In short, there's no spot removal because he's traded their slots for other things that assure there's no "spot" to remove whatsoever...

<_<

You do realize it was technically your own fault this got to the front right? This deck was long dead...

Kaim does make a point to a small extent, he just went about it in a pretty dumb way. I can spot a lazy and/or "newbie" deck a mile away, and usually it IS NOT due to having a ton of 1-drops...Quite the opposite. I'm sure everyone here has seen a deck that has 10 different cards, all 4-ofs, and then 20 lands. To me, those can be just as "bad"...and they're often the result of people like Kaim telling people the must have multiples (other times it's just laziness =P). The fact of the matter is, there is no simple answer for how many of something go into a deck. Experience teaches you to know how much is too much or too little of something. HOWEVER, a common sight that often seems to coincide with decks full of 1-ofs is that the decks are HUGE! One of the very first bits of advice I give to new players is to get their decks as close to 60 as possible. So, to some degree, he is correct, if you only slightly benefit from a card and only have 1 of it in the deck...chances are you can do without it. On the other side though, if you only own 1 copy of a card that, while rarely drawn, is great for your deck...Or hell, just a lot of fun, then keep it in! Or don't! Entirely up to you =] Some of the best decks in the GAME have just one copy of their win condition...think about it....

In short, and this is verbatim what I tell other new players, **Shoot for 60 cards, how you get there is up to you**

That'll help you out immensely...but from a quick look, nothing in your deck is illegal. My buddy has a Grand Arbiter EDH too, and his is amazing, so I'll check his and see if there's anything I could suggest =]

If it works for you, then hey...I just think you'll end up playing keep-up, and by the time you establish a significant presence mid-late game...I fear it could be too late.

So I tried a proxy of this just to see how it felt. Holy balls Witch-Maw gets HUUUUUUUUUUGE so fast! It's almost to the point where the deck seems less a "spell kill" EDH, and more of a "Curb-Stomp" EDH where the general just beats the living HELL out of everyone. Plus, I've said it once, I'll say it again...Witch-Maw has one of the creepiest artworks of any card in the game.

I highly recommend using at LEAST Praetor's Grasp. It's now one of my favorite Extraction cards. However, I've found adding in Bloodghast and Undiscovered Paradise to the mix creates a whole new level of versatility to Grasp. It's one of those lovely multi-directional synergy scenarios that makes you smile =]

You mean one of the actual Elder Dragons? That might be a fun one. I'll add it to my list of considerations =]

You've really never seen a Sliver EDH? I don't mean to sound like a jerk, but honestly I see them all over the place...They're quite easy to make =P

/Rachet Bomb

"Problem?"

Just kidding. It looks nice overall. Was wondering why there's no Waif or Shepherd though...those two are great for early aggro

My favorite of the Nephilim as far as artwork is concerned...It's just its own level of creepiness...as if straight out of a bad dream. If I turned a corner and saw that thing, I have no shame in admitting I would shit my pants.

It's my second favorite as far as abilities go...My favorite being Dune Brood. This is pretty nice dude. I honestly don't really understand why the Nephilim aren't legendary =/

Even so, I know a TON of different places that allow them though. They are, after all, the only CARDS that are just four colors, and using a 5 color general really hinders you if you wanted to play a 4C. Either you don't use your general...or end up needlessly splashing =/

Long rant short, Nephilim are fine for EDH, and should be allowed as generals...even though most places already do this...I'd be cool if it were official =]

Oh, one thing though...I see a few other banned cards in this...such as Yawgmoth's Will =P

If your group lets you use Braids in your EDH, then they're pretty cool, but if they let you use Y.W. then they're just stupid XD

Oh nice! I'll go check it out =]

Our group, and I think many groups, allow the Nephilim to be used as generals for people who want to make 4C EDH's =]

I'm a little confused looking at the results you posted up...

From every other thing, it looks like you do above-average against aggro, specifically multi-threat aggro such as RDW and Vamps...yet oddly you say you had a lot of trouble with G/W tokens =/

Then I noticed you had trouble with Wolf Ramp...So my theory is thus -- Your deck does very well against aggro decks that balance threat numbers with threat power. If a deck does one more than the other though, you have trouble. Too many threats with Tokens, too powerful threats from Wolf Ramp...

I'm a bit confused as to the purpose of Adaptive Automaton...If it's used to boost your Zombies, I think that's bad idea actually. The synergy with Mentor of the Meek (especially for lessening the effects of Z.I.) is wonderful, and you don't want to lose that. To that end, I don't think that Reaper is worth using either. I would lose those 6 cards, and maybe drop down to 3 Z.I. You can then replace those 7 cards with things that could better allow you to round out this deck to take on more variations at FNM =]

It's good to see Ratchet Bomb added to the SB, as that will surely help with the Tokens and such, but the rest of the SB looks a little 'iffy' to me =/

Hope that helps =]

Oh yeah, and she's surprisingly effective for Multiplayer EDH too. After beating up one player with her ability (and hopefully with the aid of Rings of Brighthearth) I usually have a crap-ton of little flyers that can be quite a nightmare =P

I'm still unsure what to make as my #10. I have this really cool box that perfectly fits exactly 10 EDH decks...So I really want to make 10...Any ideas for the tenth?

Sorry it took so long for me to get to this one, but I do get to check you off my list now =]

It looks good, and does have a slight hybrid-Solar Flare look to it. I've never cared for the 3rd Jace (not just because I wish they'd move on to a new blue 'walker...) So maybe you could ditch the 2 of them. Traft is freakin amazing, so another one might not hurt.

I'm admittedly pretty out of the loop with Standard, so I apologize if I can't help as much as usual. It's just gotten so boring over the last few years and even though Innistrad is great...I keep making Legacy and Modern builds with the cards =P

Looks good. I personally don't like the Skelly...he's a bit too slow for my taste, even though he is more consistent in some regards than Bloodghast =/

If I were you I would rock out with Dark Confidant instead of the Arena if you can get your hands on them. They're much better for an aggro design. Swiftfoot Boots I'm unsure about...but I'll just have to get back to you with that.

I personally don't know if you need the Tutors...but that's entirely opinion.

Mortician Beetle is pretty damn great in my experience, so I'd give them another try. Another awesome 1-drop other than Typhoid Rats is Tormented Soul. Holy balls can that guy make a difference.

Hope that helps =]

I think this looks fantastic to be honest. Primeval Titan is great, not sure if a whole 4 is necessary...

I've never liked Acidic Slime, but I know some people swear by it. I just feel like there's something better you could use in place of it =/

Overall though, this looks really good, and it doesn't surprise me that much that it's been having success.
