Decks make the front page because people like them. It's not the creator's fault. :)

I could rant about all the "decks" that make the front page that aren't even decks at all, just a poor excuse for a discussion forum. There are ACTUAL forums for stuff like that, no need to spam the front page with things that aren't decks.

While I agree that it would be difficult to play, I don't think it's half as useless as the cards on my list. Play it with Crucible of Worlds, Fastbond, and a way to untap it, and you have an instant win combo (provided you have 1 more life).

Alternatively, this card fits REALLY well with Valakut, the molten Pinnacle and Crucible of Worlds. 4 damage (or more if you have more valakuts out) every turn. It would even help you mana accell because you can float the mana before you sac the mountain, then play the mountain again and tap it a second time.

There are ways to use the card, albeit unconventional ways.

I'm honestly not sure that it will at this point, congrats on making top decks though! I've had two top decks so far, maybe it's time to let the zombies rest in peace though? Seems a shame, I'm only six likes away and this deck wins me a lot of games pretty reliably.

Swarmyard - Land that regenerates your rats.

Marrow Gnawer - Rat to give all your rats FEAR. As a bonus, if they are about to die for any reason, tap him, sac a dying rat, and sprout a dozen tokens instead.

I built a relentless rats deck a few days ago, it is very similar. Feel free to take a look:

I used to play a treefolk deck VERY similar to this, but then I changed it by taking out the unstoppable ashes and (gasp) the Doran's. I don't find that treefolk benefit from having that 3rd color, and your most powerful creatures (Dauntless, Wodfall, and Dungrove) don't benefit from him at all. It is nice to be able to play a 3/3 Harbinger, but I don't think it's worth it to have Doran in the deck.

I also don't run birds. I know they speed up the early game, but I much prefer...

Oracle of Mul-Daya!

She combos PERFECT with the rest of the creatures in the deck. Make sure you are always playing the lands on top of your deck so your Leaf Crowned Elders always set off their ability, speed mana directly in to play to pay for your primuses sooner. She can even be put in to play by Leaf Crowned Eldder and benefits from Bosk Banneret because they are all Shaman!

I run two Damnations in the deck (could just as easily be wrath or DoJ) just to wipe the board when my treefolk are all indestructible, thus I also run 4 timbre protectors.

You can take a look at it here. It stomps face pretty consistently and has at time made entire tables surrender when it gets out of control and plays everything, lol.

LOL! You got 98 likes and only two people noticed how mana screwed the deck is! I guess you have created a fun deck to build, hence my detailed comment earlier. Once it's complete it'll be very powerful. good luck taking cards out to make space for lands!

PS. If you have Pariah, you don't need Entangler or Serra's blessing AT ALL. Pariah does on its own, for less mana, what entangler and Serra's Blessing do together. You could take them out in favor of two enlightened tutors unless you really want to avoid old cards. I would also recommend getting rid of Oakenform and Sheltering Ancient, because they give your opponents permanent boosts and you can't guarantee that you will have Stuffy Doll and Pariah out when you need them, which means those two cards will be dead in your hand.

Consider instead having some of the following:
Survival of the Fittest
Defense of the Heart
Pattern of Rebirth
Eladmari's Call
Fauna Shaman
Green Sun Zenith

All of those could help you get Stuffy out ASAP, you can't afford to not have him available in this deck.

Also consider:

Enlightened Tutor (mentioned above)
Academy Reactor
Sterling Grove
Idyllic Tutor

These will all allow you to find whatever enchantments you need.

Other cards to consider:
Sylvan Library
Abundance
Pursuit of Knowledge
Harmonize

These are because, if your deck is based around instants, you want to keep your hand full.

Also consider:
Wall of Omens
Wall of Glare
Wall of Blossoms

More card draw and defense to allow you to set up your combo.

Even if you are trying to avoid old cards, you should be able to find some new ones in those suggestions that will allow you to make your deck work faster and more reliably.

I'm glad I could be of service, If you would be so kind to return the favor, I'd be happy to take comments, suggestions, and likes on my mono black zombie tribal deck. It's almost front page (a little ahead of yours) and I would like it to get there. I think it is worthy. I play all my decks in multiplayer, and at times this one has made tables give up. :)

I'm also a big fan of my treefolk deck. It also makes multiplayer tables give up.

