I dunno, doesn't Rakdos seem more like Mustakrakish than the IRS? While they're pretty brutals, Mustakrakish just seems more to fit the flavor. I Ejaculate Fire from the new album also fits the flavor of a demon.

This might be one of the most hellishly brutal EDH decks I've seen man, it definitely trumps my experiments with the beast that is Rakdos(not very shocking, but hey). Metal on man \m/

I'd just been trying to tidy some other affairs before getting back to dealing with MtG, and I'm glad to say that most of them have been dealt with. I'm trying to avoid another lapse in one of my favourite hobbies, but voting, and the release of Halo 4 offered a temporary setback :(

If it can't be countered it's always dangerous in Legacy. I felt that mentioning that would be beating a dead zoo deck, I mean horse. Sorry to any zoo players :P

I've been shutting out some Counter|Top designs thanks to Abrupt Decay, it's quite the troll card. I've been trying to find ways to slip it into everything, it's quite simply that amazing.
Changing tempo is one of the most powerful plays in Legacy to me, the sudden forced staccato of my opponents tempo is the method my MBC decks take, and just by keeping things a few bars ahead you can out do almost anything. The crescendo of a tempo deck is always fascinating.

Interesting build, and certainly effective. I'd forgotten about Diabolic Edict, that card is about to make my Omni-Show MU's about a million times more amusing :D

I really like the idea of using Vision Charm, it kills islandwalk from Fish at the worst case, functions as five cards for Tombstalker in a pinch, and keeps Dreadnought from being hit with Abrupt Decay when needed. It's a very effective tech card, but I wonder about if your opponents will try and force you to use it, by saving Abrupt Decay until the turn you aimed to swing.

"damnit, I hate jund so much." A quote that resonates with almost every mtg player.

I'd probably take Fish with Shadow of Doubt in the SB if I was going to go to a GP event any time soon, but this would be amongst my worst nightmare MU's. Something else I'm considering is an Isochron Scepter build, but without some of the things I've come to rely on it'd be difficult.

And now I'm definitely intrigued by what your SB will wind up looking like.

Horizon Canopy is one of those cards that I probably should be playing, but usually wind up going against it. Previously with Bojuka Bog taking the slot in the main, but right now I'm seeing so much Showand Tell, and Reanimator decks that I'm packing two copies of Karakas. Chains of Mephistopheles is one of the more techy answers I've ever used, but against Omniscience, Storm, and Reanimator it's as bad as Abrupt Decay is for everybody else @_@

Dread|Stalker is a great tempo deck, and Vision Charm is an interesting way of dealing with Abrupt Decay, especially since phasing doesn't trigger ETB effects. I think I'd just go with an instant speed hexproof, like Mizzium Skin though.

Abrupt Decay and I have already begun a sort of love/hate relationship for those reasons. It ruins tempo, which is great, but the problem is that it ruins the tempo decks I play too.

I completely forgot about Scavenging Ooze, I'm still trying to break off a bit of rust. I'm glad you like the deck AlleywayJack, Dirt is a wedge I think should definitely be played more :)

Because most would rather pay two mana for Bob, goyf, or Hymn to Tourach. I find myself wanting to play ALL of them :D

Huzzah!

It's not as versatile as Vindicate, but I can't say I'm dissatisfied with Abrupt Decay. With Thoughtseize on turn one, it on turn two, and Deed on three(has actually happened a few oddball games) I can't help but laugh at swarm decks XD

Bojuka Bog was handy once upon a time, but nowadays I'm inclined to agree.

The only thing I can think of that'd strengthen this in UG would be something like this.

-1 Crystal Vein, and switch another to a third Ancient Tomb
-1 Progenitus, a great finisher, but in NO Show I'd test around with more counters. But if having six finishers is needed for consistency, this suggestion becomes moot.
-1 Spell Pierce
+4 Daze, nothing quite like a "free" counter. I can't tell you how many games this card has won my UGx NO decks, and even more for my other decks.

This is a very interesting build, and I personally think it has a good bit of potential, but because it reminds me more of Dream Halls|Conflux I'd probably go with an Omni-Show style of build if I make another S&T deck.

