what do you mean the particular combo i created?
i definitely think that it's a bit on the creature control side. maybe too much, but that can and will be easily switched up depending on what i see in the meta, just switching SB and MB around.

one friend told me gideon and venser + stonehorn and day was wayyyyy too much creature control, and i might agree with him, but i'm not 100% sure. it really depends, like i said, on the meta and how it plays out until october.

however, all i'm really losing is colonnade, as preordain can be replaced by ponder. condemn and into the roil can be replaced by dismember and/or other white removal / draw.

OR, as one friend sugested, with this SuperFog - esque deck, throwing in 3x of the new jace could win the me game. easy, because they can't really attack. xD lol

thanks for the compliment though, i really appreciate it! :D

yeah wall of omens is nice, but i really try to focus on board control and the prison - esque theme in this deck, so i'm running deceiver exarch instead of wall of omens, i think as a venser target, he's much better, espeically when i have to spend the first 4 turns locking down, wall of omens isn't as awesome as exarch or o-ring.

but thanks, i like it.
as for master splicer? idk, if anything i'd run wing splicer, as i can skip their combat phase then fly over them from the ground.

actually though, that could be a build. here. i'll make one right now.

something along the lines of that. better win con.
i chose not to run with precursor b/c with dismember and black running so rampant, and the love green has been getting lately, and all the anti-artifact BS, copying it for the golems would be too much of a pain in the butt.

Bouncing for exiling priority, I know its a stretch but exiling a steel overseer is a good play, then exiling a tezz is better. :) because the aggro is rough to deal with, but tezz's ultimate something I can't deal with besides roil.

eh, i'm not 100% sure, and honestly i think i prefer just straight up countering or locking them down, it doesn't matter how many they have if they can't attack with them, or if i tap them down or if they all attack gideon. plus, my sb is even rougher against splinter twin because of extraction, negate and spellskite.

i definitely like wall of omens.

as you suggested on my UW deck, you seem to have a thing for gitaxian probe, which is a cool card and all, and it replaces itself, i'd just rather see a spellskite or another gideon for the gideon + day combo. also, i'd probably run more sun titans if you do decide to take out your gitaxian probes. throwing tec edge, sun titan and spellskite all together along with gideon basically means you'll survive anything! :) lol

i'm a bit confused about blade splicer though, i think the spot might be better filled with a wurmcoil or precurser golem (since you have venser) but hey, that's just me.
all that control (oh and maybe magnets too?) your win con could easily just be bounce precursor and what not until you can -1 on venser for the win. it's not an aweful choice, just that precursor is kinda really vulnerable...

i like it though! :D

i completely forgot o-ring was back. thanks for that! xD haha

but no yeah, if he were 3 mana though... he would be wayyyy too powerful, and at 4 when i've got exarch and other things in the 3 drop slot, i think i'll be fine. dismember does kill him though, which is very mean. I'm just not sure how many decks will be playing it, though if there are a lot, i'll be MB'ing it for condemn.

all i'll check out your deck right away, but you put the "edit deck" link in. :P haha. xD i'll still find it though! :D

and yeah, i think it should focus from creature control to counter magic control fairly quickly post - SB, i'm just really afraid of UB control. A friend suggested grand abolisher to stop UB from becoming too powerful as they'll have to use killspells during their turn, and things can't be countered, but i'm not sure. what are your thoughts? :)

in tournament play where i'd expect to see a lot more control being played, i'd probably drop the roils and what not to play 4 spellskite MB - UB control is rough on this deck. :./

i really like triskelion + basilisk collar. very very fun combo, though i think that running incinerate seems a bit weak. it depends on how many planeswalkers will be efffected by it, and how useful it is. also - i really don't see the point in blue besides the mages, in which case i'd rather just play more aggro and dorp blue to help the mana base, or go more control and play some leaks / ponder / preordain.

other than that though, i really like the deck! it looks like you put a lot of time into the land base, which turned out very well and extraordinary balanced. looks like a fun deck?

i definitely agree with the dual land choice, but only 2 islands is rough, it almost makes it seem like it's not worth playing blue when you're only playing it for blighted agent and preordain. but that's just me.
other than that, i really like the deck, :) it's cool.

i really like the call to the grave + mortitian beetle combo, but i'm not 100% sure about jace in here, i think i'd rather see him in a mill / more graveryard based deck.

try dropping him, moving up to 24 lands, and dropping divination for preordain. 4x preordain and 2x ponder will definitely get you the CA that you need.

also, no darkslick shores? which is the if it's your 1st, 2nd, or 3rd land, it doesn't come in tapped UB land? check that out

also, comment for comment / like for like? :)

i really like it, but there are some cards in there that do throw me for a loop. namely the sword, inkmoth, and vault skirge.

