Birds of paradise, life from the loam.I never do things without a reason ;)
You've done well grasshopper:)I even applaud the sideboard.
Stream of thought?
Could you see stream of thought replacing thought scour? You miss a draw but can rescue stuff from the graveyard.
Could you see stream of thought replace thought scour? You miss a draw, but get to rescue stuff from the graveyard.
Stream of thought. It could replace thought scour. You miss the draw but can save what you don't want to see in the grave.
Stream of thought, does it fit in here, replacing thought scour. It doesn't give you a draw, but you decide what gets reshuffled into your deck.Thought scour might eat a battle rage but stream of thought works around that.
Drop visions from beyond.Stream of thought provides you with the card advantage you want and mills at the same time.It can be cast early to mill 4, and later to mill 8.
What are you doing ?Stream of thought must be a 4 of card. You can play it early to mill 4, and the ones you draw later mills 8.It will be better with more fetchlands, but this card is insane. It allows you to mill the opponent, then reshuffle your own mill back into your library. It's the cardadvantage that visions of beyond never really managed to bring us.Think of how thought scour was adapted into decks with goyf, gurmag angler and dredge. This will be everywhere in short time.
Nice call on stream of thoughts.Do you think players who used to play thought scour will play this from now on?(Goyf, gurmag angler, dredge)
Nice call on stream of thought.Do you think the decktypes that used to play thought scour will play this?(Goyf, dredge, that black 5/5 fish)
Did you misspell mayhem on purpose?Mayham might be because the deer/moose is for dinner.
And creature mill, and combomill ;)I'm the wickedest speedmiller there is :)
Hello, hello.First of all, I'd like to say I like the way you structure your decks into types and variants.Secondly, I'm considered an authority on mill, but have been distracted a couple of years.Looking at your list tells me that you have at least some grasp of what you are doing, but have not turned it into a competitive deck so far. Here's my harsh criticism on going competitive.Jace, fraying sanity, psychic corrosion and traumatize slows the deck down. Sure traumatize/fraying is nice, but all of these belongs to mill with counterspells to protect them. The rest of the deck is considered to be more into the speed-mill categorySpeed mill has an overwhelmingly fast rate at milling, but can only set aside a few cards to deal with the decktypes that usually slaughter mill. (Aggro and decks based on using the graveyard)Traditionally mill has had no real defence against aggro except for ensnaring bridge, and the best way to stop the graveyard is leyline of the Void (which doesn't affect your own grave)Wotc has recently made several nice mill-creatures that gives the needed edge against aggro.Hedron crab is the oldest and is often seen with Augur of bolas.Minister of impediments, manic scribe, merfolk secretkeeper, overwhelmed apprentice and iceberg centric are the newest additions to this protection, and you should try some of them out to find your best defence.Your goal should always be to pick the cards that mill the most if you go with speedmill.Cards like minister of impediments and shriekhorn might not look threatening, but they each mill 6 cards if left alone. And a card wasted on one of your permanents is a card that won't target you.Tome scour is also a classic, but there are some cards most people overlook when considering millcards.Dream twist potentially mills 6 cards, and mostly fits into a deck where you self mill, but having 1 or 2 in the deck gives you some extra fuel when you run out of steam.Speaking of steam, you should really consider getting your hands on stream of thought, it can enable you to play more dream twists and it will reshuffle vital cards into your deck. You only have 4 fetchlands, and the optimal number is 9. By playing more fetchlands you will have an increased chance of drawing what stream of thought puts back into your deck. (Mostly I'd pick mind funeral glimpse, and then the third fastest mill) stream of thought can also be double cast when you have 4 mana, which is a mill of 8 cards and a lot of spells reentering your deck to be drawn.I await your adjustments ;)
Do you know of any ?
I've made an anti companion page.Any additions in hate cards you can think of?I've covered phyrexian metamorph, pithing needle, nevermore, meddling mage and similar.
It's a wizard deck now ;)
Far // away has a castingcost of 5Dead // gone has a castingcost of 4Breaking // entering has a castingcost of 8
Have you ever made a splitcard deck? When splitcards are in any zone except for being cast, their cost counts as both halves, which means most of them have very high castingcost. Then there are cards like sin prodder and mindshrieker which can exploit this (theres even a burn spell and a storm spell exploiting this)How about such a deck being your next project :) ?
