IF going with the Aven/token method...The above combo would be to tap the 2 bird tokens/Judge Familiar to flashback Battle Screech. Then Turn 5 play Aven. I would have 7 birds that would be pumped up to power of 2. 14 potential damage.

Out of all the cards left in Sideboard...Raven's Familiar looks the most promising. You get to look at the top 3 cards and keep 1 of them. Of course, you wouldn't pay the echo cost, unless it was late game. Not sure where I can fit her in, just yet. I do know Sunscape Familiar will make Raven's Familiar cost 1 less mana, though.
Another example might be.Turn 1. Play Island. Play Judge's Familiar.Turn 2. Play Plains. Play Stormscape Familiar.Turn 3. Play Island. Play Keeper of the Nine Gales.Turn 4. Play Plains. Play Battle Screech. At this point, I have 2 options. I can tap Nine Gales and the two bird tokens from Battle Screech to bounce one of my opponent's permanents. OR. I can tap the Judge's Familiar and the 2 bird tokens from Battle Screech and flashback Battle Screech for 2 more 1/1 bird flyers. Again, it comes down to which way I want to take it...more control or more tokens. Notes: I don't think I need two different cards that pump up my creatures (Aven Brigadier AND Kangee).Kangee rocks IF i have both mana reducing Familiars out AND I am going for the token win. Bot If i am going control over trying to win with tokens...then maybe both Aven and Kangee isn't needed.
Assuming me. I do not want them, as of yet, because I do not have any decks built with them. They are very nice cards, though.
http://www.mtgvault.com/jessie/decks/this-looks-familiar/I try to be innovative, to the max! That deck is an example, and one I need help with. It ended up being bird tribal HOWEVER, my original idea was to use as many cards with the word "Familiar" in them. I ended up with 12...in the very early version of the deck. Mainly because cards with the word "Familiar" aren't that good! I threw it together in 5 minutes...and it definitely needs some direction. A quick deck search...out of thousands upon thousands of decks....it is 1 of 3 decks that tried to put Familiars into a deck. One from 2007: His, not trashing it, is 70 cards and is a mess (trying to run every color but playing all basic lands, with no general idea how to win except making his spells cost less mana). Plus it is posted back in 2007. Second deck, posted in 2012, is same deal. A hot mess trying to reduce mana cost...with no way to really win. So...going back 7 years, I just made a deck where only 2 other people have done something close to it.Can't say that for mono blue control, or discard, or goblins. Again, can't knock me for trying to be different. *******************************************************************************************************Speaking of Budget...which that deck I just linked is under 17 bucks...it is tricky to make a GOOD budget deck. True, you can come up with a theme...look up cards based on their price...then add in basic/staple cards and add it all together...but that will not necessarily make it a great deck. Solid deck, maybe. Well rounded, maybe. Hence, sometimes you have to be "innovative" as I agree with HokeyPokey. Anyone can win with Planeswalkers and 50 dollar cards. But to win with a budget deck...it does indeed take decent deck building skills. Or, at least, that is my 2 cents worth on the subject. And I think Northy is a great part of Magic Vault. He responds to your decks. He never fails to take up deck challenges. He is always nice...one of those people whom, "if you don't have anything nice to say, then don't say anything at all" types of guys. He has made over 500 decks that he contributed to Magic Vault..and has thousands of comments. I can't say that about anyone else on this site. The 500 decks contributed, alone, is huge!! At the rate I am going, and i have been building a lot of decks lately, it would take me 6 years or so to post 500 decks. With all of his budget decks...and all of the young teenagers/beginners/people on budget (usually teens) on Magic Vault...he is showing them that they can have Magic as a hobby, without it being too expensive. He, in his own small way, is paving the way for the next generation of Mtg fans. With Magic Vault only allowing you to have 2 hot decks at any one given time (Northy broke Magic Vault), he/budget decks won't clog up the Hot Pages anymore.
Lol.Hey, now, I would help if i didn't suck at EDH. With asking me for advice...it is like the blind leading the blind!
Nope, I don't really know that many newer cards.
Maybe replace it with Flickerwisp?
What lands would you reduce?
Squidditch, haha. I seen what you did there!Instant like for me.
Don't fret, she is always hating :)French women must be really pissed off all the time. I looked at your deck, c smith 1989. Suggested several changes, don't hate me for it. Mainly it needs draw cards and a creature like Aetherling. Pinging your opponent, even if you have lock down, for 1 damage 20 times is slow as hell and not practical.Advertizing is one of the few ways to get any notice on Magic Vault. Another method...flood people's decks with views/good suggestions/honest reviews/advice. One other method is to pick very good deck tags and interesting deck names.
No, cause I would give bad advice.I have never played EDH. And only ever made two EDH decks. Both of which sucked.
Lucky you!
Miles and miles and miles away.In rural, backwoods, southeast Georgia. Still here...blah. lol
Heroic is very interesting. I do not have any of those cards, I do not think.
Well, there you go! :) I see your point.
Wow, more bro moments. I am also 30. Damn Saturday morning...yeah, we never had cable...and back then cartoons only played Saturday morning (for the most part)...I remember those days. Turning the antenna to try and watch Fox. lol
Yes, very true catch. It is all or nothing...and the above example left you with only 4 cards in your hand. And if you actually play something with the 6 mana...you might have only 1 or 2 cards in your hand left on the end of Turn 2.
John Stamos...lmao. Yeah, I love that movie. Not a sports fan, and it is very dumb, but I like Talladega Nights: The Story of Ricky Bobby. Freaking A, is that Saved by the Bell cast singing?! My wife, when she gets home, will have that video waiting on the screen for her to watch!I, confession time, watched that crappy show back in the day. Now our 11 year old daughter has started to watch it on Netflix...ugh...lol.
The Armpit suggestion...is sound. He suggested Dragonauts. I like it over the Nivix. I would run it. HOWEVER, i never even thought about stuff like Artful Dodge. And since Delver has flying too...might not need Dragonauts.Do you top deck often in this deck? Might want to add 3 draw cards...somewhere.Oh yeah, if you are going the way of Artful Dodge and the sort...why not run Distortion Strike?! Since drawing will help you, why not up +1 the Shadow Rift and remove the Artful Dodge and add in Distortion Strike?Sure, Dodge has flashback that can be payed anytime. But you have to pay mana to get it back. Distortion Strike will get you two turns of being unblocked PLUS the second turn will be an absolutely free spell which will power up your Kiln Fiend/Secrets. Good luck!
