It is & it's better at it, since it gives a card-disadventage to the opponent as well... ...with my Esper control deck, when I had 2+ A-Charms within the 1st 3-4 turns, I massively slowed down aggro decks, like Mono-Blue & Mono-Red Devotion...

The thing is, A-Charm may also trigger Horizon Chimera & that's a good option when Archangel is out of context...

I know as much, but both the temporal-removal + the life-gain won't happen, only 1 or another, even tough Charm offers many triggers at the same time for Archangel... ...I'm still considering it, so I have to run a few playtests...

Elspeth doesn't fit in, tough I've considered her... ...I can't imagine how could I forget Selesnya Charm for the sideboards & instead putting in Bramblecrush... ...I'm gonna put 2 in instead of Bramblecrush & the extra Unflinching Courage.......

Azorius Charm might be better than Dramatic Rescue, even in this deck, but I wonder if in most situations, a temporary removal along with an Archangel trigger could be better... ...we'll see...

Thanks!

You are definiately wrong... ...some cards are partially substitute each other, like Ultimate Price/Doom Blade; Hero's Downfall/Putrefy; Putrefy/Gild... ...the chanses are not that small to draw them in a long-ass game either... ...I know that I don't have much drawpower here that would make my 1 of cards more relavent, but it still works this way.......

...tough may be a couple more creatures could be useful...

I've considered Charm instead of Rescue, but Rescue works as both a tomporary removal & an Angel trigger at the same time...

Many I saw trying this combo... ...it's really fun, but true that it's not too competative... ...for example: mono-Red would kill you within the first 6 turns probably... :)

I've playtested my old Bant Chimera deck & it didn't quite cut it... ...the combo was too slow & the cards relied on each other too much... ...usually, as I cast Phantom Mage, it got destroyed, shot, or spheared... ...this combo consists of 2 cards with cmc-4 & a 5 cmc card.......

It's really fun, but won't work out well, so I rather play less Chimera in this one & Kiora instead of Phantom Mage... ...it's just a try tough, I won't take this deck anywhere I guess...

My experience is that the combo usually won't happen, especially against a deck with a strong set of removal... ...it's just not worthit to build on comboes in standard today, because it doesn't work too well most of the time.......

I'd change this deck from top to bottom... ...not worth to add white only for what you have here... ...I'd make suggestions, but truth is, I won't make a simple burn deck Boros...

Either make it mono-Red, or put Chained to the Rocks in the main deck along with some Warleader's Helix... ...& you should have at least 11 sources of white mana as well(add 2 Guildgates & 1 plains, or 3 gates)....

For the sideboard: 2 Burning Earth & you should put Confligration in the sideboard & only 1-2 copies of it, because it's not as good as it looks... ...Confligration can't deal damage to your opponent, so it won't trigger the Satyr, not to say that any burn that deals damage to a player can assign that damage to a planeswalker... ...you'd be better off with Warleader's Helix & the Boros Charm you have there is awesome as well.......

I wouldn't use Purphoros in this one... ...sure you keep it for it's Trigger & it can be good with so many tokens & Phoneix's(+1/+0) & he can become a creature, but hardly... ...I'd drop him for Stormbreath in the main deck if not Flame-Wreathed Phoneix wich I highly recommand.......

Searing Blood is fine when you have other burn spells along with it in your hand, but when alone - & you don't have any drawpower in this deck - it won't do anything in most situations... ...it works when you draw in the right order, but in a tight game, when you draw in the late game & it's eaither a land, or Searing Blood & the opponent has bigger creatures, than you're done... ...I'd run lesser in the main deck & the rest in the sideboard for aggro decks.......

These are my thoughts for now... ...if you'd consider making this deck more Boros(ish), you could might grab some inspiration here: http://www.mtgvault.com/poetmasterx/decks/sparkphoneix/

I did & it's nice, but without Nylea/Trample, it's usually useless & can easily be delt with... ...some cards are fine, but in a highly competative envirement, it just won't cut it...

Thanks!

The hands you draw on this site are not really realistic... ...to measure a deck's stability, you need real playtesting, or a particular insight wich I can see that you have...

