I don't think you understand something here, this is a straight aggro deck, and here, three mana is the late game usually. You can usually race your opponent by sheer numbers if necessary even, but you should never need to top a threat by overshadowing it.

This is a great thought, and I'd love to see it hit front page.

I've quite frankly all but given up on posting on anything that remotely appears like a first deck, I enjoy helping somebody mature as a magic player, and to help develop a deck, but this has got to be the piece of advice I've given most often.

Each move would probably be good, I'd say take whichever makes the most sense for your meta man. I'm all for readying decks for tournaments, but when each move is equally appropriate for it, I just pick the local meta option myself.

Hadn't even noticed them lol

After a couple of test hands it seems this would probably benefit from some form of draw, it seems a bit inconsistent. Perhaps some Phyrexian Arena's would go well here? And you've only got three rise from the grave's as reanimation spells other than your creatures, I know it's not a normal reanimator, but it's always helpful to have something like exhume, reanimate, or even animate dead. Relying solely on creature effects to reanimate is neat, but it's very vulnerable to removal, and a bit inconsistent.

Mimic vat is agreeably a bit iffy for this kind of build, I'd probably move your wallet sculptor, and one of the normal jaces out of the board to replace them. It'd increase your chances against other U/B decks, and allow you to stabilize a bit faster against non-blue decks.

That's my two cents anyway

First off, is this for competitive, or casual? And if competitive; vintage, or legacy?

I just want to thank you for posting this, this deck was the main thing that got me into black, and it's probably my favourite colour now.

Also, I used this and one other as a starting point for my first Legacy MBC, which the newer version of has to be one of my most amusing and unique decks. I salute you drumhead21, you've created a monster :P

Yeah, standard people seem pretty clingy to that land... I personally like the contested warzone better, it entertains me to no end.

Also, Ichorclaw is a good infect creature, he'll probably serve you pretty well. Again, I don't really do infect, but him and necropede are pretty neat.

I always misread his typing as 'douchebag', maybe that's just me...

Only running two discard spells? Madness! I agree with Joe on the shade, I'd go with two Magnets, and two Inquisition of Kozilek's probably.

I also agree with him about the Wurm, I'd probably keep a titan though. It's nice to have versatility in your finishers.

Overall good deck as per usual Ethan, I'm especially liking the two-of Hexmage main decked.

Again, not my forte. I really only run red in my storm(and painter), and that's pretty much for Burning Wish and Shattering Spree.

I can't even be as little help as I was for your infect, I'm a bit useless to red players. Maybe realm razer?

This is actually about as good as mono-green infect can get in standard, mostly all you can really do is get more Inkmoths.

Also, fetchlands in mono coloured decks don't really do as much as a lot of people think, unless you run things like brainstorm/sensei's divining top.

I'd also try and work out maybe two tangle anglers for something cheaper, like cyst bearer.

Well that's neat, and it'd make channel-esque effects dangerous as crap.

Hahaaa, I just saw the fish comments!

And what combo decks are you looking to beat? All the good ones play in completely different playstyles... Granted, Mindbreak does hit a good bit of them, but it's sadly not a cure-all.

Because green is the magical equivalent of steroids? I've never liked UBW Fae, only reason to splash I can think of is stoneforge; making it fae-go. And that's probably not even as good as faygo!

UBG sounds interesting though, I'm going to have to look into the colour green it seems to find out what you're talking about...

This made me laugh like the foreign guy from work on family guy; ' Oh hooooo, is funny because it uses constructs! '

It's an interesting tribe, but whenever I see metalworker I think of stuffy doll decks.

Deglamer and Mirran Crusader are the bane of my existence right now(guess whose been working on extended faeries?)...

I always felt like stoneforge should be a three of, and I dunno if it'd work, but a singleton Fauna Shaman could make a nice piece of surprise tech.

Spot on as always man, I'm interested to know how this is going against Fae though. I've never really liked having to play the aggro portion of bant against them, so I did my little valakut deck, and even it's shaky when dealing with them...

One thing I'm not to sure about though, four stoneforge? I bring up Fauna Shaman/Buried Alive argument.

Agreed, I'll consider B/w over anything other than B/r for vamps. The people who wanted B/g had been trying to reverse engineer Eva, without the good cards that make the green splash worth it.

And not really, I've made a few legacy bant decks here and there, but far and wide I use guilds over shards. Mythic however sounds interesting in legacy, and you're a great builder, so I'm interested to see how this turns out.
