Kazzong,

If you look closely there are 4 Burning Inquiry in the deck already.

Yes, I considered mindcrank. In the original version of the deck I had mindcrank instead of megrim. It still is a good idea. I just like having more sources discard damage in the deck.

Yes, blightning is nice. But Burning Inquiry and Wheel of Fortune are so much better in this deck.

I guess I could take out a few counterspells or dark rituals for Blightning. Let me know if it better.

The deck is deliberately creatureless. Any anti-creature cards the opponent has in their deck are pretty much dead cards. This is sometimes referred to as virtual card advantage.

Hi gugajrf,

Generally a nice deck. There isn't much room for improve on it (except adding steam vents)as long as you are trying to keep the deck Standard format. You are missing a sideboard for tourney play. Here's one to give you some ideas.

Sideboard:
2 Mental Misstep,
2 Spellskite
2 Sylvok Replica
2 Grim Lavamancer
2 Negate
2 Spell Pierce
3 Arc Trail

Hi Lord of the Planeswalkders,

Like the general idea of your deck abusing Melira. But I spotted some errors.

The combo Melira + Devoted Druid can not make infinite mana because the -1/-1 counter does not go on, and the druid therefore can not untap. Melira prevents you from paying the cost, which prevents the activated ability from being used.

Here what a nice core for your deck could look like this:

4x Melira, Sylvok Outcast
4x Murderous Redcap
4x Kitchen Finks
4x Viscera Seer
4x Bloodthrone Vampire

Any sac outlet (Ashnod's Altar for Example) + Murderous Redcap with Melira in play is instant kill.
Melira + Kitchen Finks with any sac outlet is infinite life.
Melira + Bloodthrone + Kitchen Finks is a very large number/very large number beater.
Melira + Viscera seer + Kitchen Finks let's you know the entire sequence of your library and lets you tutor for any card (a.k.a. Redcap) every single turn.

What's missing is assembling the combo (Viscera Seer can help there too) and protecting the Combo. Add Fauna Shaman, Birthing Pod and Thoughtseize and this could go somewhere.
I'll post a deck like this soon.

Hey no problem EthanLewis,

Thanks for checking with Judge.

This just means I didn't understand the trick completely. Trick will still work
with creatures that don't shuffle themselves back into the library after hitting the graveyard.

Will make a few modifications to adjust to the information.

Wiill change Goryo's Vengeance to Corpse Dance and replace Emrakul with Pathrazer of Ulamog and fix introduction to reflect new understanding.

Thanks again for taking the time to enlighten me.

Hi WhiteAndBlueTheyKillYou,

Ever thought of using Defense Grid in the side board, its great against blue control if you can sneak out after a Thoughtseize or Duress to remove any bounce or counter.

Defense Grid
Artifact, 2 (2)
Each spell costs {3} more to cast except during its controller's turn.

nanoex1,

Nice deck, but the 4 Mox Emerald's sort of puts the cost of the deck it out of reach for most gamers. The substitution of Lion's Eye Diamond for Mox Emerald unfortunately just doesn't do the job because you've got to discard your hand and most land destuct decks hate to discard cards from hand.

Land Grant is the cheapest good substitute I can think of for the Mox Emerald.

Adding threats like Thrun, the last Troll and Great Sable Stag at the expense of some of your non-splinter spells might make the deck stronger.

Obviously Choke, Autumn's Veil, Insist should be in your sideboard.

Hi EthanLewis,

Nice beginning of a deck, but currently it's at 56 cards. Is there any reason you've left off 4 cards?

Hi Archiphres,

I've really not gotten into building Modern decks yet. It is so much easier to remember all the cards that are banned in Legacy format to figuring out if a card is legal in Modern format.

I never build decks by looking at the actual cards and that is the way I understand you can tell if a card is Modern legal the edge style is different. And who can remember if the card was printed before or after 8th edition?

Still looking at your deck some cards you might consider adding are
1. Æther Vial This card is found in many weenie decks as a means around heavy permission decks.
2. In a Goblin deck Goblin Matron and Goblin Chieftain tend to be petty strong cards.

Hi deathtyrant5000,

Glad you like the deck. But personally I don't think this deserves to be called an amazing deck it only has a very simple trick. The complex decks like those made by surewhynot, EthanLewis, raggedjoe, bnagurski and many others are truly amazing decks.

Making decks that abuse a simple trick like Treasure Hunt are just silly fun to me.

But if you want to make really amazing decks try abusing themes in Magic. Truly amazing decks abuse themes like affinity, extraction, storm, creature search, and so on.

This deck you could say is one trick pony, that's why I named the deck as I did. It's a stupid trick that would never win in tournament play, but would perhaps bring out a couple laughs in group casual play.

Anyway thanks for very nice comment hope you have fun with the deck.

If you have any decks you'd like me to look at let me know.

Hi Archiphres

I just echo agnorak262 thoughts.

Sword of Feast and Famine or Sword of Fire and Ice over Sword of Vengence.

Dispel or Cancel instead of Stoic Rebuttal.

You've made a nice deck but I really think U/B control or what ever is the meta-deck that is anti U/B is the way to go right now in Standard.

Hi agnorak262,

Happy to see that the Treasure Hunt deck type I orginated is inspiring others to new variations.

I also just want to say that this deck idea as far as I know originally was first talked about by Archiphres

See his comment on my

I also I made a very similiar deck to this and posted it a week ago and got no comments so I deleted it.

Glad to see that it is getting some recognition now.
