I've never been really been big on Jace 2.0, but Nether Void and the Disk are up there. The Transguild I've always wanted to use because it's just one of those 'wait, the hell?' Cards.

:P No amount of Monty Python can keep me from being that jerk in standard.

And sadly Ethan, it's not nearly as epic as I'd like. Standard Reanimator just doesn't really have the tools to function right. But I'm glad you understand the decks lol

but when we win against y'all, it's just that much sweeter. Shame it barely ever happens...

But now we finally have something even better than Juzam, the Obliterator is probably my favourite four mana card in the game right now.

I never really have managed to get my hands on some Juzams, so I can totally agree with Grinning being a decent alternative. Friend of mine has an uncle who trades pretty much anything but his power nine when he sees somebody with them, so the few times I've seen them, it's not been for long...

Problem with my jank is that it all winds up ending it's arguments by saying 'and I play nether void', which while a good way to get people to scoop, isn't really a problem for your decks since you can just deal with my ghasts.

I have been looking for some sort of nice recursive beater that can go alongside them, but really they'd all wind up an even greater liability. :|

True, but I always seem to find the real ones... Except once, I managed to get one who didn't know how Reanimators played out, and I killed them pretty quickly.

I forgot about Grinning, haven't seen that one since the first day I played actually... Very much the more abusive twin to Juzam.

And Hellcarver+Doomsday has a lot of stacks you can use, but it is admittedly limited. On the bright side it's incredibly amusing.

I don't think I've really found a demon in MtG that I've liked really.. Except for Tombstalker, but that's just because that dude is more boss than Andy Samberg.

I've heard of using Hellcarver with doomsday, for some... Interesting results.

I've enjoyed some fun with Massacre Wurm against Elves, but I think Black Sun is the better option due to recursion.

I think one or two in the SB would be pretty slick against a lot of the higher end aggro decks, except maybe Affinity, but that's in a league of its own for aggro really.

And Mortician Beetle works best in a deck that can clear faster, like say the versions of Trainwreck running Grave Pact. I loved it in my old sacrifice deck, and it's good for suicides in standard with Demon of Deaths Gate, but overall I find myself in concurrence with you about it just being another vanilla beater.

Very VERY good Ethan! You're thinking like a Legacy player already, and you've only been pretty limited on which toys you get to play with.

I'm thinking maybe I'll make Goblins for standard once Grim is out, it won't have the mana denial, but it's actually the best suited thought I've had against standard extraction.

I think it definitely takes the place of Spell Pierce in eternal formats. It doubles as an anti-storm tool, and functions in the general pace of a game better than Spell Pierce usually.

I am seriously expecting another false shift like with Misstep though, it'll just deal with a few decks, but it will leave the door open for a lot of shiny new jank builds.

I can understand them banning you from using the nether void version entirely, I tried my newest deck with it on workstation, and kept getting disconnections :|

As for dealing with elves, this is probably one of the funniest decks I've seen for the task.

Yeah, I hated having to wait to talk about Grim >_< Never let anybody show you the black book of red... I've known for a while now, and have been trying to think of what to use it in, but it all boiled down to " das uber mensch for splinter twin ". THAT's what I wrote down for my thoughts on Grim in standard.

Also, I've been thinking about making a suicide for standard to amuse myself. Some fun times to be had hopefully with Bob 2.0

Dude, I can't wait for m12... You will get to taste the ultimate pinger, they've confirmed Grim Lavamancer as a reprint XD Until Basilisk Collar and the fetches rotate out, he will be one of the most played red cards I hope.

I look forward to the jank you design, it's always refreshing and well thought out.

And Sure, of course it slaughters... You actually designed what you play, and a lot of people playing standard are still just netdecking

:O Empyrial Armor... With Necropotence and Reliquary Tower... Holy crap that is insane! And as for 2v2v2v2, I think my head would explode.

I've been looking into them, and I think the spymaster is the best. I expect to see it in some non-EDH decks, and I think it'd be interesting to see what madness you can concoct for him :D

Sadly though, I have yet to get a good game with my group. The ones who play EDH all have them taken apart right now :| We hope to get some of the new commander decks they put out to kick start things though.

Hmmm, very nice. It's incredibly stable, can make dangerous moves at any given point, and it has the best four mana creature yet to be printed as a beater.

I really like this, but I still think Nether Void could be thrown in here for the vintage games. Legacy though, I can't think of way to change it that would benefit it other than shaping it for the metas I play at.
