Good thought. Went 2 Plummet and 2 Skyreaping. Keep in mind Deadly Recluse is mainboard and is basically Plummet on legs, too.

Cool beans.

I do have Guile in the sideboard, but forgot about Mending Touch.

Also considered Decoy...just didn't make the final cut. I'll look into it again. Might go Noble Quarry if I go that route, though. Cheaper and can be an enchantment instead in a pinch.

Demlocks for Bramble...check.

Thanks for the suggestions!

Alright, I pulled in Mystics and cut some of the fluff. Added another Skyreaping to the sideboard; between that and Deadly Recluse you should be able to handle most flyers.

Obviously still fragile to kill/burn and of course wipers, but green can only do so much about that even without budget constraints....

Fair enough. Do you have any specific suggestions?

I know it has several weaknesses, but the emphasis here was the budget. I don't want it to get blown out...was hoping it could somewhat outrace blue and black, and Ranger's Guile was for siding in vs kill/burn spells, but....

I intentionally left out Experiment One and BTE because, again, budget. Obviously they'd be awesome, but they're $2-$3 each right now. Even Mystic is a buck, which makes it tough to include, but I'll try and squeeze them in. Mystic IS a glaring hole right now.

I'll trim down some of the inconsistency cards and try to streamline it, and I'll beef up the sideboard vs flying, and try some other things. But again, if you have some suggestions, I'm all ears.

Wholeheartedly agreed, but then it wouldn't be $10 budget. ;-)

Trust me, this would look a whole lot different if it wasn't specifically budget-centric.

Seems you'd want some protection in there, like Rootborn Defenses or Brave the Elements. I've found this sort of deck is great once it gets going...but has trouble getting going because of spot (or mass) removal.

You can probably move at least the White Knights and one or two other creatures to sideboard to make room for protection. Probably go 3 BtEs and 2 Rootborns, at least.

Favored Hoplite, perhaps? Usually overlooked, but cheap (ding!) and works well when enchanted (ding!).

Just built a deck similar to this that features little ol' Hoppy: http://www.mtgvault.com/jre47/decks/bleached-enchantments/

+1 for this deck...good core!

Well, Leyline (sideboard) already covers Ivory Mask. Archon is a good thought... I'll see if I can squeeze it in there somewhere, at least in the sideboard. Thanks!

Sadly, no. Once a common is reprinted as an uncommon, all past versions are also considered "uncommon" and it's no longer legal in Pauper. Ran into that exact problem with Rancor myself.

That being said, still a nice deck.

Couple thoughts:

- Drop Common Bond, sub in Intangible Virtue. Why boost just a couple creatures when you can instead boost ALL your token creatures and give them vigilance? I'd find room for 4 copies in this deck.

- Try and find room for some Rootborn Defenses and Selesnya Charm. The former is critical for preventing board wipes, which completely deflate your type of strategy...believe me, I've ben there. The latter can create more tokens, at worst, and its other two modes can be devestating. Also perhaps a Boros Charm or two if you can manage it...more indestructability and, again, two other modes that can win the game for you at the right time.

I guess I'd recommend this, overall:

-3 Common Bond
-1 Emmara Tandris
-3 Riot Piker
-2 Borderland Ranger (Farseek is enough)
-1 Avacyn's Pilgrim
-1 Trostani's Judgment
+4 Intangible Virtue
+3 Rootborn Defenses
+3 Selesnya Charm
+1 Boros Charm

Or something along those lines. The ones I took out are your weakest cards in support of this overall strategy. Emmara is just too expensive, and the effect she gives to tokens is done better by Rootborn and Boros Charm. Riot Piker just dies way too quickly and easily...if you need another cheap creature, turn Selesnya Charm into a Knight. The Rangers and Pilgrim are just more ramp than you need, I think. And Trostani's Judgment is a fine card, but rather costly. Selesnya Charm can likely zap a creature you need gone by the time Judgment could, and for much cheaper.

Hope this helps!

Got another one: mono-colored control, and that color is NOT blue. Does such an idea even stand a chance? You tell me. All helpful comments = guaranteed rep points, as I always do.

Check out my mono-white control!

Good one! I was poking around for a card in these colors that would zap away creatures on the field each turn, since I can hold my "creatures" in reserve until after the effects have passed and THEN activate them, but it was tough in these colors. Completely missed Nodes. I'll see if I can slide that in somewhere...thanks!

I mostly dabble in Standard, but I had a really fun idea for a manland deck in Modern that I put together. I think it could be a crazy fun time for anyone with the resources to try it.

Check it out! Any and all comments and help appreciated, and I'll be sure to pass out rep points for any helpful advice, as I do with all my decks. Thanks in advance!

Ah, gotcha. Maybe consider Give // Take? Probably good at least for the sideboard to help you draw, add counters, or both as necessary. Somewhat crazy with Fathom Mage. I might even swap it in instead of Bioshift. I love Bioshift too, but I think Give // Take would generally be more useful for you.

Just a thought!

I can see the very neat interactions here, and it's a great way to try and deck yourself, but I must be missing how Guildmage can win immediately when Maniac gets on to the battlefield. I can pretty easily see 4-5 cards a pop, at least, but the draw ability requires {G}{U}, so even with the ramp you'll eventually run out of open mana. Or am I missing something obvious...?

Two thoughts:

Bloodthrone Vampire over Bairn. Why not?

Champion of the Parish as an alternate wincon?

Love the deck idea, though. And the flavor!

Heh, 61 cards ia kind of my thing. Can't remember the last time I made a deck with only 60 cards. Yeah, I'm weird. I'll consider that, though. You make a very valid point. :-)

Alright, I dropped 2 mana dorks for 2 Biomancers. Might have to adjust those ratios with playtesting, but that's probably a good balance to start with. Also helps make the Guildmage more relevant, which makes me happy.

Thanks!
