Seriously, I think overall your designs are more brutal. I mean look at this for instance, holy @#$% is this mean!

Derp, I forgot his effect wasn't like a tardrazi. I've seen people use them in response to things like Ravenous Traps, or other such things.

And as for them taking different roles, that is true, but after testing competitively I've found it best to have at least a second Iona. Some people even play with three copies of Jin-Gitaxias, but I think overall the best route to go is to have a second copy of either Jin, or Iona. Testing from multiple pilots, metas, and designs has backed this up.

I honestly don't know how to respond to this other than in this manner.

Neat build Ethan, especially liking the use of Blightsteel as anti-hate tech.

I've done a lot of testing with reanimator(shock and awe, I know), and I've found that Painter's Servant really works best as a one-of. Almost like a target.

Platinum Emperion is an interesting replacement for both Blazing Archon, and the Archangel. I personally run Archon though because I run into more sneak & tell than I'd like, but Platinum deals with multiple MU's so I might look into getting one.

I also feel I should point this out; They WILL find a way to kill your Iona/Jin-Gitaxias. I suggest losing your second Painter for a backup, but perhaps that's just me being paranoid.

Overall very good Reanimator Ethan, much better than my first attempt. Now if only they would unban Mystical Tutor for us...

:O I didn't think about Edric! I'll have to find a way to slip him in the deck! The Gilt-Leaf are controlly, but they don't quite play out like my brand of control, so it'd be a bit hollow for me.

Speed. If this deck could improve on one thing, it's a kill clock. Maybe some disruption, but that's really a personal preference.

And I think it would be very interesting to pit my decks against yours as well. I think yours are a bit more brutal myself, but maybe that's because I'm the one running my decks...

I'm not that big on lord cards in decks that can easily use incarnations :P

However, the Cradle comment is true. I've done a bit of test hands, and it's happened a lot already :| I think two is the number to go with here personally, but I'm not quite sure. I have practically no experience designing elves, so eh.

It was good, but from a competitive standpoint it wasn't really as dangerous as say; Enlightened Tutor. It messed a lot of people up, but I think skullclamp was even better than that, and I'm all for unbanning that.

I would like to be able to say the same thing about Mystical Tutor, but that banning was sadly quite reasonable.

Eh, point taken. But somehow I feel you run heavier creature control than I do when you face Wumps elves.

It's pretty neat, and it has good tech, but I dunno how well it'd run for competitive play. However, your casual group would probably despise you if you ever sleeved it up. Hell, I'd hate to go against it using my Legacy tourney decks >_<

Yeah, I was kind of surprised it was banned personally. It really wasn't that good of a tutor, and a lot of decks actually wrecked it... I think I find Entomb, a one use card, to be ten times the tutor it was.

I've been disappointed by standard for the lack of splashes working how I want them, I'd be happy for them to just pop out some new contrasting dual lands...

I've actually not heard pretty much anything about what's going to be in Innistrad, but I'm personally hoping it's the return of the Cabal :D They've long been my favourite piece of flavour from the game, and with Liliana Vess being one of the main players for the story of it... I can dream of a new Braids XD

I'm not really all that great with tribal designs, not as versatile as I like. I think the only tribe I've made this year was my Fish...

I've been trying to think of a tribe I dislike, to push myself in different directions, and I'm looking into making Elves. Yeargh, I despise those things because of one of my friends decks... His elves could probably outrace dredge...

I think I'd rather go with a random Chiodos tribute; Bone Palace Ballet.

I looove skeletons as a tribe, they had been my first successful attempt at a tribal deck. So to see them done so much better, makes me kind of want to try and reassemble it.

Hmmm, the contrast is indeed a great chiaroscuro. Also, weirded me out when I actually knew what it meant. Ah the wonderful things we learn from comparisons of Ludwig Van Beethoven to artwork.

Very good looking deck, and as you said, it seems consistent. I think I love this more than anything for the title though, quite brilliant.

<- forgot Word of Command existed.... @_@

This is a pretty neat Vintage deck, very unique as well.

While I agree with most of it, I've actually become quite fond of Vintage. The best deck I've seen is actually lockout control, a workshop stax. It functions much the same as one of my Nether Void decks, but with less focus on being able to win.

Vintage seemed that it was all about the brokenness at first for me as well, but other than Yawgmoth's Will, I've really found it to be more about disruption and control.

Legacy is a more kill focused format, aimed at the sociopath in all of us, whereas Vintage takes the survivor aspect of us. I prefer Legacy yes, but I can not bring myself to bash Vintage.
Again, except Yawgmoth's Will... WHAT THE HELL.

The learning curve of the deck isn't that difficult, as the deck in itself is rather simplistic, but rather the Doomsday engine leads to intensive research into the possibilities of your own deck.

I'd in fact agree with a contrast between decks running the Doomsday engine against Extraction; One requires you have perfect knowledge of your own deck, the other your opponents. One focuses on speed, the other on recursion, ect, ect.

Yeah, I guess. I guess I'm more suited for Daze because of the decks I run, which as expected have returned as the three from last year. Long live Reanimator, Lands, and Storm!

BUG Landstill is something I think I could tinker with, but I'd not be able to do it that great because my natural reaction to the deck is to make it more like one of my 36-Lands decks.

The deck has over sixty different kill routes that I've found, so I'll just give the most famous pile, as devised by Stephen Menendian.

Post Doomsday scenario
||Library Top||
1) Ancestral Recall
2) Black Lotus
3) Dark Ritual
4) Mind's Desire
5) Beacon of Destruction
||Library Bottom||

I cast Ancestral Recall to draw cards two through four. I then use my mana cards so I can play Mind's Desire for storm three. Because of how the replacement effect on Beacon of Destruction is worded, I can keep using it with the copies of Mind's Desire, making twenty damage exactly.

I'm still kind of working on the design of it, but the overall shape will remain the same. The deck is a tweaked version of Stephen Menendian's list, suited more for how I play.
