Modern seems like a fun format, never gotten to really play it much.

I do gotta say, your spells make me cringe thinking playing this deck one on one. I like the spell lineup.

I dont think any of my advice will help ya out too much, never played this style of deck much. But if it helps cyclonic rift has been pretty effective in my eyes recently. But I like this deck, have you gotten to play test it yet? Do you run into any problems only running 8 creatures in here?

I both agree and disagree with your argument. I mean i completely see and understand your point, but to tell ya the truth it really depends on the aura used and how you use it. Canopy cover gives your creature hexproof so therefore put a huge stop to removal (although not completely stops it form happening). And for this aura, drop it on a creature you can do without but still can do damage with because of its ability and the opponent has to choose to either destroy a good creature or the buffed one, either way it works to your advantage. Yea you could just drop another creature instead of the aura always having a good creature ready to through out doesnt happen every time and the potential to make any creature a really good creature comes to a great advantage.

like i said i both agree and disagree with what you're saying, it really depends on the aura, the deck, and how you play it. Although if he can get ahold of goblin piledriver, its definitely a great add for this deck and i agree that he should throw it in.

Everyones entitled to their own opinion on strategys and card usage, that's why magic is so fun. The diversity in play style and strategy. (also the level in competitiveness, if you have the money totally go for a super competitive deck, but not everyone can do this sadly).

If your a good enough player in the game you can make anything work, even auras. My opinion of course =p

I disagree about auras, i think they are pretty effective when used correctly. And goblin piledriver is def. a good add, but also note that it's pretty expensive to buy, not over the top, but it's still 15 to 20 dollars. and as for creature removal, if someone has a creature removal, whether its an enchanted creature or just a creature with a good effect, the opponent is still going to remove it. Granted you need a creature and the aura for it to work, instead of just the creature, i still feel that auras are pretty effective and shouldn't be put off as unusable.

guttersnipes ability will still trigger even if you exile the spell with nivmagus, you should look into adding him. Also look into something to give nivmagus shroud or hexproof, you gotta protect him as he is your win condition

yes i do think its better, mob mentality has the potential to buff your creature way more than 4, it gives it trample, and its an enchantment so it stays as long as your creature does

dark ritual, or culling the weak to get stuffy doll out quickly, but other wise i love the idea with stuffy doll! maybe some draw card effects? and you should add something for just in case they remove stuffy doll

I don't know if you have more mob mentality, but you should def. add more of those, that's amazing in a deck like this. Especially if you add a card like goblin tunneler and make one of your creatures unblockable before they attack

Yay for another kiln fiend deck haha, kiln fiend is just amazing. but i would recommend some mana spells to speed it up, pyretic ritual, seething song, ect... nice splash of blue to with unblockables and the wee dragonauts.

If you want any more ideas for your deck, check out my version of a kiln fiend deck. Mine actually has a turn 1 win combo in it =]

too bad it's standard haha otherwise i'd say add trash for treasure, then you could mill stuffy doll into your graveyard and play it for 3 mana =p

you should drop all the midnight hauntings and add 2 more increasing devotion and 2 mirran crusader (unless its standard then nevermind about the crusader). But I would at least drop the midnight hauntings for increasing devotions, cheaper tokens are nice and all but you wanna bank on the humans coming into play with champion of the parish, and having 4 lingering souls is fine for cheap spirit tokens,(is way better than midnight too with its flashback ability which i see you plan on using, nice add with the chapels).

Also odric, master tactician would be a nice little mix up to this deck, you should have plenty of little 1/1s attacking and he'd make sure none of them get killed off quickly by bigger blockers. =p

just some suggestions

you have plenty of unblockable effects in here to get by, i would recommend dropping a few of them and adding something to really bank on the fact that your creatures are unblockable, such as assault strobe, or cleaver riot, double the damage you do and double the counters your creatures will get for dealing damage =p

Well what i was saying is that braid of fire adds mana to your mana pool the beginning of the upkeep and you have no instants to use with that mana. Because mana pools empty as phases end, so after your upkeep the mana you got with braid of fires upkeep ability will empty from your pool and you won't be able to use it.

I wouldnt completely put this deck off as not being competitive. It has alot of potential, and does look fun to play. It actually seems like it has a pretty good mixture of power and speed.

I would recommend wild beastmaster for this.

Also with champion of lambholt, fungal sprouting seems like a pretty effective way to set her off =p

You should take out braid of fire, it's not doing anything for you in this deck. You don't have any instants (other than rite of flame) or red mana cumulative upkeep cards. Your mana pool emptys after your upkeep so you'd have to use braid of fires mana before the end of the upkeep. Unless I'm missing something.

Otherwise I really like this deck, Karplusan Minotaur is amazing for this deck =p

No doubt, of course =p Theres nothing wrong with adding blue for some brainstorm, ponders, and counters..thats for sure.

And as I said in my comment before, You should seriously consider Defense of the Heart. Even without forbidden orchard out, the opponent will be sweating when they play their 3rd creature =] This deck has everything in it to maximize it's effect and pretty much be game over as soon as defense of the hearts ability activates.
