Check out any decks that I have, that you play.
Example, if you play Red Burn decks...then check out my Red Burn decks.
If you play control, then look at a few of my few decks.

I am always ready to make my decks better.
Any advice rocks!

Potch, you have 5 decks, but i can't see any of them.
Is that on purpose, or are they on Private?

Potch has only 13 posts, but seeing him recommend such good cards, he is well on his way!

Small world! :)
Yeah, i did read that we were hoping for a tie with Germany. But that Germany had lost a few matches...had something to prove, and wasn't just going to be satisfied with a tie.
I don't blame them.
Congrats!

Which country is that?
We in the states, do not follow soccer as much as the world does.
But I think USA is in the round of 16 too.
Think we had to face Germany.

Regardless, you get my point, right?
That Tribal decks are easy to recommend to new people.
Easy to build.
Easy to do research on.
Sound interesting.

Zia, you are new here. So, i will boost your confidence.
Puschkin rarely supports a deck/likes it/gives really good reviews.

So...when he gave such kind words to your Frenemies deck..take it as you are doing something right. That you are definitely on the right track!

Good luck!

I will agree to both Zia and jerzey.
That is what i have done to get decks on the hot page.
It has taken me over 1500 comments on other decks to gain a rep of 296 (almost there to 300).

I just hate to see people that don't do that, with crappy decks, end up on the hot page.
Especially considering how much time I put in decks, how much time i spend searching for cards to suggest to people, and how much positive advice I try to give to other people's decks.
Then you see these people who never post on anyone's decks, who have crappy decks themselves, but are at the top of the hot page.

It irks me.
But it is about having fun. It is about people helping you build better decks.
It is about the Magic community.

Agreed.

AS stated above Puschkin, I totally agree. That is why I have been trying movie/song themes lately.
Did a Harry Potter Slytherin deck.
Wanted to do a Ravenclaw deck, but they are blue and gold and represented with Eagles.
But there are no blue eagles.
Anways, I also did a Wizard of Oz deck.
As well as a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle deck.

Working on others as we speak.

But i see the lust to build a tribal deck...especially if you are new to Magic.
Here is what a new magic player asks his friends,
"What is a good magic deck to start out with?"
Every time the answer is, "What about a Goblin or Elf deck?"

No one recommends a blue control deck, or a black discard deck, or any such thing.
Tribal decks are easy to build, easy to like, easy to recommend.

Here is what I hate. The actual word "TRIBAL."
Pretty sure they just said, back in the day when i played, "what creature type are you running?"
The word "TRIBAL" seems so freaking lame It makes me embarrassed to have a Goblin Deck.
Sounds so formal!

I do understand where he is coming from. I really do.

NOT TO SAY ANYTHING ABOUT THIS DECK

But I have had pretty much the same rant, red in the face, mad as hell at people on this site.
In particular it was this one deck that ran Wee Dragonauts.
Everyone freaking loved it!!
And I went on a rant, very similar to his, wondering outloud/written form, how a deck that was so weak/so open to attack/so easy to disrupt could get so many damn likes!
People told me to stop being a douche, but as I said, I see where Dantanius is coming from.
That Wee Dragonauts had one win condition that relied on 4 cards in his entire deck.
Let me repeat that again, this deck that had 30-40 likes had ONE WIN CONDITION THAT RELIED ON 4 CARDS. One burn spell, and he loses. One counterspell, and he loses. One prevent damage spell, and he loses. Hell, ONE FREAKING BLOCKING CREATURE, and he loses the game!!

There are HUNDREDS IF NOT THOUSANDS of decks on this site way better than that crappy Wee Dragonauts deck...but did they get any likes? Definitely not 30 or more likes, that is for sure. So many good decks get passed over because no one know understands the decks, or feels intimated to suggest ideas. And so many crappy decks, on this site, get a lot of likes because they are very simple, easy to suggest ideas, and easy for everyone to gather and discuss around.

