Ive actually found Oracle to be a win/win card in my burn list, but I run Toil//Trouble out of the board, and that can be backbreaking.

Guttersnipe would be better as more burn. Wild Guess is also pretty bad, unless youre getting mana swamped and can afford to pitch mountains.

no one here is angry. I actually do think you were being serious, and now you realize that you look like an idiot, so youre backtracking. its cute though.

Maverick is a legacy archetype that runs many modern legal cards..Usually G/W/x, with Knight of the Reliquary.

not really, with bitterblossom bleeding you every turn, it makes it tough to get the numbers up too high

brave the elements only costs 1, which is relevant in a deck that has to tap out every turn to play creatures.

Soul's attendant and Essence Warder are both the same creature as Soul Warden

not exactly. scrying is a very powerful tool, and you are in colors that dont allow for things like Serum Visions and Condescend, but sacrificing your mana base to scry just isnt as good in modern as it is in standard. shock lands and buddy lands. maybe even the on color man lands are where you want to be. I could see Read the Bones being decent for the scry/draw effect here

scry lands are only playable in standard. there are too many better options for mana bases in modern that an upgraded guildgate is obsolete before it hits the ground.

If you NEED to scry, you can add Viscera Seer as a sac outlet to dump some tokens into for it, and not have to worry about your mana base being clunky.

exactly. it gets you the benefit without providing it to your opponents who happen to be sharing those colors.

you are correct. it uses "as" not "when" I misread it. the point still stands that not playing a single color deck because of one card is absurd.

a neat trick with extraplanar lens is to run snow lands instead of regular basics. this allows you to exile a snow land, to double only those types.

Ok, smart guy, since you want to play the "what if" game and you cast Iona when he doesnt have his only counterspell, here you go:
What if you play Iona, and he responds to her ETB trigger by bouncing her back to your hand every time you cast her, time walking you every turn, because you insist on jamming a 9 drop into a deck full of answers for it?

and its Iona, not Emeria, and if you build decks because youre scared of one card, you should probably not be playing EDH. theres a reason Wizards bans cards like Primeval Titan and Sylvan Primordial and not Iona.

you're right. people shouldnt play mono colored magic because they printed ONE card that shuts their deck off. its not like the deck is blue, or something, so it might have access to counterspells. Yeah. that could never happen.

they have printed decent inspired. the problem isnt with the abilities themselves, its that the mechanic is clunky and relies too much on other sources to make it good. Pain Seer and the 6 drop Sphinx both have great abilities, but, without an engine, require 2 turns to become relevant.

if it s a counter-based heroic, it would lose all the counters currently on it, and come back with only one (or two, depending on the creature) counters on it.....doesnt seem worth it to waste the card slot.
