...when you copy a spell with X in it's mana coast, you'd need to play the X part of it a 2nd time, so it's useless... ...when you copy a wipe, the copy resolves the same time as the original spell, so it won't take out the Thragtusk token... ...I have lots of control, so creatures doesn't matter 1 bit... ...the only spell that could weaken this deck is Slaughter Games & I've prepared the deck against that very well, so it's not too much of a threat any more...

True, Trollking... ...though I don't like virtual testing at all... ...when I don't yet have the cards, I cink them & try it out in many situations...

The "draw sample hand" option here gives very inrational opening hands & so... ...sometimes, there are 9 lands consecitively... The deck is stabil & competative, as I tried it against many of my decks & playtested with some of my friends... ...I have 12 ramp cards & 23 lands, plus 4 draw spell, so it's more than fine :) ...rarely, it happens, that all I get in the early game is 1-2 Keyrune, no Pilgrim, no Visionary, no Farseek, & it still works out great, 'cuz if I don't get that much ramp, I'm still getting at least 4 lands early, so I can play a Thragtusk on tuen 4 in the worst case cinerio... :) ...I've seen, that decks, like this(only much-much weaker) could beat even competative America & Bant control decks 3-0, so I wanted to try it out... ...but this could not beat either of my R/U/W, or Bant tournament decks... ...it sucks out 3-1 usually...

...if you've red the discription, than you know, this is not my deck, so I don't make all the decidions... ...though I still disagree with your suggestions, mcfly, 'cuz at 1 point you've suggested a completely different deck(good suggestion1 - harsh criticism 1 on my part)... ...& now you are telling me to use Pillar & Act... ...Act destroyes most of my creatures as well & I already use Pillar... ...Thunderbolt is a sideboard type of card... ...Mizzium Mortars is highly effective & overpowered, no matter it's not an instant, 'cuz instant burn spells suck in todayes standard... I respect your opinion & I wasn't being harsh... ...it's just you haven't seen through this deck completely & you couldn't see how it would play out... ...also, I thank you for spending time & energy trying to help us with this deck, but this1 is really not worth it, 'cuz it's not that competative & my friend doesn't have the arsenal for making a better deck...
Elecutors is not a good choise... ...if it gets removed from board, even if only temporarly, it loses all it's counters... ...I'd rather play some Thragtusk & other kind of control spells, not fog... ...may be a couple of Jaces to add & Armada Wurm, &/or Serenity... ...I'd drop Arbor Elf for 2-2 of the Keyrune you can use here... I'd use Talrand in the mainboard... I understand, that I suggest a completely different deck here, but this Elecutor/Fog strategy is just not a winner... Endless Ranks is not worth it... ...for 4 Troll, you don't have enough stuff to effectivly discard... ...with only zombies, you won't win a tournament... ...you need an extra mechanical part of the deck that you could finish the game with... ...& for that perpouse, Vraska is perfect, expecially with blue, since you can have Artful Dodge there :) ...here are my B/G/U zombies: http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=393748
I've experienced sort the same problem... ...when I go to "deck comment inbox", or to front page, some my decks show less comments, than when I enter them... ...as I see it here, spyfellow has about 31 comments here above mine & it showes 28 instead... ...so this is quite different, than what my decks looked like...
I like your comments, 'cuz you alwayes have points & it seems you are truely interested in quite some parts of both the built & playing strategy... :) I run lots of wipes, so it's not a problem having 2-3 of the same legendary creature in hand... ...& I play quite some draw spells, so I alwayes have enough spells & lands to play... :) ...in a control deck, it's not essential to have your lands enter untapped... ...it's usually not required to take adventage of the flow of the deck... ...8 shocks is not that much anywayes... ...those few lives won't decide the game anyway... ...& the most life I've lost dou to my lands is 4 in a game... ...Thought Scour is only worth with Noxious Revival & Miracles & Revival is out of standard now... ...Think Twice is much expensive, but able to give you 2 cards as an instant & with 9 miracles mainboard & 2 in the sideboards, it's essential... ...Scour was also great with Surgical Extraction, but it's also out now :( ... I need Gisela, when the opponent playes 4 Slaughter Games & may be some Snapcaster with it (I need an extra possible finisher)... This is actually the 1st competative deck I've yet seen of this type... :) ...though, it's slow & you play very few ramp in it... ...you don't need Trostani, since the only token you can have is Thrag's 3/3 beast... ...the life gain thing is nice with her, but not worth, since even Thrag's toughness is only 3... ...Trostani is only worth, when you play Armada Wurm... I'd drop Trostani & put Sigarda(2 copies) in the sideboard & put in 1 more Reunion, 1 more Elixir & 1 more land(Gavony Township)... ...I'd put Fog(3 copies) in the sideboard & put 2 Selesnya Keyrune in the main deck... Possible sideboard: 2x Sigarda, 3x Fog, 3x Rest in Peace, 3x Pithing Niedle, 3x Selesnya Charm, 1x Elixir of Immortality.......

