I know it's a book, but why is it the deck's title?

There are a lot of arguments for and against lifegain tactics in EDH, and I for one think with certain generals, it's a completely viable tactic. Trostani is one of those generals. Built right and you won't just have an army, but you'll have an outrageous life total. I'm damn tired right now man, so I'll look over the deck tomorrow, but I just wanted to say I approve of the general choice before I passed out =P
Merry Christmas dude =]
Damn, well done man. We've honed you into a true MTG killing machine =P
Yeah it already mills plenty fast (as you know all too well), but one or two more homunculi, especially ones with defender and/or some kind of mill ability would be sweet haha. You might be right though. Wizards has shown an interest in putting more of these guys out there, and with gatecrash sporting Dimir, you'd expect something good =]
No, you don't count haha =]
What is this I don't even...
Like it I indeed do. Only thing I would change really is to swap out the Beckons with Lingering Souls. I can't wait for Gatecrash man...I just know there's gonna be so much stuff in that set for me to work with =}
Hahahaha, I just looked at Tambor's Zo-Zu deck, and all it is is a link to this one! XD
Alrighty, well let me know if there's any problems in the future =]
Are you still unable to use the forums? I know they fixed it for a number of people recently, but if it's still an issue I'll be sure to bring it up =]
It hasn't been discontinued, but there have been a few glitches due to the admins transferring the site to a new server. They're still working out some of these bugs, and this one was brought up to them. If you want to see any news and/or challenges, you can still view them in the forums =]
Storm Cauldron and Ghost Quarter are so trolly hahaha =P
Sadly no. I sent a follow up message to both Admins letting them know that some people are still locked out. I'll let you know if there are any updates.
Man, I hate the transition period when we're all waiting for the next set to come out, especially since the next set has freakin' ORZHOV in it @_@ Yet I find myself continuously drawn back to this deck...maybe it's for the amazing song link, or maybe it's because it's a "mix-tape" of many G/B deck types that I love. Hell, it even feels a little Filth-y Oh, and what if you made that one forest into a Dryad Arbor?
Hey have you been able to use the Forums yet?
Counter Slut, meet Thalia and Extirpate... http://www.myfacewhen.com/images/112 Jokes aside, Ethan puts forward a lot of good points, especially about Doubt. Jund is why we can't have nice things, so any way to hold them down is a good thing. In addition, Valakut is essentially a combo deck disguised as a ramp/midrange deck. Combo decks can't really do things twice...So throwing a giant ass monkey wrench in their plans like that will give you a huge advantage. One of the endless reasons I hate Modern is that without some critical cards, a lot of decks aren't available in any powerful form. One of these is Tempo, and the issue with that is it lets things like Jund run rampant. Jund is, to a legacy-style Tempo, a slow deck. This series of "checks and balances" in legacy is what makes it so good. Like WnB said, Tempo just doesn't exist in modern. Branches of it do, like X-blade, or any kind of Teeg, USA, or UZoo (kinda...gotta blur the lines here). It might help to shift around to grab parts of other "tempo" off-shoots instead of just trying to make an actual tempo. Lastly, be careful if you use Snapcaster. There's a hell of a lot of hate available to Snappy right now.
Hrm, well it's good you have the Mycoloths already, but you're right...there's not to many good Devour creatures in general, and they're mostly G/R if not mono-R =/ I've always been a fan of Gluttonous Slime for various combat tricks as well as for defense if someone decides to Pyroclasm your 1/1 munchies. Fresh Meat is another possibility (not sure it's price) for this kind of thing. Devour crap, play Fresh Meat, get lots of bigger dudes in return. As for Eldrazi spawns, the best you can get from green is Nest invader (amazing), Awakening Zone, and Kozilek's Predator. Red does offer a number of good ways to get them in too, and probably for a lower price =] Oh, and people can only see your WIP decks if they look on your profile =]
It's decent, but there are a few things here and there that make me worry about a lack of focus overall. Glissa doesn't make much sense in here. You only have a handful of artifacts and none that really need to be snagged back by her ability. Also Doubling Season, while it will help with a few things, isn't doing that much most of the time. I would try to focus more on Jarad and dumping things into your graveyard. Right now you have a couple of things focusing on other peoples' graveyards, which shouldn't matter most of the time. Myojin for example, is powerful, sure, but costs so much for what it does, and in the long run, won't help you as much as...Splinterfright (for example). I'm not saying your deck is bad, in fact it's pretty good, but I think you just need to go through it and re-work some things. Most importantly you gotta make sure to keep a focused goal in mind. You should also be careful not to OVER focus the deck, and this is where the fine-tuning comes in. Jarad should be HUGE in a deck devoted to him, but he shouldn't be the only threat. Make him big, keep him around, abuse the crap out of his ability (because it's dirty =P) and give the opponent some other stuff to worry about too. Two last things. 1) If you can get one, I would put in a Crucible of Worlds in here. Kinda makes Jarad impossible to get rid of. 2) I have a Jarad EDH if you would like to reference it =]
Wondering if it would work better simply being mono green. Also, I know it might eat up (no pun intended) a sizable chunk of the budget, Mycoloth is an outstanding card for any devour deck, and you could work 2 in with enough remaining budget to make a pretty nifty devour deck =]
