I HATE Planeswalker cards, to no end. They are TERRIBLE unlike most new players will tell you. They dont stay in play long and they dont really change the game much, Garruk is honestly one of the only good ones and in this deck, he is pretty much perfect because he can untap your Gaea's Cradle and a Lodge or cause a overrun effect for you very fast. If anything, I would cut him immediantly but this came to mind really quick and he is strictly better than playing Overrun (Nother overrated card)

This is what I would play:

4 Fyndhorn Elves
4 Llanowar Elves
4 Priest of Titania
4 Quirion Ranger
4 Heedless One'
4 Timerwatch Elves
2 Eladimir, Lord of Leaves
2 Rofellos, Lanowar Emissary
4 Wirewood Herald
4 Sylvan Messenger

4 Skullclamp

2 Garruk, the Wildspeaker

2 Gaea's Cradle
2 Wirewood Lodge
14 Forest

Enjoy my friend.

You should only need 2 or 3 lands in your starting hand. Alot of Mana problems comes from shuffeling the deck. I usually sperate my cards into 7 piles and then put them all together and really shuffle it really well to avoid clumps. My Domain deck runs 19 lands and I always am fine when it comes to mana. Alot of my decks dont play many lands, have a look.

BTW, always keep your deck at 60 cards, ALWAYS. It helps keep the deck consistant and by playing lots of 3 and 4 ofs you have a better deck that runs off statistics and not luck.

Mana is not based on cards in deck, its based on average casting cost of cards in deck and how much you need to use mana. In a typical Elf deck you pry will only need around 18 lands because the best elves are REALLY cheap and usually make mana on their own. Lanowar Elves, Fyndhorn Elves, Priest of Titania... etc etc... Gaea's Cradle is also perfect for Elves and so is Rofellos.

Yeah thats true Deus, I hate when people just grab Slivers and throw em into a pile and go! HOLY %$^T I am god lol! No, I am not saying this bad. What I am saying is the core cards for something better are here. I know I would be playing more than Green for Type 2.

The general idea is here though, Landfall is going to be huge in Zendikar and in Type 2.

Good try at type 2 Subway, but this person does not make a comment about what format he is playing in. I play Legacy and Vintage, so I do not even have to defend my words because I play in formats with strictly more powerful cards. Also, even I know what is good in Type 2 without even playing it often.

To many Valakut though, need to play 2 not 4. The Legendary rule will screw you over at some point. Honestly, you pry wont use it much.

Lightning Helix, Swiftblade... Good Man, you do know that with Umezawa's Jitte attached to Boros Swiftblade you get 4 Counters instead of 2? Might wanna look into that!

Personally, I will just say this and pry get flamed, but Planeswalkers arent really that good. Just throwing that out there, they were honestly pretty much devised to hook players into the game more. I would rather have more creatures to help out instead of something that comes into play, and dies the next turn to a good player who will just get rid of it immediantly. Lotus Cobra would be perfect here, even the Quest card that lets you get 2 lands would help out amazingly here. Nice deck though, I really think Type 2 is finally getting out of its f ed up form with combo finally and will end up like this. +1
