Buddy Lands are the lands that come into play tapped unless you control a Basic land type that shares a color with it., IE: Drownd Catacombs taps for both black and blue, but comes into play tapped unless you have a swamp or island (or dual land with those types, like Watery Grave), Hence, the land needs a "buddy" to bring it in untapped.

This is a Conley Woods list, you added 2 duress and some guildgates. Give credit where credit is due.

you probably want to max out on Drown in Filth with the metagame being more aggro/midrange. 2 kill spells seems like it might not be enough. I would board the duress.

Dredge runs Lions Eye Diamond and Cabal Therapy the last relevant list at a major event was SCGO Milwaulkee, where a list costing $590 took 4th. I would still consider that budget, but not under $250. White Weenie is called Death and Taxes, and runs Wasteland, Karakas, Stoneforge mystic, and Rishadan Port. The most recent relevant "White Weenie" list was piloted at the SCG Invitational, Las Vegas by Andrew Shrout to 4th place. It checks in as $1300. hardly budget, not even close to $250.

you have yet to produce a competitive decklist that runs under $250.

Elves requires 4 Gaea's Cradle ($150 each), Affinity isnt good in Legacy, Burn? really? whens the last time you saw a legacy burn deck do well in a tournament? This is a list of decks that you COULD play in legacy, not a list of "some of the best legacy decks"
Sure, you can make any deck cheaper by not running 4 tundra, 4 underground sea, ect, but there is not a legacy deck out there doing well without Wasteland.

I doubt that....Pox is one of the cheapest Legacy decks, and its still over $300. prduce lists to back up claim.

Think Twice just seems like a better spell than Desperate Ravings. in fact since this is modern, Serum Visions, Gitaxian Probe, and Telling Time also seem like better options.

Lightning Helix is a $3 card, and worth it. Warleader's Helix sees 0 play in Modern because of the existence of Lightning Helix.

because there is a ton of graveyard hate in modern. Scavenging Ooze, Deathrite Shaman, Relic of Progenetus, Bojuka Bog, ect. all see play to deal with Lingering Souls and Unburial Rites decks. If retrace is your win condition, you need to have it maxed out for insurance.

there is no need for it in the sideboard, you bring in Gainsay and Sin Collector against other control decks, and count on Mutavault to do your heavy lifting. Elixir is a good card, but not necessary in Esper Control lists.

I know the it works, im just saying that its pretty inconsistent. Wizards doesnt try to kill decks, they just try to drop the power level when they ban something, and typically that means removing the most consistent piece of the puzzle.

its actually too weak in Modern without second sunrise. the draws arent as smooth with only Faith's Reward. thats why they didnt ban both. the deck still works, but its super inconsistent.

the deck uses recursion to bring it back multiple times. this is an iteration of a deck called "second Breakfast" that won a Modern tourney last year before Second Sunrise (which does the same thing as Faith's Reward, for (1) cheaper) was banned for being the engine of a combo deck that took WAY too much time to execute.

MtM is certianly better on a stick, but Shred is a great sb card and tutor in general for a low cmc deck. I also dont think you can transmute off the scepter...

MtM is a great option. you could also run Shred Memory, which has the transmute for 2cmc, but also has a better actual card application in the format, wearing some graveyard hate at instant speed. being able to shrink a Goyf during combat to kill it is a pretty sweet trick.
