That raised one more question :)Does anyone play declaration in stone alongside a card like pithing needle to lock down clues ?

Nice outline. Have you thought about the sideboard yet ?
I quote from above "there are extreme exceptions"I sorta knew you would play it out like this. You've been gas lighting me a lot lately.
I'll put in a vote for looter ill-kor.
I stick to the belief that a deck will need 12 cards that can get it at least one type of mana, and this applies to each color. (Fetch lands and duals can count as several of these). There are extreme exceptions, but my view on mana has been holding since modern began on a majority of decks. If blood moon enters the equation, 5 basic lands of each color in the deck is the preferred minimum.I have met very few pro decks that couldn't be improved on the mana base. Most of the time, when you see a pro list, you will likely see that the list is more or less just the same deck except for the lands. The real pro decklists never feature the same mana because the pros always deviate in what should be played at a higher priority, and this flavours their manabases a lot. Also since very few pro players build their mana by statistics and mass scale trial and error they tend to build up their mana in a touchy-feely kind of way that increases the differences in the mana that their decks list.I'm done with the arena red builds. I'm thinking of taking on blue as the next color.
I'll play for free. I've tried to take on legacy with commoncards in the past, getting pretty close to 50/50.I'm already dissecting the free core cards in arena so I will be prepared when the day comes.I think I'll grind out points by hanging out in the bottom for a long time, spending them only to get past cards that stop me. Since the pairings are rigged on ranks and card power level I will probably end up clashing with the best of the free players first. They are likely to be carefull thinkers, so I will learn a lot about how to beat into the cash meta by studying their designs. They will have the right hatred that I can buy into with points. At some point I'll be to high ranked for that part of the meta and will enter the mainstream budget meta.Same strategy goes for there and the rest of the system.I'm a fast learner and will study everything in advance.I actually look forward to abuse sparky trying to see if I can crack the draw algorithm, seeing if it has preferences.Like does it treat non basic lands as lands when it defends against a mulligan ?I usually design my decks around never mulliganning, so it will be interesting to see if my ordinary mana will sort of improve when played in arena.I'm also pretty good at the theoretic stuff and has a wast lore on how past decks worked. If I join, I will make an impact on the scene.
I could see how you would believe that, but no, some decks have extraordinary mana, except mainstream mill.
Mythologically trolls are a lot similar to dwarves, but larger. In many ways they resemble jötuns and breed with many other species creating a variety of troll species. They share most traits that dwarves have except that trolls usually shun sunlight more than dwarves.Dwarves and trolls can both be enemies and allies but tend to be hostile towards each other because they usually try to move in on the same type of territory. Trolls also have lots of bad human habits, some even revelling in being gross, so trollkings would probably have some beautiful feasts to go absolutely horror show on, in an eating frenzy.
It's one of the things I usually mention when talking about how mill has a weak mana base. Most mill has black mana as sideboard and therefore focus on having blue lands.Any landdisrupting deck can target the black lands to prevent the sideboard from being usefull. This happens a lot to designs that also try to run field of ruin, shelldock isle and other special lands.
I'm only watching videos about arena at the moment, but might join in, one day.I do have the advantage of having played magic almost from the beginning.I'd love to see a modern version of the deck as modern is my main format.
With lurrus in maindeck, could it be more of an advantage to play something like 2 thoughtseize, 2 lurrus and 2 freebooter, because the freebooter would tie up removal and lurrus would being the freebooter back if it was killed.I could also see lurrus brought back with kolaghan's command, which would add more discard if necessary and could also bring back thePirates. Is kolaghan's legal ?
I thought scavenge always just added 1 +2/+1 counter, but reading on it again I can see it works well "your way".That changes how I view the design of course :)Time of need to get the troll will be a high priority, but I don't know the price of that card.
First of, the mana seems okay.I always recommend at least 12 sources of mana in a color as a minimum. You got that.Force of savagery demands that it's toughness is in place before it hits the table. It cannot be saved by scavenge effects. It needs something more like an enchantment that says all creatures have +0/+1.I like the idea of a blend between big creatures and infect, but it needs a little work.A deck must have as much synergy as anyone can manage to build into it.Rancor has synergy with all creatures and all creatures in your deck has synergy with rancor. But theres an added thing to synergy. The longer you can maintain the synergy, the better. This is called staying power. Both rancor and varolz have staying power, but compared with these, phyresis has no way to save itself. It's the weak link that your opponent will exploit every time you give them the option.Soulgorger and regisaur sort of have staying power by being hard to kill. Both have synergy with varolz, but there is one weak link in this. Soulgorger demands creatures in play, which sort of disrupts all other creatures synergy with varolz. Soulgorger will force you to sacrifice 1, then two and then three creatures and so on, and to be able to feed it you will need creatures to feed it. But which creatures ? You have your infect creatures, but with phyresis being a weak link in your synergy, would it be wise to sacrifice your infect creatures ?Take a long time at grouping up which cards support different parts of your deck. Find the weak spots and think on how to fix them.Seek out cards that fulfill several of your purposes and thus bring synergy to the table.Could [[fists of ironwood]] solve your sacrificial problems and aid putrefax for example ?What other creatures does it give synergy ?The enchantment can be destroyed, and so can the tokens, but getting rid of the whole aspect of the card will be very difficult, which means it has staying power.Inkmoth nexus also has staying power in infect decks, but can you figure out why ?
Canadian highlander. Seems to be close to a vintage highlander format but with point restrictions on some cards.I wouldn't know how to play that either...
Ah, yeah it's weekend. I've been on the job so didn't think of it :)But soon you will have to face twice as much school as you are used to.Strixhaven is showing some commands, and new annoying art for old cards. Looks nice though, both the new and the old stuff.
Okay, what's canlander ?
No problem:)
But if you ever want advice for almost any other format, look me up.
It's EDH...I have no idea how it plays out :)
Well you certainly seem to have made the competitive on their own :)It was a good ploy to divert attention, but could have horrible consequences if it catches on.It will be fun to see if anyone else goes with a halfdescription. You seem up and about early!
