A retired president, but Bill Gates seems much more likely.

At some point I forgot we had been discussing the wishboard, and was more thinking Maverick or Dark Horizons >_<

I like the changes you plan, should be very interesting to hear how this deck fares.

Thirty-six is indeed an unusually high number for even vintage, but after poking around with Gifts in Jace control and in twelve post, I have to say I'm loving the idea behind it.

I have always believed that Dragon's Breath is a card that NEEDS to be run in Oath, for the brief time I tinkered around in the deck, it was the thing that gave me a winning edge. I believe it to be one of the brightest moves in building the deck to include two, and seeing that you seem to be thinking in the same lines reassures me that you will entertain me endlessly with the Vintage decks you post.

As for the counter suite, I've personally been dwelling on a list such as this for Oath.
4 FoW
2 Mindbreak
3 Daze
I realize a list without even a singleton Mana Drain might seem a bit odd, but this list is close to the one I'm using in yet another Doomsday deck I've been working on, and so far I've had much more impressive results. Yes, I trade the stability against stax, but such is the way it must be when dealing with such designs.

And I've been wearing away at my friends false stereotypes of Vintage, and hopefully can get them to proxy test the format next time I do some kitchen magic. I've broken them slowly into legacy, and they accept the ideas of the format, but still have a distaste for it competitively.

I almost always enjoy your decks Joe, in fact I'd wager that I do, and seeing you build something so wonderful for Vintage makes me even happier than when you revitalized Affinty.

What I really hate to say is that there's a format with more diversity right now, and it's Vintage >_< I love both of my eternal formats, but the fact that the more expensive is the more varied right now kind of bothers me.

And Hive with Gush wouldn't probably be that great still sadly, but it would be a start. More than anything I think it'd be an interesting arms race to see who can perfect Gush in Legacy, and I think a lot of players would enjoy it a lot more than the arms race Misstep started.
I will however note that it will make fish even more obnoxious than before :|

I'd be very happy about having amusing combo as the top contender for the slot again, but it really didn't shine for me, what with it being a polished poo and such.

I like control, but a meta with just control and aggro at the level of stability that Legacy has rooted itself in simply will not be healthy. I'll give you Modern as an example

Once more I concur, but this would create a vacuum within the combo pillar, and the best filling we would have would be Dream Halls or Hive Mind really. There are a lot of combo decks out there, but the ones that consistently race at the speed needed to be competitive in legacy all involve LED right now.

However, my desire for the lift on Gush would be for not if they banned LED, as it Doomsday Gush is not nearly as powerful without it or Fastbond. Ah well, I could always go to janky GAT.

I just really don't like Teeg without GSZ, as they can ramp and search under him, while they can only dig under a Canonist. Granted it hinders your ability to pump out threats, but it slows them down significantly more.

In a deck with a finisher that can down like this I'd say the trade-off significantly weighs to the favor of Canonist, as you really don't need to cast a whole lot of spells after a decent sized creature :D

Wow, that pretty much sums it up.

I really do enjoy Doomsday, it's enjoyable to build, and enjoyable in that I never use quite the same piles. Once more I say that I'd love to see the ban on Gush lifted, as even with Gush it would not be broken. In fact, I'd wager that GAT would be the worst thing to come out of it, but with Fastbond banned I don't really see that being overpowered.

I myself struggled with a way to put the philosophy of Storm into writing without resorting to several distasteful, albeit well placed, comparisons to mental rerangements. I applaud you Sure, and if you don't mind, I would very much like to use that as a quote.

I hear a lot of people complain about Oath decks, I really don't see why. It's incredibly fun, and has a real presence in the tourney scene that I enjoy.

This is a very nice deck Joe, and it makes me a bit sad that I'll probably never get to go against it.

I know how you feel, every time I've made something nice for the format they turned around and banned it because somebody else decided it could somehow be used for some degenerate combo that WotC concocted :/ My two favourite decks had been my four colour control, and a SlaverPost deck, but they decided to thoroughly ban all the parts that made them more stable than Zoo.

And I'm glad you liked that deck, it might be a side-project, but I've been enjoying it more than a lot of my other vintage decks.

Teeg, a royal pain in the ass of all who dare venture into the realms of storm, but he's never really been as problematic as Ethersworn Canonist. At least not for me anyway.

All of the artifact lands other than Darksteel Citadel are banned in Modern right now :/ They really hate affinity and dredge.

Well I'd probably drop the Quarter for a third Wasteland, I mean I know it's great and all, but I've actually been thinking about dropping in it lands even. I realize you have a third from Living Wish, but having three in the deck in really helps in Dirt.

Other than that it's spot freaking on man, it's superb! That's even just a meta call!

I mean, yes there is always room for improvement, but to improve one line of play would require massive changes at this point.

Wow dude, this is really good. I really like the idea of playing HexDepths in Dirt, and Living Wish makes it all the more accessible.

Kudos for making HexDepths have potential again man

Right now I've actually forgone Grudges, Claims, or Grips. I'm running a bit more like this
4 REB
3 Lavamancer
2 Firespout
2 Spell Pierce
1 Dismember
3 Surgical Extraction

Generally this has worked amazingly for me, but I'm screwed if Enchantress starts being common again.

For tempo I've already made a NLT and Delver Tempo for my personal tastes using the available pool, but I'm hoping for some more fun to come out of the next set in the block. If you want to check either of them out, they're both named with hockey jokes :D

Oh how I love Tempo Tresh, and this is a very vert well done design. I ran three copies of Fire/ice for a while, but right now I'm going with a fourth Spell Snare instead, and I've not really been disappointed by the trade-off.

A suggested pieces of tech for the SB(other than the usual mix of blasts, and hate) is Dismember, having access to a fifth piece of removal with Snapcaster in the mix is insane.

After watching the regular show finally, I want an alternate art of Doomsday with Party Pete(totally not Gunther). It wasn't until somebody Jeff Bennett was in it that I tried it, because God knows I'm a sucker for him and Rob Paulsen.

And as for it being the epitome of black, I'd have to agree. The only card that can come close to it is probably Pox. Just for the fact that it, likened unto the proverbial honey badger, doesn't give a @#$%.

that's very true, and you've spawned a breed of players who made my life as a reanimator interesting. Your decks always seem to make amusing players pop up Joe, I rather enjoy that about them
