How the deck is now, it does not need 26 lands... ...it could mess up your late-game...I'd rather put that 3rd Anger in the main deck & put 1 more Elixir in the sideboard, tough you don't really have huge drawpower here, so may be a Planar Cleansing in the sideboard would be better...I'm also excited how this would play out... ...it seems ok, but you lack the amount of draw nesesary to make a control deck like this effective against resellient aggro & midrange decks... ...tough, I think against other control decks, you'll do well... ...well constructed Selesnya aggro will wipe you out probably, but against Gruul-Nykthos decks, it will be easy, when you draw in the right order.......You know, in control, you have only a few finishers, so drawpower is the most important element, it also keeps your hand filled with removal & such for survival... ...if you look into my USA control wich I posted here, it will show you how it works, tough mine isn't yet oerfect as well... ...I use Jund midrange-control, Bant control & Esper control decks at the moment.......

You know... ...it gives you drawpower, tough 23 creatures is more suited for 3 Domri... ...if you use the -2 ability of Domri often, than it's not a problem to have 4 of it & draw 2-3 within a game... ...I don't really run much removal here, so that "fight" ability is very handy.......
-3 Essence Scatter(2 in sideboards), -2 Chained to the Rocks(+1 in sideboard may be), -1 Counterflux, -1 Cyclonic Rift(+1 in sideboard), -1 Legion, -1 Sphere(+1 in sideboard)...+4 Supreme Verdict, +2 Anger of the Gods(+1 in sideboard), +1 Azorius Charm, +2 Turn // Burn(+1 in sideboard - against gods & stuff)...Use 2-3 Negate, 1 Elixir of Immortality, 2 Angel of Serenity, 1 AEtherize & 1-2 Dissolve, or Counterflux, may be Syncopate in the sideboard along with the other stuff...This is kind of different than how I do it: http://www.mtgvault.com/poetmasterx/decks/revelations-will-end-serenity/ (not yet finished)......here is my mono-black attempt, that does great, but it's still not perfected: http://www.mtgvault.com/poetmasterx/decks/nykthos-shrine-of-underworld/
Well, this is ok... ...but I don't like the Geyser there... ...ok, it's reasenable with Nykthos, but most of the time, it'll just slow your deck...Also, Burning-Tree is used in many of these decks, even by pro-s, but trust me, it's not worth it, since it gives you 1 red & 1 green, so you usually won't get to play 2 creatures at turn two if you use the best possible creatures for the deck...The Phoenix is not good here... ...it won't come back too often...What you'll certanly need here is Frostburn Wierd, 1 more Reckogner, 1 more mountain & may be 1-2 Mutavault(highly recommanded)...Stormbreath is very nice here, tough I don't use it, 'cuz as I tested these decks, it turned out that no matter if it has haste, it still slowes down the deck...Five Alarm Fire has really worked out for me(no more & no less than 2 of it)... ...if I play it on turn 3, it will 1st activate between turn 5 to 7, usually 5 or 6, but if I cast it on turn 4, it'll still activate the same time... ...if I cast it on turn 5 or 6, or mid/late-game, it'll almost alwayes activate the turn I play it & than also activate each turn.......Mizzium Mortars is a game vinner!.. ...with Nykthos, it's easy to cast 1 for it's Overload & than still cast stuff(if hammer is on board, than they'll have haste & quite some of the stuff has haste by itselfe) & attack with everything without a possible blocker, or may be 1 or 2 blockers... ...use it mainboard(at least 3 of it).......Anger won't do you good in the sideboard since it kills off most of your own stuff...Since some of the stuff has haste by itselfe, I like to run only 2 Hammer, but 3 is also reasonable... ...I just don't like to draw too many... ...may be keeping 1 out of the 3 in the sideboard for times when the opponent can exile it with Fade into Antiquity would be the best...I use Dragon Mantle & Dragon Hatchling, because their ability +1/+0 ability is formitable with Nykthos & I've won matches by that where I've had my creatures wiped out 3-4 times in a single game... ...especially the Hatchling(holding it for late-game against control decks is a deciding act)... ...I also like Mantle for it's draw ability, it really kicks the stability of the deck & it's awesome with both Ash & Reckogner(because of First Strike - +1/+0 with First Strike is nice)... ...Reckogner with First Strike & Dragon Mantle can also be delt damage, return the damage & staying alive thanks to the +1/+0 stuff.......Overall, you've done a good job!.. ...make a few changes & it will rock ass! :)
