what's being said. If I run something like Rhox War Monk which is the earliest lifegaining creature available, the chances of running into immediate spot removal are huge against most decks in the format.
I was already concidering Sunspring Expedition and now that it's suggested I'll try it. However with the lack of carddraw in the format it is difficult to run 4 copies of a card that just gains 8 life and not even immediatly, late game it's just dead. Angel Song is the other option I'm concidering, I think it might be better to fog 1 turn then to gain 8 life. The deck will change a great deal so I'll just create a new one instead of changing this one. You can follow the progress here

yeah, good suggestions but still, I'm testing this against my Red Deck Wins deck and it just doesn't stand a chance. It needs early game (first 3 turns) protection because by turn 4 it's too late.

I like the deck, clockspinning is a nice touch, I will use that one :).
I would not say rout is a budget version of Wrath, rout can be the better spell in draw go decks.
I would decrease the number of nimbus mazes as they can screw you early on and you have a lot of non basic lands. If you play Arcane Denial instead of Counterspell your mana base will be so much easier to fine tune, that and arcane denial is one of the best counters out there if used well.

As for doomdirk's deck, don't jump to conclusions that fast. They have simularities but they are clearly different decks. Both have nice picks. Besides, there's nothing wrong with improving existing decks, it's the foundation of progress.

you cannot run this deck on 16 swamp, try 22 instead (though without seeing the mana curve it's hard to guess). 22-23 works well for a 5 mana card like Lilliana vess.

ok, it seems to be valid and well placed in the current meta. Good luck with the deck and sorry bout the confusion. I was always under the impression that permanents din't leave or enter play simultaniously while this is untrue. It's the triggers that you can stack how you choose. Before a combo like this this misconception was never an issue.
Anyway, you might be better of running this deck instead of zoo faterall if you feel comfortable with it. From the research I did it actually seems to be one of the better decks.

LOL I didn't get it until seras pointed it out :) I'm with seras on this one. You need 5 mountains in play and only the sixed mountain will deal the first 3 damage. Permanents don't enter simultaniously, you chose the order they come in play. So valakut, mountain, mountain, mountain, mountain, mountain, and then the next mountain will deal 3 damage :)

Yes decks have 75 cards if they include a sideboard, what planet do you play on?
This is T2, there are no counterspells being played aside from negate and aggro doesn't play negate. If it wasn't for the dodgy landbase this deck desimates aggro. It still does but as I said the mana base needs work. I can easily see it beat vampires for instance. I think you just don't have any experience with control decks. With last years landbase this deck would be good when piloted well.

I don't play extended (only legacy and T2) so you are right, I don't get your build. You can accelerate into what, 7 land by turn 4 if everything works out really well, then what? Zoo will kill you before you can ever do lethal damage and that's without all their lifegain.
I'm not really familar with the rest of the decks in the format but I'm guessing you'll have a hard time surviving long enough to survive into mid game where you might start hurting them. No offense intended it's just an observation. In my opinion if you have to play Valakut play it 4 times, use green to ramp and red to burn. You can't make a GR build better by putting blue into it for a few counterspells and a bit o bounce.
My mono red legacy deck kills in 4 turns and is a good matchup against many legacy decks but it can't deal with a lifegain extended zoo build. So I'm guessing your deck can't either.

Negate in main and terminate in side would indeed be a lot better. The mana base is the main issue. I need 3 colors early game, URW. Without proper fetchable duals that don't enter tapped this deck is a gamble anyway you put it. Against Jund it will loose despite all the removal as it can't keep up with Sprouting Thrinax and cascade. The deck concept however is strong.
The reason for the lack of walls (wall of denial would be good) is Day of Judgment, but it's not that big an issue . Playing a creatureless deck has it's benefits though.

Why play less then 4 valakut's?? They are not legendary so having 4 of them in play is something you should go for at all times. 12 damage per mountain !

looks pretty solid, nice deck!!!
Think about including an eqquipment or two that boosts power. Equipment will have a nice synergy with Xathrid Demon and it will make all your smaller creatures real threats as well increasing the pressure this decks puts on your opponent. An equipped bird of paradise won't be a dead card late game and a Vampire Nighthawk will be a lot more effective.
Sigil of Distinction is a good Type II choice for your deck with all the mana acceleration you're packing. Trusty Machete is also a good choice.

try this

- 24 Forest
- drop Coalition Relic and Beastmaster Ascension, both are bad in this deck
- 1xOverrun instead of 4 (that makes 2xoverrun with Garruk which is enough)
- Play creatures of manacost 6 or more a maximum of 2 times (not 4)
- play more mana acceleration like Rampant Growth, Khalni Heart Expedition and Harrow, these spells you need 4x
- play more small creatures to protect you early on
- The lotus cobra's don't really do anything in this list. I wish I had 2 of them, I would put them to good use :)

LOL, listen to these guys man, Eye of Storm works for all players and the text is very clear about that. Maybe you should stick to easier cards until you get a better crasp on the game. Eye of storm can create complex situations.

What an aweful deck! You should learn about building on a mana curve. Your spells are so late game with no early game protection that the deck is guaranteed to loose against all but the worst of decks. You probably haven't even tested this deck because your landbase alone will kill you game after game.
You even play spells like Coat of Arms to help your opponents win.

it's not entirely clear, I get the Breath of fury/essence warden/nature's will potential infinite attack phases/and new creatures for infinite life gain but how do you give the sappo's you create haste so they can keep on attacking right after they are created ?

- a card like Kodama's Reach is far better then Overgrowth for the same cost
- I don't see Coiling Oracle
- Priest of Titania is not really adding a lot, why not play Sakura-Tribe Elder

I like the focus of the deck, you kept creatures to a bare minimum, just a focussed kill BUT you don't have discard options. It's either play buried alive or die.
I'd put in a few options to dump cards like smallpox, avatar of discord, etc...
I always play these kind of decks blue/black because of the many draw/discard options blue offers.