Eeesh, 2-3 days late... I'm slacking off :/

@AlleywayJack; I'll definitely be checking out your deck, and sorry I didn't reply sooner >_<

@MrBig262; I've been meaning to delete this since I got back on this site, along with a few other Mental Misstep decks, but this deck is something I've bust out on occasion to remind people who bash it why it was banned.

@Dag; Yes, Dredge. Dredge should be discussed a lot more. Good to see you're still here Dag!

@Ethan; Lotus Cobra is one of those things that I have to admit the standard kids caught onto a lot faster than most Legacy players did. For a while I tried it in a janky BG control deck, based off of the old Dirt control decks, and it did such insane things for it. I think the only reason I stopped working on it and Jericho was the ban on Mental Misstep :/
I'd have to say that my favourite card ever printed is a tie between Doomsday, Pox, and after my stint in Vintage Hermit Druid has earned a spot.

Sorry for late replies, I'm still going through tournament results this week... Between that, guitar, and helping a friend move I've been seeing the comments, but not having the energy to reply.

If "goyf had been black, I think 10x is a little low. I think almost every card I'd play in such a world would be of the Esper colors. So it's kind of a good thing they didn't make it black.

It definitely manages man, I've tested a friends Jund list against it, and my Wargate Valakut against it, and while the results hadn't been as brutal as I'd expected, it was still hectic.

If you haven't figured out a SB, the first thing I'd suggest is being able to go up to at least four disruption spells post board. And because I'm paranoid, I'd also put in some Pithing Needles, but that's probably more of a meta choice. It's always nice to shut down Pod, the remnants of Kiki-Jiki decks, ect.

Oh man, I can't quit laughing about this deck! It's brutals, and it has one of my favourite TFS jokes XD

Oh, it is boring, but it's pretty much the most logical choice in my book(probably adding to the boring aspect with that, but oh well).

I'm going to be trying Valakut in Modern actually, probably in a Wargate style like I ran for Extended, but this time around I have better counters :D Going against Shadow of Doubt is a big deterrent though, but the deck is a good mix of autopilot, and actual play.
Jund is something I hate. I can't stress how much I hate having to play red and green, if I could have a black 'goyf, or a decent blue pinger, I'd never play them >_<

Hey, there's nothing wrong with Esper man, it's my three favourite colors all in the same spot. You've got the best removal, disruption, and counters! This looks pretty slick man, and Shadow of Doubt is quite possibly the most rage inducing way to deal with Valakut, I've been on the receiving end of that stick all to often since the ban lift...

I've been having a bit of a week, hanging out with friends before college picks back up, so I ask that you forgive my tardiness.

I hear you about always wanting to play your SB, but Death Wish is a risky way to go about that.
How has it been going since you've tweaked it? It seems a good bit more focused now, but still a little loose.

Mishra's Factory is an amazing card, but it's risky in shard or wedge decks. How is that treating you in particular? And THANK YOU SO MUCH Mashitta! I had completely forgotten about Gods' eye! That's wunderbar fur my stax!

I'll check those out in a little bit, I'm trying to catch up on a few things. I'm always happy to try and help you, you're quite the builder already, and I expect that before long your designs will overtake mine. I'm rather looking forward to seeing that :)

I'd probably try and do this deck similar to Brian from the looks, but it's like Sure said, everybody builds EDH their own way it seems.

And link me to it, or start asking questions if you want any help on Dredge from me :) Dredge is one of my favourite decks I use, but I warn you, while playing game one with it is simple, game two is something each player has to learn by playing.

Yeah, blue is a douche, but that's why I love it lol.
Thanks man, I've put more time working out this deck than I have any in a good while, so I'm glad you like it. And Bribery is fun and all, but it's like I said above, I already have more efficient answers right now. I'd not mind seeing a deck that made me play it again though, Bribery is one of the most hilarious cards printed.

Also, can't wait for you guys to get the store up and running, I want to buy the album dang it >_<

Truth be told I've not even been using them that often, I swarm fast enough to deal with most things, and I have Snags for what I can't. A white splash wouldn't be that bad, it'd let me go down to three pieces of removal, and add a Crypt for added hate.

I'll have to test around. Probably starting with a 7 island style landbase, then going to 5 with Seachhrome as the dual. I've been busty lately, and when I have had free time I've been playing some simplistic game called Vanguard, and it's actually pretty fun.

Thanks for the advice Ethan, I've been wanting a reason to tinker around!
