And once the Hippo makes the opponent tap out his lands...spreading algae/copy enchantment destroy the opponent''s lands.

Don't need counterspells.

By turn 5 my opponent has no lands to play anything.
Turn 5, 6, 7, etc...each turn I attack and rebounce their entire field.
It is nasty. Total lock down for under 20 bucks.

Almost 30 decks posted! Nice. Been busy...and haven't contributed like i should have, yet. But i will.
But for now, I will post my old budget deck.
Not only is it Budget...but it is MY favorite deck I have ever built (that the deck idea has not been borrowed from someone else).

"It rocks! It rocks! It rocks!
It is too good for me to suggest any card!
Too good deck, man. Too good."

That quote came from Northy. It made my day to read what Northy wrote about my favorite deck. Especially him being the king of Budget decks.

Check it out:

Most likely just a search engine for the Wall as well as Essence Harvest.

My version.

Splinter. Target their land. Then goodbye lands! Only lands left are he ones he has on board. None left in the graveyard, his hand, or in his library. And you remove the ones he has in play, with stuff like Smelt...and game over.

Myr Landscaper helps with the goodbye land idea.

Good luck.

Check out mine and see if you have any advice. :)

P.S. I like the deck. Looks fun.

Will look for cards too, if i do replace it. I have boomerang and counterspell. That is enough disruption (especially considering Hidden Strings does not work exactly like i wanted it to).

Thanks for the advice, everyone!!

Crap...missed the "sorcery" part. lol

Hidden String is good, if you get to Untap 2 TIms to steal two more creatures or to draw two more cards.
It just isn't as versatile as i once believed (i assumed it was an instant). But still, 2 mana to draw two cards or steal two creatures is great.

But steal...wish it was a damn instant.

It may not be budget though.
But it fits your deck.

Not sure why the hell this doesn't have way more likes!!!
I will give it one.
Sorry this deck got passed over.

I would consider one card...something like Boomerang or Eye of Nowhere or Capsize. Something of that sort.
As you said, Disenchant is your worst nightmare.

So, they cast Disenchant on your card, you simply Boomerang it back to your hand, and replay it next turn. And you live to fight another day.

Nice deck!

Thieving Magpie is really nice. I use to run 1 in my old blue deck...when i first started...and couldn't afford to buy 4 copies of cards for my deck. I had 1 Rootwater Thief in the deck too.

To this day...i can't tell you which one i like the most.

And Hermetic Study, i do not have the card even though Urza Saga was my favorite series. I specifically collected the Urza series in binders. Have lots of the Urza expansion cards, still put up. Some never even played!

Will definitely look at the deck, like it, and recommend changes if i can find any.

No, not really considered nonbasic lands. But the Nythokos is a good one.
Faerie Conclave, if i had to go with a nonbasic land, is probably what i would pick, though. Just because it is Old School.

Thanks for the support and the card recommendation, RHLuke.

It hurt my head in it's complexity. :)
There are better people on here for such decks.

Try this link:

Puschkin gives great advice on older decks/cards.

I can't.

Have Charisma, so no need of Sigil of Sleep. Same with the Collar (which i had 3 copies and recently sold them for a decent price)...why kill their creatures when I can steal them?

Hidden Strings is so freaking versatile. That is why I am keeping it. I do appreciate the advice from both lotusbloom and Puschkin, to remove it.

But being able, all with one card to:
1) Untap two Tims at one time.
2) Draw two cards or steal two creatures (via Tims)
3) Tap two of their lands, greatly putting tempo on my side.
4) Untap one of my Tims and tap one of their creatures.
5) Being able to tap 2 of their creatures that are attacking.
6) Ability to answer to their artifacts/enchantments.
7) Late game combo with Morphling.
8) Can interact with the creatures I steal from my opponent.

It is just too versatile to take out. I do appreciate the advice from both of you, lotusbloom and puschkin.
Both of you suggest it being the weakest card in the deck. So, that there is strength in numbers. Meaning you guys are probably right. I just can't bring myself to take it out.

True story. When Magic the Gathering first made Lions Eye Diamond, no crap, they made it with the intent that NO ONE WOULD ever be able to use it.

In other words, it was never meant to be used/taken seriously. It was suppose to be a crappy filler card. It was even rated by Inquest as a 1 out of 5 star card! No lie. That is why it was less than 3 dollars and Lotus Petal was worth more. Now, more than 15 years later, the Lions Eye Diamond is worth more than Lotus Petal or Force of Will, and it is one of the highest rated cards in Magic History.

Go figure!!!

Same story with the Power Nine cards.
Richard Garfield had no idea they would end up so powerful years after they were made.

Mtg isn't perfect...and have made mistakes.
