Glad to see you back man. I agree that the top decks have been pretty lackluster as of late, and I'm not entirely sure why (seems there's been a large influx of new[er] posters...might have to do with that).

I like this design a lot to be honest, the synergies it has are excellent, and it does very well what all control decks need -- Multiple uses.

S.E. is a pretty good idea to at least try out. This isn't even my bias here...the simple fact is this: Innistrad is about death. "Death" in magic means lots of crap in the graveyard. This fact, coupled with how damn useful (and I guarantee overused in the coming month) Snapcaster is...S.E. is a promising slap in the face.

I'm a bit 'meh' on the choice of Inkmoths...While it completely sucks that Colonnade is gone, I'm unsure if Inky is really needed for this deck =/

The fact that both GQ and Dissipate are back means that control is going to hit hard...whether Wizards meant for it to or not....And better yet, they work nicely in here =]

The last thing is I'm a little on the fence about Visions of Beyond. Yeah, it has powerful potential (as in, P9 potential), but I wonder just how often it will provide what you want when you need it. It's bonus is a catch-22...If you can draw the 3, then you're probably winning...If you NEED to draw 3, then you probably can't, and are losing =/

All in all though, I like this a lot. Have you seen my "The Dude Abides" deck, speaking of being fed up =P

Preordain ~technically~ offers slightly more options over Ponder, because of Scry's versatility, but it's really an apple-orange type of thing...pick which one works better for you.

From my experience, Frosty does draw A LOT of hate, but for good reason...Unanswered he wins the game pretty much every time.

Frost Breath isn't such a bad replacement for Sleep honestly. Its instant speed is a nice thing to have, and often times Sleep is overkill since most things will already be tapped.

Losing Narc sucks, no question about that...but on the bright side Claustrophobia is a better Paralyzing Grasp, so that's nice =]

Feeling of Dread does seem promising, I'll have to see how it works out in playtesting.

And yeah, Marrow Shards is devastating to RDW designs. Those decks rely on "damage spikes", or single turns/actions where they deal SIGNIFICANT amounts of damage all at once...it's why they're so hard to stop if they get the upper hand. But if you play 2 life to cut down their 22 damage spike down to say...8 damage then their deck is usually rendered worthless. (Why do you think my Kuldotha Rust design has Mental Misstep in the SB?)

Now the question is, wtf do I take out for Parallel Lives?

Haha, I'd sometimes blurt out random numbers when someone would play High Tide...it'd piss people off so much XD

Totally going to add in Parallel Lives. That thing is going to do crazy things for Horde decks =]

Exactly, it's removal would be very beneficial to the format IMHO. Combo players would still have options, but they wouldn't have the (arguably) over-dominant options they have now. It should be restricted at the very least, as restricting it would probably give similar results...

Besides, it's been a long time since I've gotten to pick through a High Tide =P

If I were to run BluZoo, then I'd probably choose Hierarch, as it has more of that Exalted theme behind it (Essentially a mix of Zoo's burn with the classic Bant Conscription deck). That said, I think the Dark Zoo variant of the 4C Zoo designs is superior, so I went with Farseek (technically Harrow when I ran 5 basic, then FS when I dropped to 3) since it's versatility and boosting capabilities are more desirable for this version.

It should lol =]

And that's what I figured, but eh, was worth seeing it backed up with playtesting =/

LandSlaver?

Holy balls man, for once in a very long time...I've been bamboozled O_O

All I can really think of at least trying is Buried Ruin for a little extra cushion...otherwise, I got nothin'

What I don't get is why is MM more ban-worthy than FoW? The two do similar things...If they truly want to contain Storm, which they claim (I don't buy it), then why ban the card that has been greatly helping other players hold it back...yet let them keep one of their best defenses while storming away?

maybe it's me, but I think they should unban MM, and ban LED. LED is what primarily fuels multiple "problem decks" in Legacy =/

You make a good point dag. When I first made this it ran 5 basics, but now with 3 I should use something else...and Farseek actually sounds perfect =]

Thanks guys. It annoys me that the inspiration for this deck wasn't a positive inspiration at all...In fact I disliked making this deck =/

I designed it for a few of my friends to use in tourneys, something I haven't done in years because of the unwanted attention I got last time, because I want to show how unbalanced Modern has become. Quite honestly, I'd love to see this deck get banned down to the landbase...

Anyway, hopefully I'll enjoy building my next deck...which will either be another tribal (thinking insects or elementals) or the Oona EDH.

Well nobody "likes" Stax effects, they just learn to deal with it =P

Even so, the argument that Braids' banning was due to "taking the fun out of a casual-based format" is flawed. For one, there are much more fun-draining generals out there...Sen Triplets, Maralen, and Erayo to name the three Arty uses (the bastard -_-). Secondly, I'm pretty sure having sanctioned tourneys for a casual-based format takes away a lot more fun than a particular general =/

Sorry for the rant...a bit annoyed with WoTC right now...(even though Innistrad for the most part looks AMAZING). tl;dr...Make a Braids EDH anyway =]

The deck is themed around "Despair", so not only is Thief of Hope a powerful threat, but it goes very well with the theme.
