28 creature deck but whose counting.... That still doesn't excuse anything except the mystics though, and you could make a case Batterskull is a creature...

i began with 3 Jitte, but I decided to cut one when I added Smallpox. It is a powerful card, and your dead right about it being very powerful to use for lifegain, but I have found in general 2 is sufficient. I have been considering adding a third to the sb to bring in vs aggro decks however.

You will draw the same number of lands... does the point or two of life matter more than the mana flexibility? I guess with Bob and Bitter it might. Oh, and play more than 1 Jitte!

Avenger is a freakin beast indeed. It has been errata'd to say "cast", so its a legit turn 3 play off of an Aether Vial. And when I have a half-dozen dudes that don't let you use fetchlands, "mid game" takes a while to get to. My favorite dick move with this deck is if you have 2 Vials, in response to a fetch vial in Arbiter, then in response vial in SFM. SFM resolves first, giving you the equipment, then Arbiter, and then the fetch... which they can't do, even though they have already sac'd and payed a life.

Although it actually might be Flickerwisp and Mangara... I'll let you figure that synergy out ;)

Yes. Split Second is amazing. Way worth it over SE, especially in a format with Misstep.

Likely because those cards are all bad. You have all the mana you need really, and getting a Seething Song countered makes you look stupid. Why run spells that are not burn?