I've never had the problem of drawing too many planeswalkers, tough there were games where I drew 6-7 total, but I could use 5-7 of them to the fullest... ...Domri easily dies at times & when you put out a Garruk, the opponent usually takes it out with Downfall, Dreadbore, etc. ... ...Mihara had 4 of each in his pro-tour deck & his wasn't bad either....... :)

Savageborn Hydra is nice, but not after my side of the board has just been cleared, so it's poor in many situations... ...besides, I don't always have the time to hold a card off until I get enough mana, tough in this deck, I usually can generate 12+ mana on turn-2... :)

If you have any farther thoughts on this deck, or have any of your own that you'd like suggestions on, just hit me up!..

Thanks!

Sorrow is a good sideboard card, but in every aggro deck now, there are lots of creatures with toughness 3 or greather...

I only go for mill, so Fate Unreveler won't help much, especially when I run 4 Devour Fleash... ...AEtherling would be reasonable & I've considered it, because it can single-handedly end the game, no matter if this is a mill deck... ...but I just can'T chose it over anything I have in here...

Thanks for the help anyway! :)

WOW... ...it's been a while since I saw some1 around here who actually puts effort in a suggestion!.. ...thank you very much, sir!

Unravel the AEther is mostly for gods, but it's not nessesary to take those out, when the Devotion is cut off... ...& Gild can also do the job...

The Troll may feed my graveyard just fine, tough some Grisly Salvage might could help as well... ...I've considered it before obviously, but this isn't that kind of deck at all... ...tough I'll try if it helps.......

Witchstalker is a very good idea & I can't imagine how I haven't thought about it... ...I thought about Treasured Find, but I only go with it, if I decide to use Grisly Salvage...

I'm not gonna' use Nemesis...

Doom Blade & Ultimate Price are very handy at times, when I have only 2 open mana & the opponent playes a Stormbreath Dragon for example... ...I don't like to have too many Devour Flash in a deck, if it's not a mill deck... ...this is any aggro deck, so letting the opponent gain many life just might cost me a victory... ...I'm using only 1-1 of both Blade & Price in the main deck, because of their lack of versitality.......

This deck builds a little on black devotion & Grey Merchant is extremely important here... ...when I suffer from multiple removal from my opponent, if I can surprise him/her with only 1 of these, I'm on a comeback most of the time... ...it's really working with this aggro built.......

Thanks for your help! You really know a thing or 2, so I'd be glad if I could "hear" your opinion on my #1 tournament deck!..

Yup... ...but I use Pilfered Plans instead... ...I'm thinking about using 2-2 of Bones & Plans... ...but if I do, what do I take out?.. ...I thought about having only 1 Essence Scatter in the main deck & in the sideboard, change the Ultimate Price for a Scatter... ...but the 2 Scatter is working really well in the main deck... ...I've also thought about having only 2 Far // Away in the main deck, but those are really effective as well... ...I can't think of anything else.......

YO, KJ!

I've considered Read the Bones, because it's faster & better than Connections, when you don't play for Devotion... ...Erebos won't be too good, since his ability not to let my opponent gain life is useless here, because my only aim to win with this deck is milling... ...of course, I can grab creatures with Aishok, but that's rather a defensive alternative here.......

Yeah... ...Anger sometimes doesn't fit in the game, but usually the opponent choses to tribute the Phoneix & the Reckoner deals damage after it's delt by Anger, so I can take out a bigger creature as well, if not 3 damage to my opponent...

Still, there must be a better card for this deck than Anger of the Gods... ...I'll Ponder on that...

Thanks!

Right... ...I'm an idiot... :)

I remembered it as a "whenever it dies" ability, but I don't know how... ...now I understand what you didn't, that I said... :)

I haven't used the card much, probably that's why...

...by the way... ...burn decks... ...here's mine(not all about burn): http://www.mtgvault.com/poetmasterx/decks/sparkphoneix/

I get it... ...I've associated Flame-Wreathed's ability with Chandra's'... :)

When the Artisan dies as a copy of the Phoneix, the "return to hand ability" triggeres while Artisan is still on the battlefield, so yeah, it goes back to it's owner's hand... ...in the past, it was "put into a graveyard", but since wizards changed it to "dies", the thing triggeres before it leaves the battlefield & put into a graveyard... ...so you will get the Artisan back.......

I can't imagine wich part you can't understand what I've said in my previous comment...
