Final bid: $155. There's another auction, current bid $183, with 23 hours to go. I could go buy a box for half that much, and likely open 3x non-foil Mental Misteps, and have PLENTY enough trading power to get a fourth.

Luckily Surgical Extraction is floating around $10. On par with Extirpate, though I expect it to rise a bit after the launch party. The ability to cast it without paying any mana is almost too good. I'm loving these Phyrexian mana symbols :)

Also, that post made me think to start designing a sideboard to better handle multiplayer games. Some cards (like Soul Conduit and Knowledge Pool) are just for shenanigans. Also just replaced Disperse with Boomerang so I can bounce lands as well.

It's not that this was made for multiplayer, it's that I play a lot of multiplayer.. so the iso-toolbox design works well in that regard. Our multiplayer meta involves a lot of politicking. Provided I'm able to tutor, first card I'll grab is Propaganda (which I might add a second), as that completely kills players' battlefield advantage if they attack me, while other players can continue to build up. That should give me enough time to put a few more bargaining chips on the battlefield, but then victory itself will be a trickier matter, switching to the offense at the right time is vital. At the very least, if somebody goes all out against I should be able to cripple their libraries before they finish me off. And then I can still enjoy watching them suffer through the rest of the game :)

Might not be the best theme for multiplayer, but I still think it will be fun as hell to play ^-^

Dude... you want to see something completely retarded? Mental Misstep is a $4 - $5 uncommon (for now). Before you click the link, guess how much this guy paid for a play set of foils.

Also, you should run Goblin Tunneler (and maybe Kiln Fiend?) for a third or fourth turn win con in case you don't open with a Chancellor of the Tangle. This could be a viable casual deck with a few tweaks, and a first turn win in T1 with Mox Diamond or Lotus Petal.

Nice. Don't really like having Chancellor of the Tangle in there without being able to play it though. Might as well run Chancellor of the Annex as well, that way you can counter your opponent's first spell as well :P

My main concern is that I think I might spend too much time setting up, and not enough time asserting control early game.

Okay, here is V2.0 in U/B. It's still toolbox-y but I rather like that since I mostly play multi-player, and I think it'll work better given the iso-tutoring available. Please check it out and let me know what you think, and feel free to suggest card changes.

I'd rather strength in numbers and just play Wrap in Vigor followed by a board wipe (Chain Reaction?)

I'm actually going to scrap this deck. I'm trying to do too much at once with it, and the only reason I'm running W/B is for Castigate as a replacement for Thoughtseize. I'm going to try a traditional bruise control, but with budgeted replacements (I really wish I could afford Mox Diamonds with my Crucible's >.>). I'll send you a link when it is finished, please let me know if it's a step forward or backwards :) This is really a new world of control for me.. I typically try more off the wall combo-synergies.. and am really enjoying the learning experience with Extraction :)

Awesome ^-^ Glad to hear I'm not way off. I figure its one of those things I can play with now and allow it to evolve over time.. something I don't typically do very often.

Holy hell. I just read Temporal Extortion.. I'm going to have to get one of those for my Panoptic Mirror now XD Good bye expensive Time Stretch..

Also, I've never encountered Extraction, and love the idea. I just finished my first attempt at a budgeted extraction / iso lockdown. Would you take a look and let me know if I'm on the right track?

Reasons why Sensai's Divining Top is worth so damn much: Any fetch land (as mentioned), Long Term Plans, Magus of the Future. I'm sure there's more, but I've used these to near broken effect in a few games.

You should really consider running Ashnod's Coupon, just for the lawls :P

Kemba wants a Darksteel Plate and Whispersilk Cloak.. :) Ajani's Pridemate especially wants Whispersilk Cloak, and also Basilisk Collar and his old drinking pal, Soul's Attendant.

If you can get a hold of them, this really would work a lot better with Stoneforge Mystic.

I run two Feast and Famines in my deck. My meta main-boards plenty of Revoke Existence, O-Ring, and other forms of removal. (Note: I know O-Ring is extended, I play mostly vintage casual with T2 decks)

Awesome ^_^ I'm glad I could be of help :D

Stuffy Doll is one of those cards on my list to buy a full set of... has been for a while now. Lol. Keep going after other things to finish off decks I already have, though, rather than to make new ones.

My idea is more of a general theme using WRG that incorporates Stuffy Doll rather than focusing on it. It uses Spitemare, War's Toll, Rage Nimbus, en-Kor creatures, Druid's Call, and the main theme of the deck is Rite of Passage, and of course, Stuffy Doll. Can play as a redirect / burn deck, or it can play as a token engine / creature pump with Rite of Passage and redirect effects. ... One day.. One day, I'll build it! haha.

I'd run a few more board wipes just for good measure. You're running Slagstorm, which is good and all, but I think Chain Reaction could have more explosive results as well as wiping the board.

As for Pariah, I'd run 2 and 2 Pariah's Shield, just in case you're facing invulnerable removal and to split your "eggs" between artifact and enchantment removal (as opposed to all in one basket). Likewise, Grand Melee, Total War, or War's Toll works great with Pariah('s Shield).

On a similar note, I'm also a big fan of the en-Kor. They are one of my favorite runs of creatures, and would make a Chain Reaction or Slagstorm an instant win.

All in all good looking deck! It's a bit different than I'd run it, but then that's why it's your take on Stuffy :P That's the beauty of Stuffy, so many damn ways to run it!!

I contemplated running Dolmen Gate, but ultimately decided against it. If every player must attack each turn if able, then there won't be much sense protecting my attackers from combat damage when there won't be many defenders.

It might still find a place though, if I don't have an enchantment out that forces attackers, or the enchantment is destroyed, Dolmen Gate will put the pressure on the opponent making it more difficult to declare blockers knowing that I won't lose any battlefield advantage and they will.

I'll take a look and find something to replace it with. I like redundant back up plans :)

Counterbalance is a cheap (casting) recursive counter spell. That is the appeal, mostly. It can work in any deck as a "sure, why not? maybe it'll trigger, and if it does, great!" sort of dealio. To really make use of it though, you need a heavy cmc slot in your curve, such as surewhynot's cmc 2 slow, and to an extent 1 and 3. It works similarly to other cards that imprint or use counters to counter spells of equal casting cost, except counterbalance is more circumstantial and doesn't affect you. But as in the case with this deck, you can reliably assume it'll counter a few cmc 1-3 spells.

It is also really abusable with scry effects, especially after a player casts the first spell of a turn (since they know the cmc of your top card).
