I like the "insert tribe here" philosophy, so much fun! Way to abuse changelings! I've always wanted to build a changeling deck. :)

I love treefolk! Your deck is very similar to my original treefolk deck, but I found that I didn't need white at all and my deck is actually a lot faster without it! Also, I run Damnation as a win con for when my treefolk are indestructible. Oracle of Mul Daya will also combo very VERY nicely with Leaf Crowned Elder, I run four of each.

Check it out!

Why not hellfire mongrel instead of Lava Hounds? Fiery Hellhounds also makes for a nice win con.

Fun tribal deck! Why no Living Hive? I could also suggest playing around with door of destinies, might of the masses, and overwhelming stampede.

Why Coat of Arms? Why not Door of Destinies? It costs 1 mana less, and doesn't suffer from wrath effects!

After reading the comments, and an original idea or two, this is how I built this deck:

Deck build time: 10 minutes.

Note that though Marrow-Gnawer is legendary, Thrumming Stone's ability is optional.

Oh, and door of destinies would be faster than coat of arms, and while it would not get tokens from ripple, it would keep tokens in case of a wrath or sever the bloodline.

PS. Please check out a drop a comment on my Zombie deck when you have time.

I considered building this deck when I first started playing magic. As with the above comments, Dark ritual would only speed things up a few turns, and Thrumming Stone is slow, but the two combined would potentially speed this deck up a LOT.

I'll side deck it for when I switch the deck around. I actually have most recently been playing with two darksteel plates for that reason.

Finally, someone loves the cat! LOL. There are plenty of decent zombie one drops, but I've found that I don't actually NEED any of their abilities, I like the Entrails Feaster because it hates on my opponent's graveyards (I play multiplayer, so it's rarely a problem to nom some creatures) and grows bigger than the rest of the one drops.

No worries. I do normally stomp face with this deck though, but I play it (and all my decks) in multiplayer. I don't usually drop my zombie master until I'm ready to swing for the kill, otherwise I get targeted or he'll get removed, so the redundancy with regenerate doesn't crop up. What's more, I don't think I have ever regenerated with this deck, I'm usually too busy playing everything in my hand to worry about it. As for the utility lands, the only ones that get redundant are having multiple urborgs, but urborgs prevent teh other 8 from not being able to tap for mana. Urborg is also central to the swampwalk strat, and if I took them out for swamps then put in some tutors, I would have to remove creatures. Urborg becomes even more useful when combines with cabal coffers, because the coffers will also count as a swamp.

Honestly, it is rare that I every have problems getting enough mana going in his deck, and with the zombie draw I have I also usually have enough cards to spend on my mana. As for the cost of my first strikers, Warchief reduces all their costs by 1, so my mana curve actually drops significantly, and I rarely have trouble getting 4 mana to get him out.

Why is unholy grotto side decked? It is killer with a messenger. I would suggest some draw cards like Grave Defiler or Graveborn Muse (you can sac her easy but it looks like you have some lifegain built in). I also think that Gempalm Polluter trumps Shepherd of Rot.

In addition, Korlash, Heir to the Blackblade is NEVER a bad thing in a mono black zom deck, especially comboed with Unholy Grotto.

Take a look at my zom deck, it does similar things for a similar price. You might get some fun ideas to build on. :)

In it, I took advantage of what few first striking zombies I could find to combine them with Death Baron's death touch to make a very tough defense.

Actually, Hail of Arrows would work great for building up the storm count too. It would wipe out all of your opponent's smaller attacking creatures, forcing your opponent to sac any big creatures he might have left.

Nice white tribal deck! One of my friends in uni used to play knights and they were always a pain, though he played with a lot of flanking. I've been considering building one, I have yet to build a white deck.

I'm not sure you really need Crusade in there, I would suggest caged sun or gauntlet of power instead. Also, wing shards is a GREAT white control card, especially when comboed with Swords to Plowshares or (if you want some good instants) Brave the Elements or Dawn Charm. You can build up a ridiculous storm count and absolutely devastate your opponent during the blocking phase.

If you don't mind, please take a look at my Black Zombie deck!

Greatbow Doyen is a FANTASTIC card. He's the reason I built an archer deck, though mine is pure green and combos Doyen with Jagged Scar Archers and Evolution Charm to give the opponent's creatures flying then smack them for insanely large direct damage. It's a tribal Elf-Archer deck.

I like the way your deck is reactive, but its obvious weakness is against non aggro decks. You seem to rely on people attacking or defending with creatures, in that regard it is more passive than my deck (though I'm not saying it is not as good, just a different approach). Check out my Elf Archer deck and please drop a comment here:

In response to the first part of your post, yes, they would both be destroyed. That is precisely why you would copy a legendary creature, in order to destroy it.
