I've not seen any from M12 for Zur, but surgestorm(or whatever it was) looks like fun for a Norin the Wary deck.

Likewise, I may joke at standard, but it's still elves. They're essentially the same in every format, so I can't complain about standard elves sucking, just being on a delayed setting.

And then it's Joe making it, so it should be good.

But... It is standard legal...

I completely forgot that it rotated, I sometimes forget non-eternal formats exist

Yeah... I know how you feel.
If you really want to beat Hive combo, I've had a GREAT time against it using Storm combo. Yeah you lose the tech war, but you should be going off before they can do anything of note.

Yeah, Stompy shouldn't let things go to that many turns usually, and Extraction shouldn't be a side deal.

Poxtraction is definitely not a joke like whatever that thing was. I had to use a pass the turn pile for doomsday once, and they killed me by top decking a Bitter Ordeal... I lost because they just cast it all nonchalantly, and just ripped out Iggy.

Basically Ethan said pretty much everything I could have suggested for the main board, but I still have sideboard thoughts at least.

-1 Nature's Claim
-2 Necropede

+2 GSZ
+1 Dismember

That's just what I'd personally do, simply because it leaves it more open.

I think the title should be the flavour text to Syphon Flesh more than Teysa, if that answers your question.

And I know what you mean about needing to cut it down to 99, I found so many douchey/'utility' enchantments that it was a tough choice.

Yeah.... The turn setup has you searching frantically for Tinker to end it quicker >_<

And I wish I could say the Gifts package with Recoup was my idea, but I have to admit I jacked that out of Stephen Menendian's playbook. He's one of the few people who writes MtG articles other than for the vault I care to even glance at. His articles are what inspired me to start doodling up vintage lists, mostly to see if I could make things run smoother/fit my style.

*sees Gerrard's Verdict, and Debtors' Knell* I approve. :P
You COULD be a dick though and run Hymn to Tourach

I *think* they might have called it Rainbow Stomp, I dunno. It wasn't that great as an extraction deck, because it spent more time trying to actively kill, but it was a pretty neat stompy. Have you ever had to stare down a table with Overwhelming Stampede on Panoptic Mirror being backed by Iso-Seek? It was insane

Correct!

The one part of going against Hive combo that makes me sad is that me and my opponent are both playing decks that are strong due to tech, so the one with the most efficient foil strategy wins.
Now while I enjoy this challenge, it's a little obnoxious for both of us because the optimal foil is essentially the same, and if it goes to the point of foil/counter-foil...

I prefer the German variation of MUD Stompy, but those ones are pretty neat. I've even seen an Iso-Stompy, which was basically an Extraction deck using stompy-esque tactics for a sword/shield.

I figured it'd be something like that, just wasn't sure which follow up you'd go with. On reflection I should have guessed SE.

And yeah, I think out of all my combo designs this is my favourite. It has so many different ways to go off, and it has enough backup that it SHOULD get through.

Your loss is oddly enough mine as well sadly, with each new player for Reanimator, hate becomes more and more frequently seen :/

I also have a strange feeling that every time a new extractor is made, two affinity players are as well.

I know what you mean, it and Defense Grid are probably my new favourite toys/tech. And as the description says, I'm even looking to sneak a third in here.

Very good! +2 Points

Second question; what are the two most devastating targets to use against Hive combo game two?

It's kind of like the non-German MUD Stompy decks I've been seeing, but without the added 'boom' of Steel Hellkite(yes, it's used in Legacy now).