I definitely love the gideon theme, it's very fun, and abolisher is an awesome card. :)

however, I thinking running more stave off and/or like porcelain legionnaire would be good plans. inkmoth i can see working b/c you don't have a ton of flying, but with so much tapping down, i don't see that as such a huge problem to begin with.

also, only 2of gideon jura? i'd run at least 3, possibly 4 as you don't have any CA in white.

yeah, through my gauntlet, i'm seeing some incredibile weakness to UB control. so i'll have to switch around my SB. my MB did fine against valakut even though, so that's good. i don't need the sun titan tec edge combo. xD

i'm basically always on the no-go for 1ofs, maybe trying focusing it a bit more. :) aside from that though, i really, really did porcelain legionnaire . definitely run 4 of them. :)
other than that the deck looks really solid.
just focurs it a bit, and i could see the deck doing amazingly well! :D

i like it, but i'm not 100% sure what the purpose of fling is. and if you plan on copying it. and why on earth isn't lightning bolt in this deck?!? :O 1 red mana for 3 damage? that sounds awesome to me! xD hahaha

i also like green helping for spikeshot - because it's normaly really hard to get out in a mono red deck unless you're playing big red.

however, i think running a few swords like war and peace against control or even body and mind to get more guys on the field, might not be that bad of an idea. they work awesomely with spikeshot. :)

check out my new deck?

i do like it, but i think it needs a lot more control and card advantage in order to get the combo out.
also, 20 land is a bit low, like 4 or 5 too low.

However, 1of venser also seems too low.

i'd work focusing on it a bit, and 1ofs are awful for consistency.

3 colors also seems a bit rough...

I'm kinda inspired though, and i appreciate this sort of blink theory, you made a comment on my stonehorn dignitary deck that had to do with blinking and i kinda like it. this past 2 sets have had a lot of blink-worthy cards.

I do like it, but I don't know if it's exactly discard.
lol,
you don't even have duress or despise or inquisition or anything. xD haha.

also, 20 lands seems kinda low... when you've got 12 things in your 3 slot and 4 in your 4 slot.
dark ritual definitely helps though.

i do love me some discard though. :) look through the decks i've made, there should be 3 to a milion discard decks in there.

and honestly, phrexian obliterator might really help in a discard deck. (the BBBB 5/5 trample that whenever damage is delt to him the person who did dmg to it sacs that many permanents creature. very, very powerful, and helps stabalize. Also, you're lacking some draw. :o not even sign in blood?!?)

unless it's a discard + reanimate, in which case, i really dig it, but throw in some more reanimate! ;) haha

anyways, hope you appreciated my comment, return the favor? and "like" for "like?"

yeah i've got 4 vensers, but getting gideon will be a pain, lucikly he's at 19.99 at the time of this comment. i'll have to snag him now before he skyrockets! :o

it's the manlands i'm concerned about honestly, I don't have any of them, and everyone i know who played caw-blade plays extended too and are playing caw-blade there.... lol. :(

thanks for the compliment though! :D

so just right off the bat, i like the deck. Red has gotten a lot of love since the ban and release of m12, and i really like it. like a lot. i recently made a goblin deck that's been wrecking face, not to mention the red praetor, koth, and the new chandra are all awesome cards!

However, I'm not exactly sure how you'll be getting this off with only 20 lands, and i feel like some of the spells to be copying with chandra aren't so hot. (no pun intended, well okay, it was intended, but still, hahahaha) i mean, fling isn't so great, and neither is gut shot. geosurge is brutal good though, and goblin grenade seems like it doesn't have a ton of targets for your deck, besides arsonist and guide, what else will you be sacing?

maybe look into more of a big red build, dropping chandra (i know she's fun, but it doesn't seem to fit so well... D: ) and moving up to 24 lands, then look into inferno titan and more koth. :D it cound be really, really fun, and definitely workable.

otherwise, i'd say to run a goblin deck.

sorry for the aweful input, i really do like the idea though, so keep at it! i'll check back and look for changes! :D

oh! and check out the new standard deck I built? I'm trying to give it a lot of exposure, so if nothing else, just for me typing all this out, follow the link and hit "like?" if nothing else, and if you're feeling super fancy, leave me a comment letting me know what you think? :D I'd like to hear everyone's opinions!

well. Although I do really like the deck, stoneforge mystic is banned in standard, which explains why i suppose it's an extended deck. xD rofl

however, i for one am not a fan of 1 of's of anything unless you can tutor for them, and i'm not exactly sure that you can as well as you think you'll be able to.

3x argentum armor is a lot, 6 down 6 equip is a lot to be dealing with, prototype portal is nice, and so is symblence anvil, but what i'd like to see the most in here is a lot more control, maybe some day, condemn, journey, etc (i'm a standard player, so i mostly only can remmeber those cards.)

then play 4x mimic vat and 4x dismember
being able tutor up at 3 cost every turn, and have it have haste so you can drop it on the battlefield would make running 4 batterskulls easy beyond reason, as it's easily the best target for SFM, i don't see why not. Plus, dismember will do a lot of good for other things too. :)

so maybe try dropping some 1of equipments and running more of what you consider the "best" ones. the same goes for creatures (and honestly, i'd pick some of the newer ones like mirran crusader (doublestrike pro 2 colors) and porcelain legionnaire.

though i do love the idea! and SFM and puresteel are meant to be together! :D I like it very, very, very much. :) huge fan. equipments are my thing. I have a whole equip EDH deck built around kemba kha. :P haha

anyways, idk if you're into standard or not, but if so, mind checking out my latest deck? even if you don't read over it, i'd like to see it hit the upcoming section or the front page, so give it a like. "like" for "like?" <333

hehe

anyways, here ya go! :) like away! xD rofl

also, if you ever need a place to playtest before you go shelling out all that cash on those cards, check out cockatrice.de, it's a free online magic program that lets you play with as many cards as you want for free and lets you deck build and play against real people. :) it's cool. :)
