this doesnt look too bad for a first time deck honestly but it could definetly use improvement,
as Afobe mentions above it would probably be best to work out a theme or idea for your deck to use beforehand and then tweak the design, i dont want to sound like some douchey know-it-all but there are some rather obvious flaws with the design.

here is a brief run-down of things you may want to consider in no particular order (i understand that as a new player you probably don't have access to or may not want to spend money on expensive cards so i will not say anything about that)

1) increase your consistency, having a bunch of one and two of's makes your draws much more haphazard

2) decide on what type of deck you are trying to make, this will also increase consistency and will make it play much smoother

3) you have a few cards maindecked that dont really seem to belong there (ie. rootbound crag doesnt contribute anything because you have no green, at best it is a mountain, at worst it is a mountain that comes in tapped) once you have decided on a deck type (aggro, control, burn, ect.) you have to remove the cards that won't contribute to the overall idea.

Have you considered Altar's Reap? It seems like it would work well with your emmisary/simulacrum and with the overall idea of putting creatures into your graveyard.

looks like it works quite well, mimic vat is an awesome card.
have you considered lilliana's spectre? if they are top-decking and you have one on the vat you can create a token at the beggining of their upkeep and force them to discard before they can play anything (unless it is an instant).

P.S. ulamog would not work on the vat either as his effect only goes off when you cast him, though if you consistently have enough mana to cast him i would play him vat or not.

i would reccomend putting mental misstep in the sideboard for this, any black deck that has inquisition/duress/despise can use it first turn and then pay 2 life to surgical extract your exarch or splinter twin.

reassembling and sarkhan the mad are also excellent

i would reccomend
-2 traitorous instinct
+1 mark of mutiny
-1 fume spitter
-1 panic spellbomb
-1 jinxed idol
+4 lightning bolt

PERCY!!!! if you can afford him :)

also i have play tested gull-draz assasin and found him to be extremely good in my black/red sac deck as a mid-game mana-dump; your deck seems built more around speed though so he might not be as good in yours

lavaclaw reaches are also a good mid/late game mana-dump

unforchenetly it does not, i play something very similar to this so i checked it out and gruesome encore exiles the creature at end of turn so there is no point in gaining control of it

I do not know if you have considered it or not yet but splinter twin on an acidic slime ( or a manic vandal with liquimetal out) will let you destroy a land every turn.

if rot wolf is only there for the card draw i would suggest that you put in sign in blood to replace it.

if your looking for cheap (money wise) epuipment then trusty machete and piston sledge are both good candidates
if you find that you have trouble getting the quests off before people destroy them then mabye side-deck wall of omens and steppe linx
hope that helps a bit, white is not my forte

pls check out my deck to and leave a comment

cool deck, does it actually win?
you could add in explore for getting out lands quicker
garruk could be usefull to since he could help ramp or use his untap to pretty much give them vigilance

all i can say is where are the consuming vapors? it was by far the best black removal out of eldrazi, every black deck should run at least 2

i have a fun idea :)
since you are pretty much murding yourself anyways why not run deaths shadow in there?
when you are at one life he is a 12/12 for 1black mana
it never hurts to have multiple win conditions.

please let me know what you think of my deck

you cant go wrong with sun titan, he can recurr most of the cards in your deck; you could also add in signal pest and/or contested war zone for added power in the early game. Looks good so far, knight decks are pretty solid right now.

please let me know if you have any ideas for my deck

it seems to me that myr galvanizer is the backbone of any myr deck, since your only white card is tempered steel anyways i would reccomend putting in splinter twin and/or cryptoplasm; it could conceivably almost triple your chances of getting the infinite mana combo and at the very least would help pump up the rest of your myrs. Apart from that it looks quite well-balanced, good work!

P.S. please let me know if you have any ideas for my deck........