Finally felt vindicated when people started saying the same thing about that Dragonaut deck...why in the hell would such a fragile deck be so liked when so many other decks on this site could beat it with their eyes closed.

And I am not just fussing at other people. Two of my top decks on this site (I think I erased them after I realized they would not work according to Magic rules), with the most likes, did not work!!! And yet a lot of people voted for them! And as Dantanius said, people liked them even though they did not even work!
Example: I have a Donate/Grandeur deck on this site with 9 likes!! And it doesn't even work because I can't pay for the upkeep cost (need something like Sapphire Medallion).

It is aggravating to put weeks into a deck. Design it. Test it. Over and over. Build it. Win with it. And post it on here and it get no likes while some super flawed/non-working/one win condition deck gets 50 plus likes. What is the worst is to know that your deck would beat that 50 like deck 10 out of 10 games.

The 20 creature part does limit it to what tribes you can add. That one is true.

My discard deck I just posted to the unloved deck.
Apparently your deck is more loved.
But check out mine anyways, read the description. Run a few Sample draws.
It does work.

I know because I kept getting my butt handed to me by a very similar deck.
If you get Nihil Stone out very early, and cast Ensnaring Bridge...if your opponent does not have any answers, then it is over very quickly.

Good luck with your deck!
It looks like it has a lot of potential.

Okay. Advice. I can do that.

Ensnaring Bridge. For it to be most effective, you want to have no cards in your hand. Right? But you also want your opponent to have no cards in his hand either (because that means you have been doing a good job at making him discard!). So, how do you do this? How do you make both your hand and your opponent's hand empty? You use global discard spells. Discard spells that make both you and your opponent's discard cards.

In comes Delirium Skeins and Chain of Smog.
Delirium Skeins is going to make you and your opponent discard 3 cards! Talk about emptying your hand quickly and making sure Ensnaring Bridge is at full power!
Chain of Smog will make the opponent discard 2 cards, plus it allows your opponent to make you discard 2 cards afterwords, and then allows you to make your opponent discard 2 more cards. If your opponent is dumb, he will keep bouncing Chain of Smog back and forth and both of you will be out of cards and he will not be able to attack because of Ensnaring Bridge!

I think it is better than your super slow Temple Bell/Necrogen Mists combo!
Unless I am missing something, and i am stupid at times, that is like 6 mana to make your opponent discard 1 card every turn.

If you are going to rework it...may I try to turn you over to the dark side?
There are people who run The Rack/Affliction.
Then there are the people who run Quest for the Nihil Stone.
I think it is faster, to the point, and more abrasive compared to The Rack/Affliction.

Also consider Mutilate over Hero's Downfall.

Admire your friend for trying/picking Blue right out of the gate.
Definitely one of the hardest colors to learn Magic with.
Will say this, if he can Blue, then it will help him learn every color/mana.

I see where you said it is some unused cards of yours.
I would recommend...if he learns and likes the deck, and goes with Jace's Phantasm being is favorite card, that he considers running 2 more Mind Sculpt and 3 or 4 Tome Scour. Take out the Numbing Dose (5 mana is a huge amount of mana, and you have several cards in your deck that do close to the same thing but for cheaper mana) and the Jace's Erasure for them. Idea, as you know friend, is to play 1) Jace's Phantasm 2) Mind Sculpt 3) Tome Scour as fast as you can. It is much faster than Numbing Dose and Jace's Erasure.

If he likes the Latch Seeker, i would recommend him running more pump up or copies of Last Thoughts and Hands of Binding. Of course, using Cipher on him.

Oh yeah, you have 9 cards that are creature hate (tapping them) but you have no cards for any other type of hate. Nothing to combat Artifacts/Enchantments/Equipment. I might consider something more global in removal/bounce. Just for protection. Or at least teach your friend that if he sees a creature being cast...to not use his Counterspells on it. Teach him to use his counterspells only on Artifacts/Enchantments/Etc since he has no other way to remove them. Or consider a card like Cyclonic Rift for threat removal. Or Disperse.

Tell him,
Good luck!