Thanks for your good question!.. ...Nevermore is expecially against Slaughter Games & against control decks that run only 1-2 finishers.......
1st: Syncopate is nothing compared to Dissipate... ...2nd: the Healer is trash at a competative tournament(though, I'm not taking this deck to a tournament, 'cuz I have a better Bant)... ...3rd: Think Twice is not too good, when you play only 3 miracles in the deck... ...4th: This is a control/midrange Bant deck & there are Terminus & Feeling of Dread in it... ...5th: like almost all players, you also fail to realize how great Sigarda is(indures Mortars/overload, any targeting stuff, won't be sacrificed, when she's the only creature you control)... ...she is so much better, than the Geist... ...6th: Pilgrim is a mana creature wich could be & will be taken out usually by Golgari Charm, Electrickery, Izzet Staticaster, Tragic Slip, Pillar of Flame, etc... ...('cuz at a competative circle, your opponent will realize, that you rely on your mana creatures & will eleminate them early)... ...7th: I don't care, what is sablonically in a Bant midrange deck, if this is better, than most... ...a builder/player can't hung up on deck type namings &/or shitty sablons, that the so called "pro-es" created....... 1st..: Clone is only worth in the mainboard... ... ...Desperate Ravings is a shitty card, run Think Twice instead!.. ...use Pillar of Flame, rather than the Spear!.. ...you play 22 lands, no ramp, not much draw & you still run 4 Bonfire... ...pointless... ...2 is enough with a 4th Mortars... ...the Guildgate is useless... ...it enters tapped & Sulfur Falls enteres tapped on it too, if you draw only those two type of lands at the opening... ...1 more Mountain & 1 more Island would be better(still 15 lands that could add red & 15 that could add blue mana)...
I've seperated this deck already... ...though, I'll explain... Nevermore is expecially against Slaughter Games, but also great against another control deck, that runs few finishers... Negate & the extra Dissipate is when the opponent's key cards are noncreature cards & Dissipate is also good against grave decks... ...I think Rest in Peace is clear... ...Feeling of Dread is good when the opponent playes fast creatures... ...the extra Terminus is also against creature - based decks & expecially good against zombies... ...if you haven't seen my other control decks, that I actually use, than they are on the 6th to 7th pages of my profile: ("Demonic Brilliance", "Crusade for Freedom" & "Tamiyo's Revelation")....... :)
Resto' is only worth for Tusk... ...Troll has only Crawler to discard for him... ...the mana base is horrible... ...4 Salvage is too much for this deck... ...the sideboard is not logical...
...not enough scavange/discardable creatures for the Troll... ...Silverheart is awesome with both Beastmaster & Guildmage, so you should run more... ...you play very few lands here... ...drop the Keyrune, you don't need it!.. ...put 1 Decay & 1 Charm in the sideboards!.. ...drop 1 Rancor & Salvage(not too good here)!.. ...add 2 more lands!.. ...put in 4 Gravecrawler(you are playing quite some zombies here & it's great with the Troll)... ...& add 1 more Silverheart!.. ...3 Cavern is enough... ...may be a 4th in the sideboards... Possible sideboards: 1x Abrupt Decay, 1x Golgari Charm, 3x Tragic Slip, 3x Murder, 3x Duress, 1x Cavern of Souls, 3x Ground Seal....... Good luck!
