Until Gatecrash, the only problem with Esper control is the lack of a solid Finisher apart from Entreat. Souls, paired with Sorin can poitentially provide you the pressure you need, but a Miracled Entreat, even for 2-3 mana is going to get you much further, 1 Entreat definitely has a home in your main. JMA and Drownyard are your best win conditions until Gatecrash and you can run Obzedat, I'd run at least 2 copies of JMA.

Psychic Spiral is also pretty fantastic, you should play test a single copy.

Dunno how valuable 4 Unearth is, in a deck running only 12 creatures. Your sideboard could use a ton of revising if you're seriously considering this deck for competitive play. Also, Force of Will. You could consider going Esper to add STP, sideboard PTE and EE. Going Esper would also allow you to play Stoneforge Mystic. Also, 22 lands is way too much for a legacy deck like this. Maybe it works for Creeping Tar Pit, even then, it seems like entirely too much. I'd drop to 20 if you're set on 4 copies of tar pit, or dropping to 2 tar pit and running 18 lands.

Also, this deck completely desecrates Ascension/Storm/Twin.

My Modern deck I've been play testing on Cockatrice. I've had solid matches against everything tier 1(Tron, Jund, Melira Pod, RUG Tempo, UG tempo, Infect, Faeries, etc)

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I will comment and rate back.

I'd drop Pest and Architect for 3 Invisible Stalkers and a Mirran Crusader. the Stalkers add so much pressure, and they double up as incredible blockers once you get a pike opn them mid/late game. Crusader is a nice substitute, but not replacement to being able to run 4x Geist. They're definitely worth considering.

Check out mine if you get the chance, it may give you some ideas. I'd like to hear your experiences/thoughts on the archetype, especially if you have FNM experience.

I'd run 4 Mirran Crusaders over the Drakes and Looters. They're not expensive at all, and will get you much, much further than the other two creatures.

Have you actually play tested this much? I'm running a Mageblade deck myself that I consistently win/place at FNMs with. I really don't like the idea of Thought Scour as a means of fueling the pike, I think there are much better options you can run in its place. Single Dismember, Faith's Shield or two, Revoke Existence/Divine Offering or two(yes, mainboard. The current meta is running rampant with swords, birthing pod decks, wolf run is using spheres, solemns, etc.)

Mirran Crusader is the same CMC, and totally beats face. It's also /much/ cheaper than Geist. Nayaguy is right, though; There's no replacement for either Geist or Snapcaster(especially Snapcaster, you could probably get away with a similiar build running Mirran Crusader in Geists place).

Is your board tuned for your metagame? 4x Celestial Purge seems like quite the commitment. I'm running 2x Revoke Existence mainboard, and a third plus a Divine offering SB, and I almost /always/ board the other two in. In the overall meta currently, most decks are running swords, then there are Birthing Pod decks, Wolf Run uses a number of artifacts, Esper control uses a number of artifacts and enchantments, random decks using obliviong ring, etc. They're just so valuable, I think adding more would get you further than 4 Celestial Purge.

Pretty sure Sol Ring is restricted in Vintage. So, at most, you can only run one copy.

I could be wrong, but Heritage Druid only really seems decent if you're using the Nettle Sentinel combo, I'd suggest Priest of Titania or Elvish Archdruid over her. I used to have an Elf Token deck that ran Essence Warden. If you get one or two of her early game, she /completely/ spirals out of control, with so many tokens entering on your side of the field, your life total is going to be unbreakable for a lot of decks. Wellwisher is great for this sort of thing, as well.

I would also add 2-4 copies of Wirewood Lodge to the deck for a little more recursion. Maybe some fetch lands for deck thinning(I like to do an even balance of dual/basics and fetch lands).

I'd run Summoning Trap and Genesis Wave over Commune and Lead the Stampede.