PS. I was an English teacher in China for two years, and I used Magic the Gathering for casual learning with some advanced English students (I wouldn't make them pay for that kind of lesson, lol). If they were gamers, they LOVED it. In the end I had some of them coming over to my house (uni students and Chinese English teachers) several times a week to play magic and other games (poker, Settlers of Katan, Munchkin) regularly. Def got my magic fix in China! :)

If you are looking for a GREAT learner deck, here's one that went front page a few weeks back. It's not my deck so please don't think I'm spamming, I'm just trying to help. :)

http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=377120

Other advice for learner decks, I often teach people how to play using Tribal decks. Tribal decks usually have a very simple and obvious synergy and will emphasize a small number of aspects of the game that are great as starting points for learning. I have several tribal decks but I'll point you at two I'm fond of for their relatively easy playability and functionality.

http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=381596 - Zombie deck, it's almost front page, I would appreciate comments and likes.

http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=382265 - Treefolk deck, drops big creatures fast with a simple but effective win combo involving making your treefolk indestructible, then dropping damnation. Suggestions and comments are appreciated as well.

Don't try teaching people on sliver decks though. Sliver decks aren't super complicated, but there are just too many abilities to keep track of. They would be best used after a new player already understands all of the basic game mechanics as a next step. :)

Oh, and I just realized I have a deck that does something similar to your wrath strategy. It's a treefolk deck that makes every treefolk indestructible before dropping damnation.

I agree but wrath of god trumps day of judgement. Also, I used to play against a white deck that ran wing shards, it's good against an agro deck, especially when combined with cheap instants like your brave the elements. Someone attacks you, you slam protection from their color, your storm count is at least 1 (probably more if they played anything during their main phase one, which most people do), then play wing shards. They sac 2 or more attacking creatures, and they are probably only attacking with their biggest, then you block the rest with your protected creatures. It wrecks board position almost as bad as wrath.

In multiplayer, you can even do it when they are attacking an opponent, it you think it is strategically wise.

Please check out my zombie deck and comment. :)

Just read thrashtastical's post and Pariah would be much better than Entangler. If you are stubborn about mono green you could run Pariah's Shield. You have a win con, but you haven't thought about defense yet.

I was going to suggest entangler for defense but then I saw you are going mono green. I would highly recommend green white with entangler and Serra's Blessing for vigilance, that way you can attack and you have stuffy doll for a perfect defense. Also, spidersilk armor so you can block flying.

If you want to pump your opponent's creatures up, it is probably best to do it with instants. That way, when they are attacking you you will not regret making them stronger. Best suggestions (mostly green, but the best possible card is again, white):

Righteousness <- White, but your best possible card
Gerrard's Command <- Again, white, but forces a blocker to untap AND makes it bigger
Night//Dar (Day)
Now for just green cards:
Beserk
Vines of Vastwood
Primal Bellow <- Only add this card if you are NOT adding white
Might of old Krosa

Echoing courage would combo nicely with forbidden orchard.

This deck is okay, but if you want it to do its absolute best, it NEEDS to be green white.

With all of the deathtouching and firststriking I don't think an undead executioner will really help the deck, and it would raise the mana curb again, which is already high enouch. Thanks for the idea though. Will check out your deck.

The deck looks like it would work very similarly to my Fat fat fatty deck. Graveyard decks often do. My deck is built around creature pairings though, because of Defense of the Heart's ability. How fast does your deck usually go off? Mine usually has 2 fatties in play by turn 4-6.

I like Empyrial Archangel, if you were to make her indestructible she would be much more powerful though. Same thing with Platinum Angel. *cough AVACYN cough*. It is because of decks like this that I keep Entrails Feaster in my Zombie deck, check it out!

Doomgape might be a nice substitute for Braids, except he only forces me to sac a creature, whereas with both Sheholdred and braids out, my opponents have to sac 2 permanents (at least one creature) each turn. I've considered running yosei for that combo, but usually by the time I've gotten that far along in the game, my opponents have already given up, lol! This deck makes whole tables cry.

Rune scarred would be good in a piper deck, but I use piper as a fallback in case things accidentally end up in my hand, I would rather not plan on putting them in my hand, it is much more effective to play them from the deck.