sure... ...I've tested all my decks against each other & I've play-tested them at several shops, but I haven't used this on FNM & I will not... ...perhaps I'll lend it to one of my friends to try it on FNM...This deck is competative even at the most competative fields(at some shops, FNM-s are like pro-tour quality competition, or even better), but it won't make a top-8 at an FNM, I can see that, perhaps at places where less than 20 players assign, or where it is not that competative...I've made this deck to test it out if it was better than Naya &/or Gruul & to test my tournament decks against... ...this is a little stronger than most Gruul decks & a little weaker than well constructed Naya decks...Since rotation, I toke 2 decks so far & have won both times & I lend a 3rd deck to a friend at an FNM where I also participated... ...he made 3rd place... ...I've made changes for each deck & each has became better than it was...There are 3 decks I consider using this week at FNM..."Mono Blue" devotion aggro with a white twist(my friend used this on an FNM, I've made changes since): http://www.mtgvault.com/poetmasterx/decks/master-of-revelations/Mono red devotion aggro(different strategy than any before): http://www.mtgvault.com/poetmasterx/decks/ashes-to-masses-dust-to-god/Bant midrange control: http://www.mtgvault.com/poetmasterx/decks/armada-sent-back-to-aether/Wich one would you take to FNM?..
Thanks! :)
I don't know why I alwayes write Tidebringer instead of Tidebinder tough... :)
I've done that... ...I also put Wall of Frost in the main deck, but it's not fast enough now... ...there isn't more 2 cmc/UU creature left in standard, so I have no idea how to fix this for now... ...may be I'll use 2 Tidebringer & 1 Wall in the main deck & the remeaning stuff in the sideboard... ...may be only 1 Wall in the sideboard is fine & 2 Tidebringer, so a total of 4 Tidebringer will be there & 2 Wall.......
Thanks! You don't have to bux it... ...there will be players who have more than enough of it, so you could trade... ...I never spend much money on decks, I have a huge collection, 'cuz I'm playing since 1999... ...so Legacy & Modern players trade with me all the time... ...they buy lots of fresh boosters & stuff, than by trade they get what they want & we Standard players also.......Voice is one of the most important cards here, since it's awesome against control & makes the deck resellient... ...but if you don't want to rely on getting it, than use 1 more Courage maindeck, 1 more Healer & 1 more Lion...
Thanks!.. ...if I do that, I'd need a 3rd Nykthos & than I'd have only 1 Mutavault... ...may be it's better that way... ...I'll use 1 Mutavault in the sideboard for whenever I need more board presence & oppose a deck with wipes... ...I'll drop 1 Hybranization from the sideboard & 1 Omenspeaker from the main deck... ...tough, there might be a better card for the 2 remeaning spots than Omenspeaker... ...may be I also drop Divination & find something better... ...I don't like Tidebringer tough & I've seen it do the worse in these decks even at pro-tours.......
I like the complection, but for this mana curve, you don't need this many lands... ...25 is enough...You should also put 2 Doom Blade into your sideboard instead of 2 Ashiok... ...instead of Disperse, I'd use 2 Elixir of Immortality in the sides...Than you'd have 4 free soaces in the main deck wich I'd fill with 3 Mizzium Mortars & 1 Cyclonic Rift... ...for the free space we'll get of Cyclonic Rift in the sideboard, I'd use Dissolve as well as I'd also take out the remeaning Ashiok & use 2 more Dissolve instead... ...may be you should drop the remeaning 2 extra Rift from the sideboard & add 2 Negate instead...The mana base you have here is really off... ...you have the maount of mana you need of each color, but those 8 mountains really makes it instabil... ...you probably don't have the duals you need, but I'll suggest a mana base here: 4x Watery Grave, 4x Blood Crypt, 4x Steam Vents, 3x Temple of Deceit, 2 Swamp, 1 Island, 4 Mountain, 1x Izzet Guildgate, 2x Mutavault... ...that's 25 lands(13 could produce black, 13 blue & 13 red along with the 2 Mutavault... ...if you think 12 is enough for red & blue, you could drop the Izzet Guildgate & add a 3rd Mutavault, but I won't suggest that).......Good luck! I really like this complection...Watcha' think about this one?.. : http://www.mtgvault.com/poetmasterx/decks/master-of-revelations/
It's a nice combo, but it has conditions & conditions won't happen' often against decks with a strong set of removal...When Zendikar & Scars were standard, Warcaller was best to boost Ezuri, so he won't get shot easily & with that, I could regenerate all other elves when a wipe came... ...the opponent could only eleminate my creatures, when he/she 1st used a removal on Ezuri, than a wipe on all my other elves... ...& even after that, I cast Lead the stampede & restart building up my boardgame faster than my opponent... ...of course, All is Dust were my worst enemy, but I could still manage to overcome, 'cuz I've had drawpower.......
