Idea would be this:

1)Play my creatures with Phasing. Have them phased out. Then have Words of Wind in play. Play 3 or 4 card drawing spells. Each of us return 3 or 4 permanents.

2)Then, during my next upkeep, all of my creatures phase back into play. Then I attack (and hopefully those 3 or 4 permanents were creatures that were bounced) with my creatures. Then my creatures phase back out.

3)I play 3 or 4 more draw spells, bouncing 3 or 4 more permanents. My creatures phase back in. And I attack again. If my creatures are phased out, they can't be bounced with Words of Wind.

IT is a different take on Words of Wind...most use Enchantresses.

It is my favorite....if it is like this: KnightoftheHokeyPokey is known for being a smart ass, and Kazzong is known for being kind and always suggesting decent cards, and surewhynot is known for his solid deck building...and Puschkin is known for knowing rules...I want to be known for either:

1) Guy who makes good bounce decks, or
2) Guy who makes really fun Theme decks.

So...with your answer, Activate words of wind in response of Divination. So, it is one bounce per draw spell (no matter if the spell tells you to draw 1 or 7 cards)? You can't activate Words of Wind twice since Divination tells you to draw two cards?

And yep, you guessed it, I want to build a deck around Words of WInd card.
Problem is...it makes myself and my opponent return a permanent to my hand. I could use phasing (is that even still used nowadays, creatures that fade out?) or I could use cards that have "when leaves play" and "when enters play," abilities. So, If i have to bounce my stuff, it will hurt my opponent.

Ugh to sideboards! lol. Don't get me started on that rant again. I don't play tourneys. Even if i am playing someone, with someone using the same deck over and over, I usually don't change my cards out. That is why people give me hell when I yell at them about not having any creature or artifact/enchantment hate in their main decks. They keep telling me, "that is what the sideboard is for!" lol

Joking aside.
Soul of Phyrexia?
Circle of Flame?

Not really good at Standard. Don't know the cards.

Good luck!

Puschkin always intimidates me! It seems like he has thought of it all...the fact that he liked my Beast Within suggestion was a huge win with me!!!

But i do think big creatures could maybe be an option.

And the new Ensoul Artifact doesn't help. :)
Question guys. I am thinking once a month. I know people hate theme decks, with a passion. But they do get other decks noticed and commented on.
So, I did this Static Ability Challenge.
I am thinking of doing other theme decks. You post your deck and I post it on my deck and comment on it. It gets extra views and likes.

Was thinking: Maybe Theme Deck Challenge.
Example: My Lions, Tiger, and Bears oh my deck
Or: Mutant Ninja Turtles deck
Or Spongebob Square pants deck.

Sky is the limit. If you have them (I seen a pervy "sex" themed deck on here, the other day. Ugh, it had Little Girl in it), you could post them to my theme deck. I would comment on it, suggest cards, and like it if i thought it was good. It would help your deck get more notices.

Or I was thinking: Color Hate Deck Challenge.
Make decks and post them that are nothing but hate against one color deck.
Example: A red burn deck with spells against blue. It's entire purpose is to be blue hate. Using cards like Boiling Seas and Pyroblast. Active Volcano.

I know I have not been receiving much love lately...i think people got tired of me. Anyways, if you guys would be interested, i could do it.

Acorn Catapult...maybe?
It could ping the opponent, (or creature), and give them a 1/1 creature. Slow...but it maybe could work.

Swan Song?

Some combos with Thornbite Staff:

Elemental Mastery + Seething Pathblazer. (Red combo)
Elemental Mastery + Nankuto Husk (red and black)

Demonic Hordes + Nature's Revolt (Black and green combo)

Nantuko Husk + Presence of Gond (black and green combo)

Viridian Longbow + Thornweald Archer

If you were to run blue, which might also be a better way to search for the Staff, combos you could consider:

Royal Assassin + Frozen AEther (black and blue combo)

Plus, if you add blue...you get Changelings. They count as Shamans. Right? Amoeboid Changeling shows great experimental promise. Make non shaman creatures shaman creatures as he wishes.

Speaking of Changelings:

Moonglove Changeling + Power of Fire (black and red combo)

Speaking of Sharpshooters...what about Lightning Crafter. .

Good luck!

Tricky tricky. One neat Hive Mind deck I seen was putting in stuff like Pact cards. Summoner's Pact, for example. Then forcing your opponent to play the same spell, and them having to pay 2 green 2 colorless during their upkeep, of they lost the game.

http://www.mtgvault.com/planestalker/decks/hive-mind-pact-deck/
Posted the link, even though i know you are very original and do not like to copy decks. Indeed, you even point out that people that copy are what is wrong with Magic Vault. Just posted it because I enjoyed the Interaction with the Pacts and Hive Mind. But it has been done so many damn times. So, not original at all.

IF going Winterbane Orb...you could try to get away with playing burn. Might consider bounce/counter spells to protect the Orb.

Hive Mind...and all of your black cards in your sideboard, so that means you are going for black (and blue). So, what about this idea: Run black creatures...then instant sorcery cards like Reckless Spite. Or Terror. Dead Ringers. Festergloom. Wicked Pact. So...you have all black creatures, all of your opponent's have to copy spells like Reckless Sprite and Festergloom. They end up killing their own creatures while doing nothing to your creatures.

And for blue cards...Hive Mind...draw spells, probably. Speeds the game up, for everyone, which is fun and interesting.

A search engine for Hive Mind is recommended.

Since you love crazy cards, friend, Elephant Grass. That damned nasty upkeep! Yuck. However, with you and your opponent (even if he does it against his will) nuking all nonblack creatures, Elephant Grass makes it to where all the surviving creatures on the board (black creatures that Festergloom/terror/wicked pact did not kill off) can not attack you. In other words, nuke the board of all creatures except black creatures. Then play Elephant Grass and the black creatures can't attack.

Anyways...good luck. I owe you a lot. Sound advice...some of which has got me decks with a lot of likes. I feel so dumb offering advice to you, and that is why i do not do it more often.

Enjoy!

*I only own a single Forbidden Orchard, so I might need more ways to give my opponents creatures so that I can Oath myself.*

Beast Within
Nuke their best permanent, and put out a creature.

Hunted Phantasm.
Gives your opponent's a lot of creatures.

You mentioned Modern, so is this suppose to end up Modern?
If not, and money is not an option, Worldly Tutor and Oath of Druids can be deadly together.

Side note, weren't you trying to do a Shared Fate deck?
Considered Oath of Druids...and it's interactions? Run Gaea's Blessing and Pedantic Learning for fun casual play.

I owe you more than that much.
Might be a day or two...but i will get to them.

Thanks for discussing this :) Glad to get both of your intakes.

S0rin, yeah...maybe I am relying too much on Dissipate and Void Snare as well as the Jest/Circle of Flame combo. But i do need the Shrapnel Blast in the deck.

Thanks for both of your takes on it.

I was going with M15...but honestly, it was just an attempt at Standard. I haven't done one in a really long time. Any suggestions Kazzong, you are a really solid deck builder...so you recommend good cards. It doesn't have to be from M15...I guess.

Same with Alayjo95. He gave some solid advice, which I appreciate. His deck and mine are close alike, for the most part.

Need help guys.
As you have seen in my last few decks...flashy combo decks I can do pretty well. Theme decks, yep, can make them as good as anyone else...Standard however...I suck at.

Made my first standard deck in 12 years.
Please, comment on it. Need lots of help.
Challenged myself and made the entire deck out of M15 cards.

Trying to keep the deck fully M15. But yes, that would be a brutal card in this deck. For sure! Nice suggestion.
