Taps is obnoxious as hell... The friend in question ran one before the onset of Cawblade, and he absolutely slaughtered the other standard kids we have.

Azami? REALLY?
This is not to far from what I expect one of my friends to be playing tonight, and that bothers me. Since they refuse to go all the way for legacy right now(budget issues) I'm trying to get them to go to modern, and change FNM to it. It's a very balanced format, just not that friendly to combo...
If tribal gets recognized, I would finally have a use for a cardboard box I have. So I'd be pretty pleased. I'm fully behind Zombies being banned, as they can't be beat when it comes to the quality of Lords... And as numerous as the Zombie Lords are, it's obnoxious when two are at a casual table :/ Again I say, I'd probably use Humans or Wizards :P
:D I just finished the episode of the flying circus with Mister Neutron
Yeah... One friend runs Allies, another Slivers... They both also carry around Zombie decks, so whenever somebody says the word 'tribal', I instantly do as such. http://www.myfacewhen.com/51/ That face adequately describes how I feel about tribal games in my group. And I agree that the real trouble in working with Slivers is trying to keep them contained, to achieve this a third person in our group has a Sliver Overlord EDH...
We're all doing something with Fauna Shaman, Vengevine, and Bloodghast in at least one format it seems XD
I love how all of your responses are of such a length, and try to take everything into consideration, in almost any applicable way. I think if I keep seeing the rise in a deck called Stoneblade I might run a Dreadnought based tempo deck featuring the orb and stifle, as the deck in question is mostly based off of abilities. Also, I think Bob(Dark Confidant) could be a very powerful card in such decks.
I dunno, I think Ally decks are worse than Slivers >_> I've seen the old counter-sliver designs replacing them with the douchey newcomers, and do pretty beastly
Hmmm, that sounds like a pretty good plan. I don't have much time right now to do testing, so I'll leave ET sideboard toolbox. Guitar is taking most of my free time, and I'm having to weigh some mighty heavy options as well right now.
I can't yet call myself an extractor, but yesterday I enjoyed some fun with poxtraction XD I agree that it's not worth it to sideboard against extraction, for the same reasons you state. I meant in the main sixty, which you have to admit Lands is STILL obnoxious for you. Extirpate>Surgical Extraction. I can at least do funny tricks to avoid SE, but Extirpate not so much.
I picked SoBaM because I was focused on the realization that I needed a way to crap creatures, it seemed efficient, and it gives pro-Goyf. Vindicate is indeed something I've found would work better here as a three-of, but Cabal Therapy I can not support removing. And Bitterblossom would be great here, but it's troublesome to find a way to squeeze it into the deck. I picked Italian because it's the only one you didn't post actually, I know you have your homework done about the ones you posted, so I figured I'd take the one I had no information on.
I'm Norwegian, it's kind of hard for me NOT to know about the goats. Also, the comment was a Shakespeare joke :O Norse mythology jokes don't tide over to well with most, what with the raping of the land and pillaging of the women.
Cry havoc! And let loose the goats of war?
The worst part is that the eternal formats are circular, in that you pretty much have to win a major tournament to get the money to buy the cards for a deck to win a major tournament.... Magic League seems like the easiest way to cheat that, so I'm hoping to start up in that soon. Also, near constant tourney play if you care for it, and from what I hear the casual environment can be pretty good as well.
Combo in general. And I find myself seeing Surgical Extraction very rarely, but when I do always in the hand of an Extractor... There's no easy plan around it except diversifying, which is easier said than done in a lot of decks. The decks I've found myself doing the best against extraction are Lands and Reanimator. Reanimator they'll ALWAYS go for Entomb first, so it's easy enough to play around, and Lands is all about protecting Loam. If you play smart with either of those decks you have a chance, but some decks are just terrible at dealing with Extraction(read: anything based on Storm)
Ah yes, how could I forget. And Snatch, or really anything from Guy Ritchie... Ah the wonderful movies and songs I hope to one day share with a little WnB... Who will hopefully not follow their fathers footsteps except in taste... But not in women, I've made a LOT of bad choices there.
Yeah, Reanimator needs a lot of tweaking. Finding the needed balance is half of the work I had to do in designing my Reanimator... Reanimator/Stax doesn't really work as well as most would like, unless you use say Sheoldred, but she's slow even for Control Reanimator. And yeah, I know what you mean about having so many expensive cards you need... The price of eternal formats is maddening T_T
I've long loved using it in my crucible decks, it's enough mana for me to do pretty much anything in most of my decks! Pop out a turn two Nether Void, with Daze mana, or a Thoughtseize. XD And Reanimator isn't something I can whole heartedly jumping around with. The price of mine is over ONE-THOUSAAAAAAND! And yes, the joke was worth it.
I personally use Entomb in more of my builds than Vindicate, and enjoy Reanimator more than things like the Rock, but what's really important is what you think you'd enjoy more/win more with depending on if you're spike or not. And as for the Demigod hand... Holy crap man!