1 Rakdos's Return is enough mainboard... ...you can sideboard 1 or 2 more when you're up against a deck that playes 3-4 Sphinx's Revelation, or just simply strong on drawpower... ...so 1 mainboard & 2 sideboard is fine...I'd use 3 Boros Charm in the main deck... ...it has 3 very useful abilities as the 4 damage could be a game changer at times, you can protect Reckoner from your own Anger, or any of your creatures from destruction, or combat damage & you can also give a creature double strike, for example Stormbreath Dragon, or the Demon... ...it's so useful that you need to run more than 2 in the main deck & I think 3 is idealic.......I'd also use only 2 Doom Blade in the sideboard... ...you have more than enough destruction anywayes... ...& for the 2 remeaning spots, I'd use Helix... ...tough I'd rather put a Mortars & a Downfall in the sideboard & use the 2 Helix mainboard...Magma Jet doesn't do anything as a sideboard... ...I'd rather use an extra Helix & an extra Stormbreath(when you'd need more fast biggies against control pherhaps & he can also deal damage due to cards in hand & against control, it's awesome)...
Since Doom Blade 1st came out, I've never used it in the main deck of any of my FNM & other tournament decks... ...tough it alwayes has been a strong sideboard card whenever I needed some extra fast removal...When it came out in M10, I ran Jund, so I rather used Terminate & Maelstrom Pulse, etc... ...I did not even had any in my sideboard... ...when it was Zendikar & Scars of Mirrodin time, I ran Elves & Gruul-Eldrazi, so I did not use it than either, also, there was Go for the Throat, wich were better.......Here are the 2 decks I've used on FNM since I got back & the 3rd one is what I'm going to use this week:http://www.mtgvault.com/poetmasterx/decks/consume-the-heroes/http://www.mtgvault.com/poetmasterx/decks/merciless-verdict-serenity/http://www.mtgvault.com/poetmasterx/decks/armada-sent-back-to-aether/Wich one would you go with?.. ...so far the Esper beat the Jund, Bant beat Jund 75% of the time & alwayes beat the Esper... ...tough I've used Jund & Esper on seperate occasions & I've won the event with each... ...Jund haven't lost a match & te Esper went 2-1 twice.......
Looks fun, but for a legacy deck, it's weak, even for modern...
If fireball, than why not Bonfire, If you have it?.. ...Putrefy is really not a good card at all, especially in modern... ...I'd use Mealstrom Pulse instead... ...it's really not worth using black just for that... ...you gonna' need Prowes of the Fair, even if you want to stick to the worrior token idea here wich is not worthit, it still gives you elf warrior tokens & you'll be resellient against wipes & such... ...as I said twice before, draw is one of the most important elements in an elf deck... ...I've played elves every time they were present in standard & even many times in modern, so you can trust me on this!...... :)
Immaculate Magistrate is a bad card... ...4 cmc in elf & it does it's thing on only 1 creature, so it's easy deal with it...
...& mono black is popular as well... ...I never use Doom Blade in any main deck... ...never have.......
It looks ok now, but I'd drop 1 Return & add a 3rd Dreadbore... ...also, I'd drop Magma Jet from the sideboard & add 2 extra Chained to the rocks(if the opponent playes more gods)...I'd also use only 3 Mizzium Mortars & add a 3rd Read the Bones...You'll have a free space in the sideboard than, because of the 3rd Dreadbore mainboard, so I'd replace it with a 4th Mortars...
It's fine, but if you want this deck to be resellient against wipes & such & survive tough matches, you have to drop the warrior token idea & add a lot of powerful draw here... :)
