Yeah it's a fun one. Always like backwards decks.

Thanks man. I think I have Celestial Mantle in here actually. As for removal stuff, so far using this I haven't seen it as a problem, since once big ol' Uril shows up, not much gives me pause. =]

I'm glad you like it, since this is my first one, and I was worried it wouldn't be good.

I know! I mean, sure...It'll probably still make most standard players crap their pants, but damn it the deck just doesn't have that "feel" to it.

They were. I wish I could go back in time and play a turn 2 Leatherback Baloth against players back then. I'd probably give those guys a heart attack =P

My other deck can kill on turn 2 or 3...

This one either kills on turn 5 (maybe) or on turn 4 if I *HAPPEN* to get tainted strike. But turn count is not the only indication of a deck's speed. This standard version lacks that in-your-face "shock value" that forces people to make mistakes. Without that extra agression, the opponent is free to calmly consider each play, and since it takes 4-5 turns minimum for this version to win, they have plenty of time to work out defenses against it. It just drives me nuts. =/

Oh, and since this is a black sacrifice deck, it is naturally very fast. Thus you don't need 21 lands. Hell, you'd be fine with 18 I think, but if that's too far from your comfort zone, shoot for 20. Then my other suggestions is to lose the Disfigures and get yourself some Grasp of Darkness. Then look into adding some Bloodthrone Vampire(s) and maybe also some Cadaver Imps for flying defense (even though DoDG will help out in that department).

My final thought is that maybe this is a bit too "stuffed" full of spells. If I were to make this deck, I'd just go all-out psychotic aggro and swing for the fences.

...Maybe I should see how I could make a standard version of my deck...*Sigh* god damn I hate standard...

I've never liked Reassembling Skelly. To me he seems more useful for control-based sacrifice decks where as Bloodghast is obviously for more aggro sacrifice decks.

Oh, and lose the Seers and get yourself some Bloodghasts if you can.

Not bad for how vomit-inducing slow standard is recently =]

(I get royalties to this deck though =P )

It speeds up the deck or aids in "deck thinning". You basically increase the probability of drawing something you want. You'll notice I try to put fetchlands into most of my decks.

As for why them versus, say...Misty Rainforest, the art is cooler =]

Great treefolk deck except you're missing the best treefolk of all -- Timber Protector.

Yep. Mimic Vat is pretty fun since it can lead to lots of interesting things. Necrotic Ooze is also fun for essentially the same reason.

If you add Necrotic Ooze, then you should add in Forbidden/Exotic Orchard. If you also add in the very fun Blood Seeker, then you should use the Forbidden Orchard instead.

Actually I'd have to disagree with you. Splashing is insanely easy for turboland decks like these. He can grab one of his plains so fast it's funny. If anything, I'd suggest he pulls out 1-2 plains and adds 1-2 more forests.

Haha add me in dude. My playgroup still plays with the old rules. There was nothing wrong with any of them...at all.

The new trample + deathtouch is just asinine, and no mana burn?! ARE YOU JOKING?! I've seen countless new players tap all their lands to play a spell because they don't worry about mana burn, yet they could have used the leftover mana for more spells!

These new rules are not only pointless and counter-intuitive, they make bad players!

Hehehe I have a deck similar to this called "Choke". This is pretty cool though.

Well that's the idea behind the Leyline, the Iso-seek, and the Elixir. With those, it's nigh impossible to harm me enough to win, and if you do, I'll shake your hand and say "Well done".
