Ooze is pretty cool. Dunno if he's worth keeping md though...

You choose one and pay for that one. So Fire costs 1R and Ice costs 1U. You don't get both if you pay UR though... It's a great utility card though.

Definitely play Joraga Treespeaker over Sylvan Ranger. Have you considered the new artifact that becomes a lord for any type? he might be good here. Eldrazi Monument used to be huge in this deck, have u tried it?

with Food Chain I can get mana of any color, so I simply choose to gain black when exiling the Empath :) It is a beaut', I just wish I could find a way to make it work so that it doesn't have a 1k+ price tag (aka, replace Imperial Recruiter)

Yea... In my BW build I basically replace Grim with Bitter :)

What if you move Gatekeeper to the SB? The kinds of decks where you would want him are the kinds of decks where you dont want Grim usually, so if you put 2 Gatekeeper and 2 Tidehollow on the sb that would seem like a good plan. With so many artifacts I wonder if a few ETs might be nice, especially since it opens Bridge, or Canonist, etc as singleton sb

Pretty interesting list, and basically the one varient of StoneBlade I didn't post :) I would like to see a sb for this deck... lots of awesome choices. Why the SoBaM instead of FaI, FaF, or WaP? I wonder if 4 Vindicate is necessary, maybe drop one and Cabal for Bitter? I love that card in BW

Trade Shifting Wall and Islands for Gitaxian Probe and Serum Powder make it surprisingly consistent actually... and even if you dont, you will often win T1. Compaired to other "miracle hands", this one is surprisingly likely too

Most Valakut decks I see run Overgrown Battlement or Lotus Cobra and GSZ, though you do have a point. There's enough low-creature decks in standard that its probably not worthwhile maindeck.

I wonder if it would be a good idea to change 4 mountains into Coperline Gorges. That would let you run Nature's Claim or Naturalize on the sb...

Hmmm... that's pretty wicked. Its a shame that none of the creature are green...

The biggest issue I see with the combo, is if you use Treasure Hunt and don't go off that turn, you will discard a lot of lands :/

I think if you went UB it would be more consistent... trade Cosi's Ravager for Scrib Nibblers... that would let you play Dark Tutelage for more card draw, and possibly a tutor... Or make it an Ooze combo deck?

PS: I'm becoming an article writer, writing about deck building... I'm thinking "From the Depths: The cards you love, the decks you hate (to see on the other side of the table)" Thoughts?

pretty cool deck. I would drop everyone at 5 or 6 cmc though couz hitting it off Tutelage really hurts. You could add Feast of Blood to take the place of some of them.

LED helps ramp since it pays for grindstone activation and the other combo is GY based anyways.

Yes, but since a burn deck does not require many lands, you can often afford to leave a fetchland uncracked. That way, you can cast it during your opponents turn for the 3 damage still.

Like the changes. With 8 fetchlands you should seriously concider Searing Blaze md.

If you can afford it, I would run 6-8 fetchlands to help fuel Grim Lavamancer. If you do this, than running Searing Blaze maindeck becomes an option. I would also drop the Pheonix... that card was basically designed to make Chandra playable. Since you don't have Chandra, you prolly shouldn't play it. Goblin Guide or Ember Hauler are better choices.

On the SB I would run Ratchet Bomb, or some other way to kill Leyline of Sanctity

It might be a good idea to make your swamps into plains....

I would likely drop Cancel and Vapor Snag for Ponder and Condemn. Condemn is great creature removal for only W, and Ponder can help you get what you need faster

Hmmm... I think the format sounds really awesome, but is waaaay to easy to break... My RUG list as WnB said, and I got a few more too. Also, I suppose Cats is banned since Legacy Zoo has 10 cats in it?

Let me break some tribes for you though...
Spirit Tribal: Cascade of Hypergenesus with 2 The Unspeakable for 1 Emmy and 1 Progen.
Spirit Tribal: RG Belcher with 2 Shields of Velis Vel for 2 something
Human Tribal: Any legacy version of Soul Sisters
Elemental Tribal: Any burn deck with Kiln Fiend, Chandra's Spitfire, and Cinder Pyromancer
Lhurgoyf Tribal: Tarmogoyf and Terravore. Have fun.
Artificer Tribal: Stoneforge Mystic and Grand Architect. Have fun.
Vintage Oath decks can be made tribal...

Hmmm. Flusterstorm was a derp on my part. Visions is currently being tested... it might turn into Ponder.

Sure I'll check it out :)
