I have The Mote in God's Eye on my shelf, but have yet to read it. I enjoyed The Odyssey however, but unlike most of my reading, I just can't bring myself to reread it regularly.

White would have to be Rule of Law, simply put I find it exemplifies the colour better than any other.

Green I have to give to Nature's Claim, it's won more games for me than Tarmogoyf or ramp can hope since I've dabbled in eternal formats.

Red card goes to Lightning bolt. I hate red.

Blue I have to say that right now I'm digging Vendillion Clique, I'm playing CounterTop Emrakul in RUG, and it wins me soooo many games it's stupid.

My favourite black card is Contamination right now, while everybody uses things they're still just tinkering around with to get them operational, I use MBC(muahahahahahahahaha)

I must know, if you happen to be reading something currently, what is it?

Red, since I always want Bolt and Grim if I play it as a splash even. Green is mostly just for 'goyf in a splash.

I've been working on computers nonstop, so sorry I haven't been able to respond quicker.

Liliana is great and all, I've abused the living mess out of her in a deck I kick around for Maverick players, but selective discard has always been more powerful.

I guess it's just what people called it at the table, but then again some people also call CounterTop Dreidelscheisse...

But of course I liked it! It's douchey Orzhov! And I'll hold you to that if I ever meet you on my travels :)

I'll agree it's faster, but I can't help but want to have five tutors instead of three. Perhaps I might try Entomb again.

Dig your article about red btw, I've actually been testing something on the Stormkirk Noble front to give some ideas for a friend who plays the format, and I think that I've been entirely shown up.

And people wonder why I say in standard the most enjoyable thing is one of my least favourite colours. It's brutals for the format, and it looks FUN.

MmmmMmmm, Lands. Something I've found is that having a pair of Intuition still in the build really does help. And I don't care what anybody says, this deck is still brutal to see at a tournament.

I always heard that this version was called black and taxes, it used to be a major thorn in my side for a while, since when I see it I feel the urge to play decks that are closer to being fair(Dredge, Jericho, and Dirt).

This is pretty light on disruption compared to the W/B builds I usually see, but it seems to work well enough for what it is.

Like your design take on Taxes Ethan, pretty cool, and I'd be very much inclined to enjoy seeing it from the opponents side of the table :D

Okay! Magic time

First thing I notice is that you're running three Tinker and a full playset of Brainstorm. Sadly the pair of them are on the restricted list for Vintage, Brainstorm more than Tinker being there made me sad when I started working in the format.

Next up is the Top, which while it's absolutely bonkers in Legacy, it's just not fast enough in Vintage to run at three copies :/ With the abundance of tutors available to the format most people who run SDT at all just run it as a one of, generally doing better in control decks such as this.

I notice you're running Voltaic Key, but no Time Vault. Is there any reason in particular for that choice?

I like running Inquisition of Kozilek in Vintage, but generally I prefer Duress since I can nab a Force of Will, Planeswalkers, ect. It's not as good if you see Fish, but generally it's the most effective choice.

As for Bob being nicknamed Bob, I dunno. He does kind of remind me of a young Bob Dole though.

Yeargh, I feel awful about not getting to this sooner. Should be getting back into this site now, so I can take a look at this and anything else I missed while I was elsewhere.

I REALLY hate to say this part, but I'll be getting to this later. Family shenanigans have abounded for a while now, but now there's friends I've been helping as well . My sleep schedule is scary right now @_@

Don't sweat it, it took me months to figure out why Necropotence is banned, but then I tested it in combo-control.

I'm looking forward to what you post, drop me a line here or on the forum, and I'll be sure to check it out! :D

Our shop got wrecked by my friend when he played his version of Extraction for standard, it was hilarious. Oh how I wish Spell Pierce was in standard, I feel it could make your day interesting at worst, and amazing at best.

I think the funniest deck I've seen made to beat another was when somebody on MWS and I had a rematch, and he busted out DragonStompy(how I learned about it), and then Stax when my Poxtraction beat him.

I know it seems like a great idea on paper, but in actual tournament play Spreading Seas is kind of weak in Fish. Most(if not all) of the big decks right now run blue, and a lot of people like to fetch an island on turn one to feint Daze/ect.
It's a neat thought, but if it cuts into your Cursecatcher and Daze counts I can't really support it.

Flusterstorm is great if you see a lot of combo, but really game one I'd rather have Spell Pierce since it deals with a wider variety of problems.
Jace, LED, and an early Animate Dead come to mind especially.

I think my last thought would have to be that cutting wastelands is a fifty:fifty move, I personally play the full compliment, but it's actually better in Confidant Fish.

P.S. Glad to see one of your decks hit the front page! Sorry I haven't checked out your stuff in a while, I've had a hectic time. :/

This is the ANT version of SI, I always thought it was neat, but it's not as fun to play as Pact SI for me. I'm interested to know how your run with this deck goes, with PSI I have about a 65% chance to go for a turn one kill, so I'm very interested in how well a build without Lion's Eye Diamond and Infernal Tutor runs.
